Noah Coldson disregarded everything, dragging the person toward the infirmary, "Today you must go, there’s no room for negotiation."
"Fine." Adam Sterling retorted with an angry laugh, "Let show you my ability, what ’Executioner’ ans."
Noah’s expression changed.
Adam continued, "Does that woman have severe depression? Or is it mild? Guess how long it would take to turn her into a severe case?"
"Noah!" Finally, Noah stopped in his tracks.
Because he knew that Adam did what he said, and that Adam indeed possessed that capability.
Adam was notorious within the entire system because he had done sothing that both astounded and frightened everyone.
At that ti, Noah was abroad when he received a serial killer case. The killer was too cruel and cunning, causing the local police to seek their help.
Later, they caught the killer, but due to insufficient evidence, could not sentence him heavily.
Everyone knew the killer deserved death, but they could only watch him walk free.
The killer was extrely cruel, with no signs of repentance, even provoking them again and again.
Noah rembered that many in the team needed psychological support at that ti, and gradually, Adam learned the full details of the case, after which, he volunteered to provide psychological support for the killer.
Everyone was puzzled and even angry, but Adam insisted.
Noah secured the permission for him.
In just a month, Adam only took a month to make the killer confess all his cris, and then, after another half a month, the killer committed suicide in prison.
So, Noah knew that Adam ant what he said, he released Adam’s arm, his tone almost pleading.
"She’s a mother with two children in her womb, and she just had a car accident..."
Adam stopped his departing steps and turned back to look at Noah, "You made sobody pregnant?"
"Not mine." Noah replied helplessly, then he implored again, "Please help her."
Adam’s expression beca even more interesting, clearly not expecting this turn of events, but he didn’t say much more and headed toward the infirmary first.
Noah finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly followed, briefly explaining Yolanda Greenwood’s situation on the way.
Adam quickly concluded, "So you’re saying she’s just a potential patient, my dear commander, aren’t you a bit overanxious?"
"Please help." Noah, fearful that Adam might change his mind, insisted, "Just talk to her, and I’ll be at your beck and call for anything you need in the future."
Adam couldn’t help but laugh, "Okay, commander, I have a few pairs of stinky socks in my room. Go wash them."
"At your command!" Noah really did turn and leave at that.
Shaking his head, Adam went off to the infirmary.
After having breakfast, Yolanda Greenwood, bored out of her mind, had picked up a book titled "The History of Surgical Developnt" from the shelf and started reading.
Seeing a stranger enter, clad in a white coat, she tensed and sat up straight, "Hello, are... are you a doctor here?"
"Sort of. Soone asked to co check on you." Adam entered nonchalantly, glancing at the book in Yolanda’s hands, he inquired, "Interested in dicine?"
Yolanda quickly shook her head, "No, I’m just really bored."
She put the book back in place, cautiously peering behind Adam.
"Stop looking, soone is off washing my stinky socks." Adam took a seat and after observing Yolanda for a mont, he began, "Noah told you’re prone to depression, but I think that’s a complete nonsense."
"Eh?" Yolanda widened her eyes in shock, quickly shaking her hands in denial, "No, no, I’m fine."
Adam nodded, already convinced that the woman before him indeed had mild depression.
However, people experiencing setbacks, especially illness, tend to have brief monts of depression, and it’s fine as long as they can adjust themselves in ti.
"When did you et Noah?" He seamlessly continued the conversation.
"A long ti ago when he was only six, and I was four," Yolanda responded with a smile.
"How did you et?" Adam asked further, "As far as I know, the Coldson Family is eminent and not easily befriended."
Sharp words indeed.
Thinking back, perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence after all. The Greenwood Family must have needed sothing from the Coldson Family at that ti.
Yolanda pondered before responding, "It was on a small island. Both our families were vacationing there and happened to et each other."
Adam curled his lips slightly, "Surely your Family Head paid a hefty price for that information."
Yolanda awkwardly tugged at the corner of her mouth, too embarrassed to know what to say.
"Anything unforgettable happen on the island?" Adam inquired further.
Yolanda hesitated before she spoke, "Kidnappers ambushed the island, and the children from both families were taken."
Throughout the conversation, Adam observed Yolanda, not missing any minute expression.
At this point, he realized they had hit a critical subject.
He probed quietly and learned of the verbal abuse Yolanda received from her family after rescuing soone.
Considering Yolanda had been only four years old at the ti, Adam’s expression turned grim.
"Alright, that’s enough for today." He pulled out a pink candy from his pocket and handed it over.
Yolanda looked puzzled, pointing at herself?
"This is a reward you deserve," Adam said with a smile, "I hope you don’t mind that it’s over twenty years late."
In that mont, Yolanda felt as if her heart had been struck.
She took the candy, quickly lowering her head because she didn’t want Adam to see her reddening eyes.
Patting her head conveniently, Adam complinted, "You did well, you really are the best little girl I’ve ever t."
By the ti Yolanda looked up again, Adam had already left.
She now vaguely ca to her senses, not knowing why, but she had spoken about that incident.
Throughout her life, she had never spoken of it to anyone.
Yolanda couldn’t help but silently comnd the psychiatrist’s skill; now she realized that neither knew each other’s nas.
Adam walked back, not far before he saw Noah waiting.
"How is she?" Noah approached quickly, visibly anxious.
Adam did not conceal, nodding his head, "Indeed, she’s a ticking ti bomb."
Noah beca even more worried.
Recalling the story he had just heard, Adam’s assessnt of Noah gained so additional insight.
As a commander like Noah, they were all trained with a high psychological defense and a strong ability to handle pressure, even for an expert like Adam, extracting information was limited to fragnts.
Most importantly, they were not allowed to analyze Noah without his permission.
"Didn’t expect our commander to have such a soft mont," Adam said half-jokingly.
In fact, he had always known that there was a surprising presence within Noah’s heart.
Now, he seed to have touched the edge of that presence.
Adam felt a rush of anticipation.
