Chapter 29: Gatekeepers & Queen

Brother Yong and the other hunters suspected sothing, but they imdiately dismissed it.

Heh. What could two people do? Clear the dungeon? Impossible.

Even if that young master looked impressive, surely he’s not that strong?

He looked like a mage-type awakener.

The mage-type awakener Lucien silently looked at the spider eggs the size of Mumu, the abacus in his mind clanking loudly.

Once he got this dungeon— heheheh.

Heheheh!

Lucien’s soul laughed like a villain but outside, he imdiately looked away, as if those eggs that could pay an ordinary person’s monthly salary were nothing in his eyes.

As they walked past the eggs, the sticky gazes all over them outside of the nest disappeared.

It suddenly beca calm, so calm that...

It was unsettling.

"Uh, that, my lord, why are we here?"

Luren— no, Lurenzo finally spoke his thoughts out loud.

Isn’t the test over? Shouldn’t they return?

If the young lord wanted to take so spoils, just those spider eggs were more than enough...

Lucien didn’t say anything, just staring ahead, his legs dragged.

[08:00]

A faint rubbing noise suddenly echoed from the dark.

Pause.

Both Lurenzo and Lucien stopped at the sa ti, their bodies tense.

Their vision was still dim, with only Mumu’s body acting as a light, but the eyeball drone imdiately captured the looming shadow hiding behind a cave wall ahead.

If the previous "small spiders" were the size of a mature golden retriever, this one...

It felt like standing in front of an elephant.

A heavy, rubbing noise sounded, followed by teeth clattering.

Clack. Clack. Clack.

Thick legs coated in a hard surface and sharp needle-like hairs moved nimbly, the edges blunt.

Fourteen dark green eyes stared at the two humans.

A pair of thick curved downward fangs flashed and a green saliva dripped to the web underneath, making the web tremble slightly.

Gulp.

Lucien swallowed. His scalp tingled and he almost scread, but then...

Another shadow moved.

Srrkkkkk...

A similar elephant-sized shadow appeared, this ti, on the right side.

The two shadows stood in front of the entrance to a smaller cave, just like gatekeepers.

The audiences who saw the two blurry shadows almost scread,

[Fck! Scared !]

[Momma! Are those tarantulas??]

But one couldn’t judge a dungeon monster with normal science.

Lucien’s instinct scread wildly and he was about to step back when one of the tarantulas suddenly raised its front legs!

Swish!

A flash of white burst out of the blunt edges, piercing the air like a bullet before blooming right in front of Lucien’s eyes.

!!

Lucien imdiately hugged Mumu and dodged to the left, but his body moved a few beats slower.

Splat!

"Ugh!"

The white thing stuck to his right side and Lucien instantly felt his arms bound tightly, the sticky feeling was the sa as the one under his feet.

Fck! Spider webs!

None of the spiders before spat out silks, but this one did.

"A-ah..." Lurenzo covered his mouth and bit his tongue as he scurried away, avoiding the two gatekeepers.

His heart beat fast and his mind flickered for a split second.

Damn it! Those are elite monsters— the

Web-spinner Spider!

This daddy had never seen one alive so close before!

[05:00]

Lurenzo really felt like bursting his bladder, but after the first spider shot out webs from their legs, the second one imdiately moved, its legs facing towards...Lurenzo.

"Ahh! Why isn’t the monster repellant working??"

Lurenzo hurriedly took out one of the iron tubes around his waist and the tube imdiately turned into a simple handgun.

Swish!

The second spider shot out the sa spider web but Lurenzo injected his energy into the hand gun and an energy bullet instantly shot out, blocking the web right at the center.

Bang!

The web imdiately wrapped around the energy bullet and both fell to the ground with a thud.

The energy bullet slowly disappeared, leaving only the sticky webs.

Lucien’s eyes instantly lit up.

Oho! So this bastard is still saving his energy, huh?

Lucien didn’t tear away the web around his right part of the body.

He tossed the staff fo Lurenzo and slowly dragged his body towards the two spiders.

"Hey! The hell! Are you crazy??" Lurenzo was so shocked that he almost kneeled.

In any contracts, if the owner died, the slave would also die!

Lurenzo, the man misled by his own thoughts, didn’t know that as a tenant, the landlord’s death wouldn’t affect him as much as Mumu, whose dungeon was bound to Lucien’s house.

But Lucien didn’t correct his misunderstanding and just pointed at the two spiders.

"Distract them. I need to go inside."

"What?? No way— "

Lucien took a nearby egg spider and threw it at Lurenzo’s body.

Crack! Splash!

The fragile egg imdiately cracked into pieces, green liquid and so unford embryos poured all over Lurenzo.

Lurenzo stiffened. He could feel the two spiders’ eyes instantly locked onto him.

"Hissss!"

A threatening hiss echoed from the two spiders, their bodies slowly moved away from the entrance, all the hair on their bodies stood up straight.

Fck. Fck. Fck!!

"Y-you owe

one!!" Lurenzo scread as he quickly turned around, luring the two spiders away.

In his empty palm, an illusory F-rank grenade flickered, slowly becoming solid.

[Fake Item Creation (Legendary)]

The mont the grenade appeared, Lurenzo threw it at the two spiders and a raging fire instantly burst out.

Boom!

"Kieekkk!!"

The spider web ground shook, the two spiders shrieked and thrashed wildly, but...

There wasn’t a single scratch on their body.

Lucien, who had deployed a similar tactic before: ...

As expected of you, faker.

[04:00]

"Four minutes! It will be over in four minutes!"

Lucien imdiately dragged his numb body towards the inner cave, the eyeball drone flying back and forth between the two people before fixing itself on Lurenzo, who was in a hot battle against the two spiders.

The visual effect pumped up the audience’s blood and they briefly ignored Lucien’s disappearing figure.

At the sa ti, Lucien stepped into the inner cave and the space widened to the size of half a football field.

Shaaa...

An invisible pressure rippled in the air.

A figure twice the size of the elephant spider outside lood, the balloon-like belly throbbed faintly.

The spider queen.

Grab her, force her to take out the dungeon core...

But before Lucien could even move—

"Krriiiii!!"

A high-pitched sound wave exploded, instantly hamring Lucien’s mind in a split second.

BOOM!
