Chapter 68: Last Raid: Lucien’s Hunting Ti
Onous, Amon and Leo stumbled out of the glowing purple arc, their bodies swaying.
"Ugh!" Leo, with his face covered by hard rocks, heaved dryly.
L-Leona.
His sister...
Amon’s legs and he slumped to the floor, his mind replaying Mina, Leona and Raven’s death repeatedly.
Especially— the mont his proud telekinesis didn’t work.
Why? What happened??
Amon’s self esteem crumbled, he subconsciously hugged his knees tightly, eyes blank.
Onous’s breath quickened, but he looked around alertly.
Hazy.
The surroundings were filled with pure white fog.
Not even the purple light from the glowing arc could pass through.
Shaaa...
The white fog moved slowly, like breathing.
Faint black shadows moves behind the fog—
Their figures resembled Leo and Amon.
Tap.
Onous’s eyes squinted.
A flash of black shadow appeared and disappeared, so fast that he couldn’t catch it.
Did he see it wrong?
In a place Onous didn’t see—
A silent figure swiftly moved between the fog, circling around the three people.
The moving fog perfectly hid the slight movent.
Only a faint black shadow remained.
Onous threw away the image that only flashed for a split second, his mind spinning fast.
Is this the dungeon boss’s chamber?
If so...
With a thumping heart, Onous gritted his teeth, his green eyes flashed coldly as he raised his voice.
"Amon! Leo! Focus! We are not out yet!"
"W-what? Not...out?"
Amon and Leo were stunned.
They scrambled to stand up and looked around alertly,
Fog. Fog everywhere.
Amon looked down and could barely see his own palm.
"Where...is this?"
Onous’s green mist swirled around him and touched the white fog, slowly dyeing in green.
He judged the distance between him and the others by the green fog and the white fog.
A few steps away.
But the fog was in the way.
"Amon. Use telekinesis to disperse the fog, " Onous ordered coldly, his mist still silently dyed the white fog green.
"Ah! Yes!" Amon slowly closed his eyes and an invisible energy slowly swept out of his body, pushing the breathing fog slightly.
Throb.
His head ached.
The fog only moved slightly— clearing the path a few centitres away.
Tap.
As the fog moved—
A figure slowly lood several ters behind Amon.
It walked closer—
Tap.
Onous’s irritated voice rang.
"That’s it?? Damn it!"
Onous started to walk around, the sound of his footsteps overlapped with the faint footsteps.
Tap.
"A-ah, I’m out of energy..." Amon mumbled anxiously.
He looked around the tiny clear zone around him, his eyes caught sight of a slithering shadow behind the fog.
Huh?
"Leo? Did your rock crumble— "
A faint wind blew from behind.
Amon was about to turn around when—
Stab.
A stabbing pain pierced his lungs.
Amon’s eyes slowly widened.
What...?
He slowly lowered his neck stiffly.
Sting.
A long, black claw covered in sharp fur pierced out of his chest.
Tak. Tak. Tak.
Red blood trickled down.
"Cough!"
Blood spurted out of Amon’s lips.
His mind blurring.
In his hazy vision, the claw swiftly retracted.
Splat.
Blood blood on his chest.
Ah...
Amon’s body slowly fell down.
Thud.
The claw slowly hooked towards the body and a glowing ball of energy floated out, landing on the claw.
Srrkk.
The claw brought the ball of energy closer and a mouth opened wide, swallowing it in one go.
Gulp.
A red tongue stuck out, licking the fangs.
Ah...
A warm feeling washed over and the system panel popped up.
[Main dungeon’s energy reserve: 130%]
[Warning! Warning!]
[Dungeon energy overload!]
Crack.
The third leg on the back slowly pierced out, growing longer and longer.
The sll of blood slowly wafted from the still body.
Onous and Leo, who was a few steps away, imdiately turned their heads towards Amon.
"Amon..?"
The silhouette behind Amon swiftly moved away.
Its figure blended back into the thick fog.
Onous and Leo saw a glimpse of the moving shadow— a humanoid figure.
Their hearts simultaneously skipped a beat.
What...was that?
Whip!
They imdiately distanced themselves from Amon, sweat dripping down their forehead.
