"Cooper, why are you here so early today?"
At that mont, lissa Greenwood had just returned from outside, she glanced at Little May nonchalantly, "Is your butt hurting again?"
"What’s going on?" Cooper Coldson frowned, "Did you hit her?"
"How could I?" lissa laughed helplessly, "She had a severe fever this morning, there was no choice, I had to give her a shot in the butt, she’s been complaining about pain all day."
She warned Little May with a stern look, "Don’t bother Uncle Coldson."
"Oh." Little May hung her head dejectedly, obediently laying on the bed, looking pitiful.
Cooper gently stroked the little one’s head, "It’s okay, just endure it, it will stop hurting tomorrow."
"Okay, thank you, Uncle Coldson." Little May didn’t dare to speak recklessly, staying obediently positioned.
lissa tenderly fed the little one, "Be good, eat more, so you can recover."
Little May was very well-behaved, eating eagerly, apparently feeling much better.
After lissa finished feeding her, Cooper called lissa outside.
"She’s already better now, so early tomorrow morning, let’s head to the U.S." He was obviously very anxious.
"Tomorrow morning?" lissa frowned, "After enduring for many years, a day or two more won’t make much difference, I want to wait until May is discharged before going."
"This specialist is world-renowned, it’s very hard to schedule a ti." Cooper still insisted, not giving lissa a chance to refuse, "Let it be set, tomorrow at eight, et at the airport."
He prepared to leave, "I have business to attend to at my company, I must go back to work, rember to eat."
"Okay, you go take care of it." Watching Cooper’s retreating figure, lissa clenched her teeth, she obviously knew what Cooper was anxious about.
Obviously, Cooper wanted to get her checked before the divorce hearing, he was hesitating about the divorce.
lissa didn’t understand why Cooper suddenly beca so hesitant, had Yolanda hinted sothing to him? That despicable woman, so unreliable!
Thinking this, she returned to the ward and imdiately lost her temper, "Were you trying to tattle just now?"
Although Little May was very well-behaved, lissa found that sotis the child would inadvertently complain to Cooper, which was truly annoying.
"No." Little May denied with her head lowered, "My butt really hurts."
At these words, lissa stepped forward and slapped Little May’s butt, causing the little one to cry out imdiately.
"Wah... it hurts so much!"
"Shut up!" lissa scolded, "Cry again, and see if I don’t really break your butt."
Little May imdiately clamped her mouth shut, not daring to cry anymore.
Only then did lissa cease, but thinking about heading to the U.S. tomorrow, she beca irritable.
The next day, Cooper left for the airport on ti, but received a call from lissa on the way.
"Cooper, May has developed a high fever again." lissa spoke with a sobbing voice, "Have you reached the airport yet? I can’t make it today, I’m sorry, Cooper."
Before Cooper could respond, the call was disconnected.
"Stop the car!" Cooper, unable to contain his anger, commanded sharply to Richard Reyes, "Turn around, go to the Won’s and Children’s Hospital."
The car swiftly headed for the hospital, during the ride, Cooper’s expression was grim, and Richard was too scared to even breathe heavily.
Upon arrival, Cooper quickly went to the ward and indeed found lissa by the bedside, with Little May’s face flushed with fever.
"What exactly is going on?" Upon entering, Cooper asked sternly, "Why does she keep getting fevers?"
lissa, eyes red, shook her head, "I don’t know, she was fine when she went to sleep last night, but this morning, her temperature rose again."
"What did the doctor say? Did they conduct a full examination?" Cooper was clearly also worried about Little May.
lissa nodded, "They did an examination, there’s nothing for the mont, the doctor said it’s probably because she’s too frail, her resistance is weak."
Cooper frowned, "Co out with for a mont."
lissa let go of Little May’s hand and followed Cooper to the hallway.
"We can’t wait any longer for the specialist in the U.S.," Cooper pondered aloud, "Let’s do this, take May with us, use Coldson Group’s private jet, we can even give May an IV on the plane."
lissa was shocked inside, she hadn’t expected Cooper to be so hurried, even willing to use a private jet.
She still disagreed, "Cooper, what are you so rushed for? If not this specialist, we can find another opportunity, we aren’t that pressed for ti."
She felt sad, "Although May isn’t our child, she already sees as her mother. She is sick now, I don’t want to distress her like this."
Cooper’s expression turned grim, but listening to lissa say this, he didn’t insist further.
"Fine, then stay with her, I will arrange everything else." He turned and strode away.
This made lissa very uneasy, she hesitated briefly but then called out, "Cooper, are you rushing because the hearing is about to start?"
Cooper paused but didn’t explain anything, leaving swiftly.
This angered lissa even more, she imdiately called Yolanda.
Since she had adopted Little May, Yolanda had already removed her number from the blacklist.
Yolanda was just about to leave for work when she saw the call from lissa, she frowned unhappily, "Hello? What’s wrong?"
"Your Little May is sick, aren’t you coming to see her?" lissa said through clenched teeth.
Yolanda hung up and greeted her office, then took a taxi to the Won’s and Children’s Hospital.
But upon reaching the hospital, before she could even see Little May, lissa stopped her at the ward door.
"What’s going on?" Yolanda was impatient.
"What did you tell Cooper?" lissa crossed her arms and demanded.
Yolanda was confused, "What did I say? I don’t et with him, what could I possibly tell him?"
She sneered, "lissa, not everyone is as shaless as you, liking to manipulate behind the scenes."
lissa’s expression shifted but still didn’t believe, "Then why is he so adamant about taking for a fertility check-up? Are you not the one causing trouble?"
Yolanda tugged at the corner of her mouth, "Shouldn’t you be happy? It shows he wants to have a child of his own with you."
She looked anxiously towards the ward, "You really should thank Little May, perhaps she made Cooper realize the goodness of children, which might’ve prompted this thought."
lissa watched Yolanda’s expression, which didn’t seem deceitful.
Her heart tasted bitter, Yolanda might not even know, she and Cooper can’t have children, they’ve never been together, how would a child just appear?
She was too weary to say more, just reminded Yolanda in the end, "Rember, I will treat May well, don’t get any ideas, the mont you see the divorce papers, you can take Jaxon away."
"Rember, if I find out you mistreated May," Yolanda threatened fiercely, "I’ll make you regret it deeply."
