Fortunately, the resistance wasn't enough to sever the connection. Michael still possessed control. But the attack was already close to being unleashed.
The instant Michael understood what was about to happen, he roared at the top of his lungs through the soul connection linking him to every summoned undead.
"DEFEND THE CITY!"
The mand exploded across the city simultaneously.
Nearly one thousand Rank Four undead reacted without a moment's hesitation.
Earth-type undead tore entire sections of the ground upward, raising massive walls of pacted stone around residential districts.
Plant-type undead caused forests of enormous vines to erupt from beneath the streets, weaving themselves into dense barriers capable of absorbing searing heat.
Water-element undead summoned gigantic tidal barriers that surged upward like living walls.
Many other undead defended in their own way.
General Caelum's expression changed drastically at the sight bearing down on the city.
Without waiting for orders, he exploded into the sky. Director Lin followed immediately behind him.
Teacher Brian and Instructor Yara also moved, despite knowing their strength would barely register against what was ing.
Across Brightgate City, powerful auras awakened one after another.
Every supernatural who could still move instinctively rushed to cast whatever defensive measure they could manage, throwing up shields, barriers, and formations in a desperate scramble.
The sphere of energy within the dragon's throat reached its limit.
The gigantic head tilted directly toward the blood-robed Demigod.
Michael's heart skipped a beat.
"No…"
The dragon opened its jaws pletely. A beam of condensed emerald destruction erupted.
The heavens split apart. Everything before the beam simply ceased to exist.
The attack was unimaginably fast.
The blood-robed Demigod's eyes widened. She immediately abandoned every thought of counterattacking.
All six wings folded before her body. Blood-like substance erupted from every pore as layer after layer of crimson barriers materialized. She even burned her own essence without hesitation.
At this stage, she could not care about the consequences. She only wanted to survive.
Unfortunately, the dragon's breath did not discriminate. It was simply too enormous.
Even though its primary target remained the Demigod, its sheer energy threatened to engulf Brightgate City.
The dragon's breath collided with the first defensive barrier of the female demigod.
The world exploded.
The emerald dragon breath pierced through the heavens with terrifying precision. It never deviated from its target.
From the moment it left the Undead High Drake's jaws until it reached the blood-robed Demigod, the beam remained locked onto her existence as though it possessed a will of its own.
Yet an attack of such magnitude could never be perfectly contained. The residual energy alone was enough to throw the entire sky into chaos.
The air ignited. Violent currents spread in every direction, heating the atmosphere to unimaginable temperatures, causing even the moisture in the air to vaporize beneath the overwhelming heat.
The surrounding space rippled violently, releasing invisible shockwaves that raced across Brightgate City.
BOOM!
The first wave reached the city. Buildings trembled. Thousands of windows shattered simultaneously.
Cars were overturned as powerful winds swept through the streets. Many ordinary people who had only just managed to stand were thrown back onto the ground once again.
The defenders immediately realized what they were facing.
"Hold on!"
General Caelum roared.
All supernaturals immediately strengthened their focus as they reinforced their defenses against the expanding shockwaves.
Barrier after barrier continued to appear over Brightgate City like overlapping transparent domes.
Earth walls rose around residential districts as enormous forests of vines intertwined to absorb the searing heat.
For perhaps the first time in decades, every supernatural within Brightgate City fought toward the same objective.
Protect the civilians.
But regardless of what was erected, many of the unleashed barriers could only tremble and crack.
Fortunately, together they endured.
Even then, they could not protect everyone.
Several weakened buildings collapsed after enduring repeated shockwaves that slipped through.
A few unfortunate people, already injured by the earlier pressure, failed to survive when debris buried them beneath the rubble.
Others suffered severe burns from the waves of superheated air sweeping through certain districts.
pared to the catastrophe that should have occurred, the losses were incredibly small. But every life lost still weighed heavily upon Michael.
High above the city, the emerald dragon breath had long reached its destination.
The blood-robed Demigod screamed as every layer of crimson defense she had erected collapsed one after another beneath the concentrated attack.
Space behind her continuously fractured, creating sonic booms as the beam forced her backward across the heavens.
Seeing the city withstand the aftermath, Michael immediately issued another mand through his soul connection.
The enormous undead dragon's emerald eyes shifted. It no longer gathered another dragon breath. Instead, it closed its jaws. Its colossal body blurred.
BOOM!
The heavens cracked beneath a single flap of its wings. An instant later, it appeared beside the blood-robed Demigod.
A claw larger than a mountain descended. The woman barely managed to raise both arms before the strike landed.
BOOM!
The impact shook the sky itself. She was sent hurtling thousands of meters through the air, crimson blood scattering behind her.
Before she could regain her balance, the undead dragon was already upon her again.
This time, it fought like the apex predator it had temporarily bee. No more breath attacks. Only overwhelming physical force.
Each swing of its claws distorted the air around it. Each beat of its wings created hurricanes that scattered whatever could stand before it.
The female Demigod was forced into a desperate retreat. She no longer had even a moment to look toward Brightgate City.
Every ounce of her concentration was devoted to survival.
With every exchange, the battle moved farther from the city.
The immense collisions continued to fill the heavens with emerald and crimson light, but the destructive aftermath reaching Brightgate gradually weakened.
