Noah Coldson paused for a mont before realizing Adam Sterling was referring to that incident.
Due to his fear of Adam Sterling, his first instinct was to dodge; he didn’t want to ntion even half a word.
So, he imdiately ignored Adam Sterling’s words, "How is Yolanda? Just how serious is her condition?"
"Yolanda?" Adam Sterling raised an eyebrow, "Is that her na?"
Noah nodded, "Yes, Yolanda Greenwood, nicknad Yolanda."
He couldn’t help but laugh and cry, "You’re quite laid-back for a psychologist—chatting for so long without even knowing her na."
"Yolanda?" Adam Sterling murmured to himself, "That na really is an ironic prophecy."
Noah imdiately felt self-bla but was also sowhat puzzled, "But she’s pregnant now, why would she still care so much?"
"You didn’t hear about what happened after you left, did you?" Adam Sterling knew it would be this way.
Noah wasn’t quite sure, "What are you referring to?"
"When you left, she was already in a coma in the hospital, but after she woke up, she didn’t receive any thanks or praise."
Adam Sterling’s eyes flickered with a cold gleam, "Instead, her parents kept blaming her for being foolish, even berating her for a long ti."
"How could this be?" Noah could hardly imagine.
Let alone the fact that Yolanda was only four years old at the ti, even putting himself in her shoes now, it felt suffocating.
He never knew that beyond the physical hard at the ti, the psychological harm to Yolanda was even greater.
And it was all because of him.
A flare of anger ignited in Noah’s eyes; this incident had already caused Yolanda imnse harm, he couldn’t let it go on.
lissa Greenwood could marry Cooper Coldson, but certainly not because of this.
He had to tell Yolanda.
Adam Sterling watched him rush towards the dical office and called out subconsciously, "Hey? What are you doing?"
Noah didn’t answer.
Inside the dical office, Yolanda had just picked up that book when she saw Noah co in, and she noticed his eyes were red and he looked very agitated.
She had a bad hunch, wondering if the psychologist had declared her a lost cause.
"Big brother?" she tentatively called, "Are you okay?"
"Yolanda, I’m sorry," Noah began, his voice choking up.
Yolanda was startled and struggled to get out of bed, "Big brother, what’s happened?"
She thought of sothing, "Did that doctor just say sothing?"
"Yolanda, we didn’t know you were subjected to so much unfairness." Noah pulled her into his arms, and the man who hadn’t cried since he was six sobbed softly, "I’m sorry, Yolanda. I’m sorry."
Yolanda’s body tensed, "Big brother, it’s all in the past, it’s alright now, really."
"Why didn’t you tell ?" Noah blad himself to the extre, "There were so many chances, why didn’t you speak up?"
"Big brother, aren’t I all right now?" Yolanda smiled faintly, "I’m really fine."
"Yolanda," Noah let go of Yolanda and looked at her seriously, "Yolanda, listen to , there’s sothing I must tell you."
"What is it? You tell , big brother," Yolanda said with slight nervousness.
Noah helped her lie down again before he slowly began, "Yolanda, do you know why Cooper suddenly got together with lissa Greenwood back then?"
Yolanda’s heart ached suddenly, and she shook her head, "He didn’t say, he just insisted that he had to marry lissa."
"Do you know why Cooper had to marry lissa?"
Yolanda laughed bitterly, "Perhaps because of love, I guess. The person he’s always loved is lis..."
"It’s not!" Noah interrupted her, "Yolanda, when we left back then, Cooper left his Jade Pendant in your hands."
"Jade Pendant?" Yolanda was baffled, "I’ve never seen any jade pendant. Could it be..."
She suddenly understood.
Noah nodded affirmatively, "Yes, you guessed right. lissa Greenwood took the jade pendant, beca our benefactor from that year, and said she couldn’t get pregnant. Cooper agreed to marry her out of gratitude."
It was like this?
Yolanda was dumbstruck; she had never imagined that all this was intricately linked to the past.
She never ntioned the incident of that year to anyone.
In fact, during college, Cooper once ntioned that he was kidnapped as a child. But hearing the word ’kidnapping’ was like twisting a knife in her heart, so she interrupted the conversation, never giving Cooper a chance to continue.
Thus, as if by fate, lissa Greenwood easily stole her credit and replaced her as the person Cooper was most thankful to.
How could this be?
Noah gently grasped Yolanda’s arm, "Yolanda, the divorce cooling-off period is almost over, you can tell Cooper the truth."
He felt a sinking sensation in his heart but still spoke with difficulty, "Now that you’re pregnant, Cooper definitely won’t divorce you."
Yolanda was completely dazed, as if she had yet to digest the news.
"Yolanda," Noah made sure she was comfortable, "rest well these next few days, and when the ti cos, I’ll take you to Cooper, and I’ll testify for you."
"Big brother..." Yolanda clutched Noah’s arm, "Let’s not tell Cooper about this yet, let think about it for a while."
"What do you need to think about?" Noah was sowhat puzzled, "Don’t you know your own feelings for Cooper? You still love him; you can’t let go of him."
"I don’t know, my mind is a ss right now." Yolanda was truly distressed and even loath to speak.
She smiled bitterly, "Perhaps I do still love him, can’t let go of him, but... didn’t he easily push away?"
"He was deceived," emphasized Noah, "It’s all because of that manipulative woman, lissa Greenwood. She’s just too cunning."
"Maybe," Yolanda was truly exhausted, "Big brother, I want to sleep for a while."
"Okay, then you rest well." Noah could see that Yolanda was indeed not looking well.
Was he impulsive just now? Should he not have told Yolanda everything?
He left the dical office and, as if possessed, went to Adam Sterling. As soon as he entered, he sat on the chair, sulking without saying a word.
Adam Sterling waited for a long ti and seeing that he kept silent, mocked, "If you have nothing to say, get lost. I can’t cure muteness here."
"I’m not your patient," Noah glared at him.
"I think you will be soon," said Adam Sterling, amusedly crossing his arms, "Noah Coldson, let’s not pretend we’re friends. You’d better keep your distance from , or you’ll regret it."
Noah watched him cautiously, "Adam Sterling, can’t you just act like a human? Must you bring that professional act into your personal life?"
"If you don’t need my expertise," Adam Sterling glanced outside, "why not go to Alex Johnson and those brats? My dear captain, you can’t have it both ways. This concubine can’t do it!"
