The moon and stars are sparse outside the window.

The lights inside are warm and yellow.

Eleanor looked at the man steadily, her mind struggling to comprehend, yet sohow very clear, her whole being caught between contradiction and clarity.

"What’s wrong?" Adrian raised his brows slightly and helplessly picked her up, "Speak."

Eleanor stood up straight, looking down at him from above.

Just as she was about to say sothing, there ca a "bang bang bang!" knocking sound from the living room.

Eleanor awoke as if from a dream and imdiately turned to open the door.

"Madam, I’m here to take President Grant back to the hospital." Charles Rhodes looked determined outside the door, "I didn’t an to disturb you, but President Grant hasn’t replied to my ssages; his health hasn’t fully recovered, the hospital has been urging us..."

Adrian happened to roll out in his wheelchair.

"Didn’t you say Charles was coming to pick you up?" Eleanor questioned.

Adrian said nothing and glanced at Charles.

Charles felt sweat pouring down his forehead, wanting to close the door imdiately.

Being a ’loyal minister’ is really hard!

-

Adrian returned to the hospital room, and imdiately a group of doctors and nurses ca to check him. Fortunately, since he was in a wheelchair, his body hadn’t suffered any secondary injuries.

Adrian saw Eleanor suddenly heading out the door and imdiately called to her: "Where are you going?"

Eleanor had just taken two steps and said speechlessly, "To answer the phone!"

Adrian: "..."

The surrounding doctors and nurses exchanged glances, all stifling laughter.

President Grant looked like a big puppy afraid of being abandoned by his owner!

Eleanor received a call from Eugene Winslow.

"You want to let Mia Winslow off the hook?" Eleanor interrupted the other party’s insincere inquiries.

Eugene was silent for a few seconds, appearing helpless, "Eleanor, she is your sister after all, and you’re safe now; we’re all family. A harmonious family leads to prosperity, so why not just let it go?"

"She is the daughter brought by Aunt Yvonne, is there any blood relation with , and yet she’s considered my sister?"

Eleanor’s words made Eugene shudder all over and instinctively wanted to say ’yes,’ but forcibly held back.

The fact that he has an illegitimate daughter from before marriage is so shaful, he can’t let anyone know!

But why did Eleanor suddenly ask this?

Could she have found out sothing?

...Impossible!

The fact that Mia Winslow is his biological daughter is only known to him, Yvonne, and Mia themselves; there’s no way a fourth person could know!

"Eleanor, even if there’s no blood relation, we’ve lived together for so many years, Mia has called ’Dad’ for so many years, you can just do your father a favor, can’t you?"

Eleanor gave a silent, cold laugh.

Why should she do him a favor?

"But, Adrian also got hurt this ti; whether to forgive Mia Winslow, isn’t up to to decide."

"Adrian likes you so much, just say a sincere word, the Grant Family certainly won’t be a problem!" Eugene imdiately replied.

He even wants her to smooth things out with Adrian and the Grant Family, what nerve!

"And Jude Winslow? Jude almost had an accident because of her, are you not concerned about that too?"

Eugene’s voice imdiately turned cold: "I’ll certainly educate Mia on this!"

ntioning his beloved son getting hurt, Eugene was truly angry; Eleanor only felt infinite irony.

"Alright, I won’t file a lawsuit against Mia Winslow anymore."

"Good! Good! Really my good daughter!"

Having achieved his goal, Eugene quickly hung up the phone.

If Eugene had been there, he would have seen Eleanor saying compromising words, but with a face full of mockery and coldness.

Not filing a lawsuit, does it an Mia Winslow won’t receive punishnt?

Since Eugene and Yvonne both want to shelter Mia Winslow, then they can enjoy blessings together and bear hardships together!

Eleanor found a gossip revelation account: [want to hear so insider gossips about the Winslow Family? Interested?]

Eleanor stood still after sending the ssage, suddenly feeling a gaze on her.

She looked up—

A man held a beautiful bouquet a few ters away, smiling graciously at her, unknown how long he had been watching, as if waiting for her to notice him.

"Senior, you’re here?" Eleanor put away the phone, delightedly said.

"Here to visit you." Julian Jacobs raised the flowers in his hand slightly, glanced at Eleanor’s hand, "Your hand isn’t convenient, I’ll hold the flowers for you."

"Alright!" Eleanor loved the flowers, thanked and said, "Actually, I’ve already been discharged."

Julian concealed the resentnt in his heart, "I should have co a few days ago, but I was in the USA, it took so ti to return, very sorry for not coming in the first place."

The USA has advanced dical conditions, Eleanor imdiately asked, "Were you uncomfortable, did you go for treatnt? What’s wrong with you?"

Seeing Eleanor so concerned for him, Julian couldn’t help but laugh, "Eleanor, why are you so concerned about my health?"

Eleanor blinked, trying to appear natural: "Just thinking your situation is more special."

"It was just a regular check-up, not feeling unwell." Julian said as he walked up to Eleanor, "Do you have ti tonight? Let treat you to a al?"

Eleanor suddenly rembered she had previously promised to treat Julian to dinner after her hand recovered.

"Yes, definitely yes!"

"She doesn’t."

A male voice rang simultaneously with Eleanor’s.

Adrian appeared in his wheelchair at the hospital room door, wearing a slight smile but with eyes completely void of warmth, only indifference.

"Young Master Grant, you look like you’ve recovered well." Julian showed no surprise at Adrian’s appearance.

Eleanor imdiately returned and asked irritably, "Why are you out again? Doctors told you to stay in bed!"

In asserting his territory, Adrian grabbed Eleanor’s hand, but his gaze was fixed on Julian nearby, silent tension spreading in the air.

Two seconds later, Julian was the first to retract his gaze and looked at Eleanor: "Eleanor?"

He was continuing the earlier topic.

"I have ti." Eleanor nodded, "But let treat you."

She previously promised to treat soone to dinner, wouldn’t stand them up.

"Eleanor!" Adrian almost gritted out the na.

Eleanor looked at him with an expression saying ’Why are you calling ?’

"I’ll treat." Adrian suddenly turned to Julian, smiling, "There’s no reason for a woman to pay, right? Young Master Jacobs, what would you like to eat?"

Julian smiled: "Young Master Grant, you should need more bed rest, don’t overreach."

Overreach?

Is it possible for a man to be told he’s overreaching?

Adrian was about to say he didn’t need to, but the wheelchair suddenly moved.

Eleanor was already pushing him into the hospital room, turning her head and saying to Julian: "Senior, I’ll be right back!"

The caregiver in the hospital room was very sensible to leave the room.

Adrian trapped Eleanor’s waist with his hands, not allowing her to move.

"You can’t go, Zia Winslow!"

Eleanor’s waist felt a bit itchy, she twisted but couldn’t escape, thinking he was being inexplicable.

"Why not? I’ve had als alone with Senior Jacobs before; he won’t harm ."

Adrian laughed angrily.

He won’t harm you.

He definitely wants to pursue you!

Adrian’s jealousy boiled over, bringing up past issues: "When did you ever have als alone with him?"

Eleanor kept a straight face, "Probably when you were with Mia Winslow."
