Chapter 28: Sign A New Tenant: Lurenzo
[20:00]
Lucien’s mind spun around, he could feel so courageous spiders resist the aura, their speed slowed down to a snail but they still crawled towards him and Luren.
In the dark, the eyeball drone blinked, its crimson irises faithfully recorded the mont.
Brother Yong and the others outside were all holding their breaths.
Most people didn’t notice that the staff had already been used twice but didn’t work, but the sharp-eyed Brother Yong felt that sothing was wrong.
"Does the staff really don’t work? Is it fake?"
As Brother Yong’s followers and the hunters at the camp around the gate subtly felt the sa way, Lucien could feel the faint thread tying his whole body trembled.
It was the contract with the black market.
The thread tightened, as if about to pull him into the void!
Even Luren felt the sa way, and the force was way stronger than the one on Lucien.
"M-my lord, do you not know how to use it..."
Luren was still holding onto a sliver of hope.
He hoped that the young lord would use his own tricks to fool the masses!
Yes! The young lord could definitely do it!
In reality, Lucien’s inner soul was yanking his hair and kicking Luren’s mini figure.
What to do, what to do?? Is there a landlord’s skill that can imitate explosions?!
Lucien’s mind flew to one of the landlord’s must-have skill—
Demolition.
There must be a skill like that!
But is it innate, or...acquired?
The system chid in at the right ti.
DING! [Dungeon Landlord’s Innate skills: ]
[House Managent Skill Set (Legendary)]
[Demolition (Legendary)]
[Description: All construction started with demolition!]
[Reminder: It only works in your own territory. If it’s used in other territories, it will only be an illusion.]
[Estimated skill recovery ti: 24 hours]
Yes!! It’s innate!!
But...it’s fake.
[18:00]
Lucien stroked the staff with stiff fingers as he spoke in a cold tone, his entire conversation with the system only lasted for a beat.
"I know how to use it. But before I test it for real..."
It’s been 24 hours since he signed Mumu.
Lucien’s eyes swept over Luren’s body.
Why try to be the black market’s rchant when he could enslave— ah, no, sign one as his tenant?
The system imdiately assisted.
DING! [A suitable sa-rank potential tenant is detected!]
[Get the deposit and sign the contract.]
Perfect.
An invisible force surged over Lucien’s fingertip and a glowing piece of paper slowly appeared out of thin air, followed by a panel that only Lucien could see.
[Sign A Contract (Legendary)]
[Estimated skill recovery: 24 hours]
Using the fake staff as a deposit—
"Sign this contract."
The paper flew into Luren’s face.
Tak!
Luren almost cursed out loud.
A slave contract?! Hell no!
But Lucien mouthed sowhere the eyeball couldn’t see.
Fake. Staff.
Boom!
Luren’s mind turned into a mush and he trembled. His arrogance crumbled and he imdiately grabbed the piece of floating paper.
"Okay, okay, I’ll sign!"
He didn’t see the words on the paper at all and just pressed his thumb onto one of the blank columns.
The blank column imdiately moved to the tenant’s side and the paper swiftly floated back to Lucien.
Lucien calmly pressed his thumb onto the paper and an invisible thread imdiately shot out to both him and Luren, binding them together.
Luren, who felt a new connection with Lucien, almost cried with no tears.
Ah! How did the almighty rchant who fooled even the biggest guild in town stumble because of a random young master??
Mumu, who could also feel a faint connection with the new human, whispered in a low voice.
"Muuuu..."
Bad uncle, you won’t abandon Mumu, right...
"Ssshhh, I won’t. That bastard isn’t as valuable as your toe."
Heh. That bastard’s only use is to toil around diligently!
Lucien stroked Mumu’s head as a virtual panel popped up.
DING! [Congratulations on signing the second tenant!]
[Contract period: 1 month]
[Tenants: 2/2]
[You can now check your tenant’s status window]
DING! [Every tenant cos with a surprise.]
[You have unlocked a new dungeon facility!]
[Landlord, you can choose your facility once you’re inside the main dungeon.]
Lucien ignored the new facility notice and imdiately opened the tenant’s status window.
DING! [Tenant information: ]
[Na: Lurenzo Froso
Race: Human
Ability: Fake Manufacturing
Rank: F
Potential: (Not enough authority)]
Lurenzo? Heh. Even the na is fake.
[15:00]
The contract imdiately disappeared into a thin air and Lucien moved his staff in a slow motion.
His eyes caught sight of the slow spiders finally arriving right above his head, their legs bent like a spring.
The spiders were about to kick their legs and pounce down—
But Lucien was faster.
He visualized an explosion above his head, right at where the spiders were gathering.
The staff in his hand was pointed at the crowd.
[Demolition (Legendary) (Fake)]
Boom!
A bright red fla suddenly appeared above Lucien’s head and an invisible shockwave spread throughout the area!
A faint heat swept over the spiders, catching the spiders off guard.
"Krieeekk!"
The startled spiders missed their steps and fell straight into the chasm, unable to even hang onto the giant spider web underneath.
Even the spiders hiding under the giant web trembled, the heat blasted over their skin and and they imdiately scattered away as fast as lightning!
The explosion was brief.
Soon, a cloud of dust broke from the point of explosion, covering the eyeball drone with a thick smoke.
Luren’s eyes widened and his jaw dropped to the ground.
What...the hell??
Does this young lord have an explosion-related skill?
What luck!!
Before Luren could react, Lucien kicked his b*tt and spoke in a cold voice.
"Move. Now!"
[10:00]
"Ah? Ah? Yes, yes!" The tall man lost all his bearing and imdiately beca as docile as a lamb, hurriedly leaving the place.
The eyeball drone captured the explosion scene clearly and when the two people moved, it followed along, the eyeball’s vision shifted from the billowing dust to the darker cave ahead.
Behind the eyeball, the smoke slowly dissipated, revealing...
An intact cave ceiling.
And the bewildered spiders.
Not a single scratch appeared on the cave’s stoke ceiling, not to ntion the spiders.
The spiders only felt a faint heat, retreated, and then...that’s it.
Nothing happened.
But no one, including Luren, saw the scene.
[10:00]
Brother Yong imdiately stood up and slapped his thigh excitedly.
"Oho! So that staff really worked! Either I used it wrongly or the staff was broken when I used it!"
The other followers and hunters watching the live broadcast through a 3D projection also sang praises to Brother Yong.
"Congratulations, you got good stuff, brother!"
"When those two co out, we should thank them and maybe apologize..."
"Huh? Wait."
Brother Yong saw the scene captured by the eyeball was unfamiliar.
It wasn’t the way back.
If anything, the eyeball drone seed to enter an enclosed cave full of white spider webs.
Basketball-sized white eggs glead with streaks of green, cluttered in a few groups.
That place...looked like the spider queen’s...nest.
Brother Yong almost bit his tongue as he shouted,
"What?? Why did they enter the spider queen’s nest??"
That’s the dungeon boss’s territory—
The core of the dungeon!
Brother Yong’s mind flickered.
This young lord...
He’s not right!
