"Co, let’s have another drink!"
"Haha, today is truly a wonderful day!"
"Agreed, we get to have an excuse to slack off. Who could have imagined an outbreak of berserk slaves would occur here?"
Zach’s expression was unchanged when he heard the chatterings.
"Do pardon the loudness." He said softly. "The custors have been frustrated lately, so they are speaking their mind aloud to vent."
His outright disregard of their conversation versus the disaster outside showed his coldness.
Almost every citizen in Velastra was twisted in their mind, with them all believing the lower beings deserved nothing good.
Mirelle seed to have also gotten used to their behavior. She remained silent and stoic as well, showing zero hints of anger or frustration.
"By the way, Miss Elise, who are these two accompanying you?" Zach suddenly raised the question. He recognized Elise, but not Leonard and Mirelle.
These two also didn’t seem to be mbers of the Death Guards, either, given their clothing appeared quite elegant and luxurious.
"They are the latest batch of nobles who joined the Noble Faction," Elise responded very naturally. It was as if she had gotten used to deceiving others that it beca second nature for her to co up with plausible lies on the spot.
Her natural deceitfulness also made Leonard relieved about making her sign a new magic contract with him to prove her loyalty.
"The latest batch of nobles?!" Zach hurriedly bowed his head and greeted the two with even more respect.
Although there were a ton of nobles who joined the Noble Faction frequently, there weren’t many who were granted the privilege to access their core secret.
Not to ntion, to be guided by the personal Death Guard of Marquis Darius made it obvious of their importance.
’The Marquis must have wanted to guide them through the process to beco familiar.’ Zach didn’t suspect anything was amiss. The deanor that Leonard exuded was indeed extraordinary.
"Alright, continue to entertain the guests," Elise instructed before warning in a subtle threatening tone. "I’ll guide them to the cellars. Make sure no one is allowed to access it until we’re done."
’Seems like there’s going to be a big splash in Velastra soon.’ Zach bowed and adhered to the warning.
Shortly after Zach made his exit, Elise heaved a sigh of relief.
"We won’t have much ti, Master," Elise warned Leonard.
"Although we jamd the magic signal frequency, they would be inford in less than 10 minutes." She continued, emphasizing that Zach wasn’t a foolish person.
He might have been submissive and even sowhat timid right now. But the truth was that he was only playing along.
If it were confird that everything was authentic, then Zach would be safe and sound. After all, he didn’t offend or provoke Leonard in any way.
However, once Zach went to verify and confirm that this was a hoax. He would quickly change his attitude and comnce a killing spree.
Not a single person who could hold so authority in Darius’s ranks was a clown who had no brain cells.
"No worries, I have my plans," Leonard said. He was no longer playing by their rules anymore. Instead, he was going to do things his way, even if it ant disrupting the entire chessboard.
’I was foolish to think this world operates on the sa set of rules as my old world.’
Soti later, the trio walked downstairs and arrived at the cellar. The cellar contained many expensive wines, all of them being kept in good condition.
It wouldn’t even be an exaggeration to say these wines were more important and required protection than the lives of inferior beings in their eyes.
"Here, use the magic pouch and store all these wines." Leonard retrieved his pouch and ordered Mirelle.
"Eh?" Startled, Mirelle looked at him in confusion.
Why should they store these wines?
"What are you looking at for?" Leonard scolded. "Hurry up and store them!"
"R-Right away..."
As Mirelle began to store the expensive wines and empty out the cellars, Leonard told Elise to continue to lead the way.
’Since these wines are expensive, I can just sell them elsewhere and get enough funds to help restore the plight of Velastra.’ Leonard thought to himself.
None of these wines was a regular one. Each one of them cost a fortune, and he reckoned there would be nobles who wished to enjoy these.
Soti later, the secret compartnt in the wine cellar was activated by Elise.
Almost imdiately, the concealed sound inside the compartnt could be overheard from the outside.
"Hehe, what a pity that we can’t enjoy Nadia yet."
"Indeed, she still got her elder sister’s protection."
"Hmph, it won’t be for long. Once Marquis Darius tasted that bitch Elise, we’ll get to have our turn."
Hearing those remarks, Elise’s face darkened completely.
"Marquis Darius never bedded a woman more than once. He only enjoys virgin won, so even if their virginity is taken by him, he will still be disgusted." Elise explained to Leonard.
"There are tis when Marquis Darius even killed the woman right after the deed because of unsatisfactory performance."
"No wonder you switched sides so readily." Leonard nodded his head. With such a bastard-like Master, who would want to be loyal to them?
If it weren’t for the fact that Elise had her little sister being held hostage, then Leonard reckoned Elise would have long rebelled. Even if the end result was death.
’Seems like she really wanted to earn my approval.’ Leonard was positive that Elise was placing hopes on him after his effort in extracting her poison.
Besides, the Death Guards inside the compartnt were a bunch of scums anyway.
Initially, he planned on poaching them to his side and using them. However, he decided against it now.
It wasn’t that he had so moral high ground or anything. He rely found it disdainful and dirty to accept such people into his ranks.
Who knows what kind of rotten ss they would cause for him?
"Mirelle, go and kill all the Death Guards that Elise pointed out," Leonard ordered coolly.
