Little May perked up a lot when she saw Yolanda co in.
"What happened? Did you catch a cold?" Yolanda touched the little one’s head worriedly, still feeling a bit of heat.
"I don’t know," the little one shook her head, "But it’s okay, mommy said I’ll get better soon after so injections and dicine."
"Yes, you’ll get better soon," Yolanda tucked her in carefully.
She felt uneasy in her heart. Now that Little May was ill, would lissa have an excuse not to go to Arica?
So, she found it hard not to suspect this was lissa’s doing!
She stayed with Little May for a while longer, then got up to leave, "lissa, co out for a second."
Yolanda called her into the hallway, "Did you do this?"
"What?" lissa looked defiant, "Go ask May yourself, see if I have abused her?"
Yolanda frowned, "You better not let find out you’ve been bullying May!"
After issuing the warning, she left, but even after leaving the hospital, she still felt that this had sothing to do with lissa.
And she was almost certain that if Cooper ntioned going to Arica again, lissa might repeat her tricks; she couldn’t just stand by and watch May get tossed around like this.
After thinking it over, Yolanda took a taxi to the Coldson Group and t Cooper.
"Why are you here?" Cooper was sowhat surprised to see Yolanda.
"lissa doesn’t want to go with you to Arica?" Yolanda cut straight to the point.
Cooper frowned, "What are you trying to say?"
"I just visited May at the hospital. She’s really not in the condition to be left alone. Actually..." Yolanda suggested, "You could invite that specialist to co here. That way you wouldn’t have to go back and forth, wouldn’t that be better?"
Cooper narrowed his eyes, "Do you... really want to have a child with her?"
His face looked terrible, as if he was quite upset by the idea.
"I just want you to take good care of May and not tornt her over so other things," Yolanda didn’t want to elaborate.
She didn’t co here expecting Cooper to fully see through lissa’s facade; she just didn’t want lissa to exploit May any further.
If it weren’t for May’s insistence on staying with lissa, Yolanda would actually have liked to take May away.
But perhaps blood was thicker than water. Even though she was so close to Little May, the child still only wanted to stay with lissa.
Cooper didn’t say anything, his attitude noncommittal.
Yolanda stood up to leave, reminding him on her way out, "Oh, and the court hearing is tomorrow, I hope you’ll show up on ti."
As the door opened and closed, Cooper clenched his fists.
Actually, he had already contacted the specialists in Arica after leaving the hospital that morning; at that mont, the specialist should be on the plane about to land at Gray City airport that evening.
He was already prepared.
The court hearing tomorrow... Cooper hesitated about whether he should go, because he knew if he went, it would an the end for him and Yolanda.
In the evening, after the specialist’s flight landed, Cooper went to the Won’s and Children’s Hospital.
Little May’s fever had gone, but she looked drained and weak.
Cooper played with the little one for a while, and then called lissa into the hallway.
"The fertility specialist has arrived tonight, get ready, we’ll check you out first thing in the morning."
lissa was shocked, her face showing disbelief, "You brought the specialist here?"
Cooper nodded, "Is there a problem? May is sick, and you can’t leave her. Isn’t it better that I brought the specialist here?"
He keenly observed lissa’s change in mood, "Why do I feel like you’re really opposed to this?"
"Cooper, I know I should be happy," lissa lowered her head, "but seeing you so eager makes really uncomfortable. You’ve always resented the fact that I can’t have children, haven’t you?"
"Don’t think too much," Cooper patted her arm, "Rest well tonight, and perhaps there will be good news tomorrow."
After Cooper left, lissa panicked completely.
She couldn’t just et the fertility specialist like that. She had no fertility issues, and she had already had a child - she couldn’t hide these facts.
She tentatively called Richard Reyes, "Assistant Reyes, do you know where the fertility specialist is staying?"
"Oh, they’re at the Imperial View Hotel," Richard answered puzzled, "Why are you asking, Miss Greenwood?"
"Nothing, I was thinking of paying a visit," lissa was a bit embarrassed, "But was worried I might disturb their rest."
"Miss Greenwood, you better not go there. The specialist needs to rest after almost ten hours on a flight," Richard subconsciously didn’t want lissa to go.
"Alright then, thank you, Assistant Reyes," lissa hung up.
Richard turned around and told Cooper the news, "Miss Greenwood just called and said she wanted to see the fertility specialist."
Cooper frowned.
"But I told her the specialist was jet-lagged and advised against her visiting," Richard watched Cooper carefully.
Balancing between the drama of his boss and these two won, he was really treading on thin ice.
Cooper thought for a mont before saying, "Alert the hotel, if she goes there, don’t let her see the specialist. Say it’s my order, the specialist won’t see anyone."
"Okay, I’ll call right away," Richard turned and left.
Cooper sat quietly for a mont, then started working on Coldson Group matters again.
After work, Yolanda bought so food and went ho, only to find Lola Gold hadn’t eaten all day.
"Lola, you can’t go on like this, co and eat sothing," she said with concern.
Although Lola had decided to separate from Christopher, she couldn’t help but feel sad, and these past few days, she hadn’t had much appetite.
She didn’t want Yolanda to worry, so she forced herself to the dining table. But as soon as she slled the food, her stomach churned, and she ran for the bathroom.
"Lola, are you okay?" Yolanda followed her.
Lola locked the bathroom door, "Yolanda, I’m fine. It’s just an upset stomach. You eat first, don’t mind ."
"Lola, open the door, let in," Yolanda said anxiously.
"Really, I’m okay." Lola sat collapsed by the toilet, her stomach empty, so she couldn’t vomit much.
But such a condition made her worry; she wasn’t... pregnant with Christopher’s child, was she?
But hadn’t her womb been damaged?
Lola’s mind went blank.
She couldn’t help but be curious; if she and Randy Carter were pregnant at the sa ti, what would Christopher do? Considering how much he valued the Coldson bloodline, would he force one of them to abort the child?
Such thoughts were truly desolate.
Lola struggled to her feet, washed her face, and then opened the bathroom door only to find Yolanda had been waiting there the whole ti.
Unable to control herself any longer, she grabbed Yolanda in a frightened embrace, "Yolanda, I... I’m not pregnant, am I?"