They...didn’t sense anyone coming!
Leo raised his arms covered with thick rocks.
His eyes hidden behind a layer of thick earthy rock glead, scanning his surroundings.
Shaaa..
The fog around him moved.
The wind suddenly blew and a blurry black shadow shot out—
From behind.
Stab!
Leo felt a strong force drilling into his rock armour.
The rocks peeled off, but before the force dug deeper, Leo flipped around, his arms punched the air behind him.
"Ha!"
The hard rock clashes with a thin, sharp claw.
Clang!
Sparks burst.
The hard rocks on the fists slowly scraped away.
Pebbles and dust hit the floor.
In a split second, the black claw instantly vanished into the fog.
The blurry shadow flashed— leaving only the white fog moving ominously.
This ti, Leo clearly saw the silhouette’s figure.
A slender body.
A long, slender thing swaying behind.
Claws— and strange things growing from the back.
A...humanoid monster?
Leo breathed erratically, his heart almost jumped out of his chest.
Tak. Tak.
The rock armour at his back showed signs of cracking.
His proud rock armor—
Almost breached.
Leo’s heart tightened. He mumbled in a low voice, barely loud enough for Onous to hear.
"G-guild leader."
Gulp. Leo’s throat moved.
"I-it was here."
"It...looked human."
"What?"
Onous’s breath quickened, a feverish light exploded in his eyes.
A greedy light almost flooded out of his eyes.
A humanoid monster?
The only monster that could drop an "item" ?
Onous clutched his chest tightly, calming down his breath.
Deal with it first.
Onous murmured and a ball of energy poured out.
[Poison Storm]
The poison mist spread out from his feet, quickly slithering throughout the ground.
Ssshhh.
The white fog covering the ground slowly turned green.
Lucien, not far from the place, paused for a split second.
The green fog had already crept to the sole of his feet.
Sting.
A stinging, numbing pain enveloped his bare feet.
Sizzle.
The slimy liquid blocked the green mist, but the liquid mbrane slowly thinned.
Lucien’s four eyes flickered.
The third leg on his back slowly pierced out of his back, growing longer.
Grrkkk.
Lucien gritted his feet and kicked the ground.
Tap!
In a flash, his figure disappeared— and reappeared on the wall.
Crack.
The three legs on Lucien’s back pierced the wall, nailing his body still.
Sway.
The long tail slithered on the wall.
Lucien’s green eyes penetrated through the fog.
The 360° vision clearly displayed the two figures moving around.
Swish! Swish!
Leo walked around while punching the air, his figure getting closer to the glowing crystals at the front.
At that sight, irritation surged, as if soone invaded his territory.
—Kill....
The deep voice rang in his mind and Lucien’s figure slowly moved along the wall.
Crack. Crack.
The three legs pierced the wall repeatedly.
Leo’s heavy footsteps completely masked the cracking noise.
Creak.
In the blink of an eye, Lucien’s figure was right above Leo.
Just a few ters away.
Sway.
Lucien’s long, thick tail slowly slithered in the air.
Too far.
Lucien opened his mouth and a ball of white webs quickly ford.
Whirl. Whirl. Whirl.
The mont the thread ball was completely ford, Lucien spat it out with a speed close to a bullet.
Swish!
The ball cut through the air, landing right on Leo’s body.
Splat!
"Ah!"
The web blood into a net, wrapping Leo tightly.
Lucien’s claw held the other end of the web— and yanked it hard.
Tak!
"W-what!" Leo felt his body being dragged to the wall and he imdiately turned around, squirming to break free.
The sharp rock armour on his body slowly cut the stretched web.
Tear.
Lucien’s claw tugging the web tightened, veins popped up on his arms.
Before Leo could completely break free—
His body lurched.
His feet left the ground.
Shrkkk.
Lucien’s tail coiled.
The wind whipped Leo’s back and the next second—
A long shadow struck him hard.
Stab!
Sizzle.
A burnt sll wafted.
Tak. Tak.
The hard rock lted, crumbling.
A sharp pain pierced through the spine.
Leo’s eyes snapped wide, his pupils quivering.
Im— possible.
