Brooks Parker saw lissa Greenwood hang up the phone and scoffed, quickly sending a ssage, "Don’t regret this."
He put away his phone and entered the Coldson Group building, heading to the reception desk.
"Good morning, sir, how may I help you?" The receptionist was young and pretty, fluent in English.
Brooks, once a top student, was naturally good at English and quickly inford her that he wanted to see lissa Greenwood.
The receptionist maintained a perfect smile, "Do you have an appointnt? Or, would it be convenient for you to call Miss Greenwood to co down to et you?"
"It’s not convenient." Brooks lost his patience, "Call her now and tell her to co down."
The receptionist hesitated but dialed lissa Greenwood’s number.
lissa was in a eting with Cooper Coldson when her secretary ca in to get her, and she imdiately guessed that it was Brooks.
She didn’t want to pay attention to it, yet she heard Cooper’s low voice, "Go ahead, you’re no help here anyway."
He was obviously scorning her.
"Fine, let’s have dinner together once the eting is over." lissa had no choice but to leave, grinding her teeth in frustration.
When she reached the ground floor, she noticed Brooks had actually co in person; she hurried forward to push him away.
"What’s the rush?" Brooks didn’t budge, "Wouldn’t it look bad for your CEO girlfriend to be tugged around by a stranger?"
lissa was so mad she could go crazy, "Brooks, stop this nonsense, are you trying to get May killed? Cooper Coldson would really kill soone!"
Brooks huffed but followed lissa obediently.
They went to a small park not far from the company.
lissa tightened her coat and said impatiently, "What do you want to say? It’s cold, hurry up, I need to get back."
Brooks tried to hug her but she pushed him away.
"Are you insane?" lissa was at the end of her rope, feeling that this man had to be dealt with soon.
"How can you change faces so quickly?" Brooks also lost his temper, "Didn’t you plead under last night? Have you forgotten?"
"Brother Brooks, I’m really afraid of being discovered by Cooper," lissa looked anxious enough to cry, "What do you really want?"
Brooks smiled, thinking of sothing, "Guess who lives above ?"
"I’m not interested." lissa was out of patience, "Brother Brooks, I know you want to check on May, but I really can’t leave now. Can you give so more ti, please?"
But Brooks didn’t pick up on her words, "I rember back in school, didn’t Cooper have a girlfriend?"
lissa’s expression changed, unable to understand what Brooks was getting at.
"He liked that girl back then, didn’t he?" Brooks smiled at lissa, "I rember her na was... Yolanda Greenwood?"
"Brother Brooks, what are you getting at with this?" lissa was increasingly confused as she listened, "Cooper broke up with Yolanda Greenwood a long ti ago, it was just for fun."
Brooks just laughed, "Just for fun with her? And not with you? lissa, you better wise up, with your background, I doubt you’ll ever be good enough for the Coldson family."
lissa had had enough, "Brother Brooks, I’m going back. If you really want to check on May, then stop looking for all the ti, I’ll go when I find a chance."
She turned to leave.
"Wait." Brooks called out to her again.
"Don’t push !" lissa glared at Brooks angrily.
Brooks stepped forward quickly, "Give so money."
"Money?" lissa frowned, "Five million is not a small sum, give so ti."
"Not the five million, just give so... pocket money." Brooks’s eyes were evasive.
lissa found it odd, "Didn’t I give you money last night? You couldn’t have spent that much on a room, there should be over two thousand left."
"Please, don’t you know the cost of living here?" Brooks beca increasingly agitated, "Plus, I had to buy food and clothes for May, it’s all gone, just give another five thousand."
"Just one night, how much could you eat? And how much could children’s clothes possibly cost?" lissa sensed sothing was off.
"Do you care? Are you giving it or not?" Brooks seed more irritable by the second, and yelled, "You’re about to beco part of the Coldson family, can’t you part with that little amount?"
Not wanting to argue with him, lissa took out the money and handed it over.
Brooks pocketed the cash and left with one final remark, "Don’t think about ditching and May."
lissa watched his back disappear, her teeth clenched in anger. She had to find a way to get rid of this man and that wretched child quickly, otherwise everything would be ruined if Cooper found out.
Back at the apartnt, Yolanda Greenwood ended her video call with Lola Gold and saw Brooks co back to pick up May.
She sent the little one away, asked for Brooks’s na again, to which he still didn’t respond, and she found it quite strange.
The next day, after arriving at the company, Leah Diaz and Yolanda were called over by the design director.
It turned out that Tala planned to build a world-class clothing park, combining factories, shopping malls, and runways into a true fashion paradise.
Today, the design director Candy was going to et with the engineers to check out several locations and asked Yolanda and Leah if they were interested in joining.
"Of course I’d like to go." Yolanda was a bit excited, as she would surely learn a lot during the process.
Leah nodded in agreent. She couldn’t stay in M country forever, once Little Wood’s condition stabilized, she’d have to return.
And once back, if she could set up her own factory to make clothes, it would certainly be better than working for others.
Thus, Candy took the two to et the cooperating partners.
"Our partners this ti are also from China, a company said to be second to none in strength." On the way, Candy chatted with them.
Hearing such a leading title, Yolanda couldn’t help but think of the Coldson Group, but she figured the coincidence was unlikely.
Unexpectedly, as soon as they t the partners, Yolanda saw Cooper.
Both were clearly surprised.
"Do you know each other?" Candy took the initiative, "Right, you t at the last year-end show."
"We don’t know each other," Yolanda almost imdiately denied, "We did et briefly at the last show, but just that once, nothing more."
Cooper’s gaze turned frosty as he looked over and quickly added, "Indeed."
"It’s okay," Candy smiled, "There’s a Chinese saying, ’Strangers at first, but friends at second eting.’ After today, you officially know each other."
This ti, Yolanda forced a smile but didn’t respond.
Cooper, however, said flatly, "Not interested, and besides, today’s terrain might be rough, not suitable for pregnant won."
"Is that so?" Candy looked at Yolanda apologetically, "Do you still want to go, Miss Greenwood?"
"It’s fine, I can go." Yolanda was determined; she had no reason to miss this opportunity.
Cooper glanced at her high heels, which looked to be at least six or seven centiters tall, and with a humph, he walked ahead.
