Eleanor was very pleased with his frustrated look, grabbing her phone and bag, "I’m leaving first!"
"Eleanor!"
"Hmm?"
Adrian Grant lightly pressed his thin lips together, and after a few seconds, he asked, "I need to eat too."
Eleanor was dumbfounded.
He held it in for so long, and this is all he ca up with?!
"Then eat, haven’t they arranged als for patients for you at the old mansion?" Eleanor pretended not to notice his small tantrum, deliberately making him flounder.
Who asked him to upset her before!
Adrian stared at her in silence, emotions swirling in his eyes.
Before Eleanor left, she instructed the nurse and the bodyguards to look after Adrian Grant and not let him get out of bed casually.
As soon as Eleanor left, Adrian tried to step out, but the nurse stopped him, using his duties as an excuse: "Young Master, the Young Mistress just said you need to rest well!"
Adrian gave him an icy stare.
The nurse stood his ground, nearly in tears.
In the end, Adrian was finally persuaded to stay put.
Senior Jacobs, Senior...
What kind of senior is that, trying to make her so happy!
When Lance Lowell arrived with supplents and fruit to visit, he saw Adrian Grant sitting on the hospital bed with a dark face, several docunts in front of him, yet he hadn’t even turned a page.
"Why are you here?" Adrian Grant asked.
"Seems like President Grant isn’t too happy to see ." Lance plopped down on the couch, directing the nurse to wash apples. Once done, he didn’t bother with Adrian Grant and started eating, "Well, considering your wife is out on a date with another man and you’ve only got for company, can you be happy—Hey!"
Halfway through his sentence, Adrian Grant threw an apple from his bedside table at him, which Lance caught securely.
In consideration of Adrian Grant being a patient, Lance kindly said, "Eleanor asked to keep you company, aren’t you happy?"
Adrian Grant couldn’t muster any joy, kept a cold face, and said nothing.
Lance tossed a few blueberries into his mouth, laid-back, and only after finishing asked, "Still not planning to divorce?"
Adrian Grant finally reacted.
He seed to hear sothing utterly ridiculous: "I never planned to divorce from the start?"
Lance looked at him, bewildered for a few seconds, confird he wasn’t joking, and then nodded knowingly.
Indeed, to risk one’s life for a kidnapped Eleanor, to endure explosions and gunfire, it’s certainly not an ordinary sentint.
As for that Mia Winslow?
Lance never believed in emotions; he never thought Adrian Grant liked Mia Winslow either.

Last ti they had Cantonese cuisine, this ti Eleanor selected a light fusion restaurant.
As the waiter served the dishes, Julian Jacobs specifically asked them to place so near Eleanor.
Eleanor blinked in surprise; those happened to be her favorites.
"Senior, you..."
"Did I rember your preferences wrong?" Julian Jacobs smiled and asked.
"All correct! Senior, you’re so thoughtful and have a great mory!" Eleanor was pleasantly surprised; nobody dislikes being rembered.
Julian Jacobs’ smile broadened. He scooped a small bowl of black-bone chicken soup with mushroom for Eleanor and said, "I don’t pay attention to everyone."
Eleanor hesitated, glancing at him.
Julian Jacobs added, "Paying attention to everyone is tiring."
Eleanor felt sothing odd.
When he said, ’I don’t pay attention to everyone,’ she felt like he was hinting at sothing.
Yet, when he followed with, ’paying attention to everyone is tiring,’ it seed to imply she was just one among many he cared for, and she shouldn’t overthink it.
"The debate competition is at the end of the month, our school is hosting, rember to co back." Before Eleanor could figure it out, Julian Jacobs changed the topic.
Eleanor nodded.
Julian Jacobs continued, "During these special tis, why don’t I arrange for a few people to protect you?"
"No, no!" Eleanor imdiately declined, "Adrian Grant has already arranged it."
Julian Jacobs’ chopsticks montarily paused before continuing as usual.
He seed to casually gossip, "Weren’t you planning to separate from him before?"
Eleanor bit her lip, feeling a bit embarrassed gossiping about her marriage with Senior Jacobs.
She didn’t expect Julian Jacobs to be interested in these matters.
"Hmm... so things happened recently, no matter what, I’ll have to wait until he’s fully recovered." Adrian Grant was injured because of her, she had this responsibility and obligation.
"He doesn’t want to divorce, right?" Julian Jacobs asked.
Eleanor looked at him in shock, "Most people outside probably think it’s who doesn’t want to divorce, why do you think otherwise?"
"Because those people are blind."
——Soone as good as Eleanor, of course, Adrian Grant wouldn’t want to divorce.
Eleanor was amused by Julian Jacobs’ sharp words, assuming he was defending her.
As she laughed, a strand of hair fell down.
Before she could raise her hand, Julian Jacobs had already tucked the strand behind her ear.
This gesture was too intimate, carrying a hint of ambiguity.
Eleanor was startled, her almond eyes widening at him.
"Sorry."
Julian Jacobs withdrew his hand, hiding it behind him, gently feeling his fingers, relishing the earlier sensation.
"Ah, no, it’s nothing." Eleanor, seeing his candor, felt guilty, "It’s just not being used to it, my problem."
Julian Jacobs sighed internally.
Just a verbal apology from him, and she started to self-reflect.
A person this good, no wonder Adrian Grant bullies her!
Just then, Eleanor’s phone rang.
It was Lance Lowell.
"Eleanor, your husband isn’t behaving, insisted on going out, and ended up falling." Lance’s voice carried a ’I can’t do anything, let him be’ kind of helpless tone.
Eleanor instantly stood up, said she’d head back right away, and ended the call.
"What’s wrong?" Julian Jacobs asked.
"Adrian Grant’s in a bit of trouble, I..." Halfway through, Eleanor rembered she invited Julian Jacobs to dinner and was leaving midway, making it difficult for her to voice it out.
"I’ll take you back to the hospital." Julian Jacobs offered.
"Senior..." Eleanor looked at him, very apologetic.
Julian Jacobs helped her with her bag and said with a smile, "Let’s go, the patient cos first."
He emphasized the word ’patient.’
If Eleanor paid more attention to Julian Jacobs, she would notice the lack of genuine joy in his eyes.
"Thank you, Senior!"
Julian Jacobs suddenly turned and asked, "Next ti I’m sick, will you be this worried about , too?"
Eleanor couldn’t bear to hear him talk about being sick, quickly ’spat-spat-spat’ three tis, saying very seriously, "Don’t say such things! You won’t get sick, you’ll be just fine!"
The bit of gloom Julian had from Adrian Grant’s antics dissipated slightly, and he couldn’t help but smile down to his eyes, asking Eleanor, "Eleanor, why do you care about so much? It seems like you really value my health."
Eleanor nervously avoided his gaze, not daring to look at Julian Jacobs.
Julian Jacobs raised his hand, gently rubbing her head, not asking further.
He gave her ample freedom and rights, since she didn’t want to talk, he didn’t ask.
Why care?
Why value?
Why, does it matter?
The point isn’t that she cares about him and values him?
-
At the hospital.
Adrian Grant reminded Lance, "Eleanor holds grudges."
Lance looked unfazed, "I’m not flirting with her friends, she rembers grudges but can’t retaliate."
Young Master Lowell never expected his words would one day beco prophetic.
