Chapter 20: Weapon Peak! Tang Yuechen!

Chen Xuan silently slipped out of the Yin Yang Peak, evading everyone’s perception, Su Ying included.

He wasn’t planning to leave the Jade Pure Sect.

Rather, he flew towards the opposite side of the sect, where another of the sect’s primary peaks was located.

The sect was truly massive.

Its territory was vast enough to swallow several mortal kingdoms, with each peak acting similarly to a giant city.

Yet, with Chen Xuan’s power, he quickly streaked through it.

Before long, he hovered before a mountain.

Though this was not noticeable from the ground, the mountain’s bizarre shape was clear from his viewpoint.

With steep, elegant curved sides and a hollow top, the mountain resembled a giant furnace.

Or to be more accurate, a crucible commonly used to forge magic weapons.

Weapon Peak—one of the Jade Pure Sect’s most well-known Peaks.

It was easy to understand from its name that this peak’s main focus was on forging artifacts.

Combined with the Alchemy Peak, which refined elixirs, it served as a major source of the sect’s income.

Chen Xuan did not stop at the entrance.

His figure glided through the air and rushed towards its summit.

Whenever the guards tried to stop him, he flashed the symbol of the Peak Master, and they respectfully let him pass.

A few seconds later, as he descended onto the summit, he felt the temperature around him rise sharply.

At the same time, a shrill, furious voice rang out, overlapping with sobs and pleas for mercy.

"Trash! Is this how I taught you to refine weapons?"

"Even the lowly disciples tending the spirit fields can manipulate the flames better than you!"

"Did you get dropped on the head when you were a kid? Out! Leave immediately!"

Chen Xuan’s destination and the location of this noise were the same.

As he approached, he finally came face to face with its source.

The curses all stemmed from a young woman, while the sobs and cries echoed from several elderly men and women.

Each of them had a furnace before them, controlling the flames to forge artifacts, while the young woman stood to the side, commenting coldly.

Just when he was about to greet her, Chen Xuan saw the furnace of an elderly man explode.

It burst into flames and burned his gray beard to ashes.

Chen Xuan was hardly surprised.

This was something that would occur whenever Weapon Refiners failed, and even the most experienced among them would do so from time to time.

Yet, the young woman who served as their teacher showed no mercy.

She immediately cursed the elderly man’s lineage before slapping him across the face and sending him flying off the peak.

In Chen Xuan’s divine sense, the elderly man was clearly a Core Formation cultivator.

But when faced with the woman’s attack, he showed no signs of defending himself and offered no resistance.

In fact, a relieved smile crept up his face, and he allowed the momentum to carry him into the distance.

Chen Xuan grew speechless. He started to wonder whether he had come at the wrong time.

However, when he noticed the young woman turn to him and saw the happy smile that emerged on her face, he knew that he had no choice but to continue.

Before he could return the smile, a dark blur flashed at the corner of his vision.

He felt a pair of arms wrap around his head and push him into a soft, squishy place.

"Senior Brother Chen, you haven’t visited me in a long time!"

"I almost thought that you had found a new Junior Sister and forgotten me," the woman said, swaying wildly while pressing his face deeper into her towering peaks.

Chen Xuan struggled to breathe. He wished to say something, but each time he opened his mouth, his voice would be cut off.

It was only when he seemed about to asphyxiate that the woman’s grip on his head relaxed and she let him go.

Chen Xuan stepped back.

He instinctively took a few sharp breaths and looked up at the young woman with lingering fear. Or rather, at her proud chest.

He hadn’t expected that her "weapons" would still be this lethal even after he had reached the Late Stage of Core Formation.

If she had not let go on time, he might have suffocated to death.

Although people in his past life claimed that such a way of dying was their dream, Chen Xuan was certainly not among them!

If he were to die in such a shameful way, he would become the embarrassment of all cultivators!

It took a few moments for Chen Xuan to recover and for his breathing to return to normal.

He looked at the blue-haired woman, who donned a mask of innocence, and couldn’t help but complain.

"Tang Yuechen, haven’t I told you not to greet me in this way? Especially in front of others."

"Also, stop calling me Senior Brother. You are old enough to be my—"

Chen Xuan wanted to say that she was old enough to be his mother, but he recalled something and swallowed his words.

Glancing at Tang Yuechen, whose expression remained excited but whose left eye was twitching violently, he steered the conversation away from this topic before it was too late.

"Cough, cough," he spoke up.

"I happened to have a request. I brought your favorite Thousand-Year Butterfly Wine as a reward—"

His words were cut off halfway through.

This time, not of his own accord, but because Tang Yuechen took action.

In one moment, she flashed beside him, and in the next, she grabbed him by the scruff of his neck.

Then, carrying him like a kitten, she pulled him away and shot towards her residence.

It took only a split second for their outlines to fade away into the horizon.

Only the elderly men and women remained on the summit.

Seeing Tang Yuechen lead Chen Xuan away, they neither mocked him nor ridiculed him but burst into tears.

"The devil is gone!"

"That old demoness has finally left!"

An elderly woman staggered to the ground and howled at the sky, while the rest of her companions slumped down, echoing her words.

Their once-dead eyes regained their luster. They thanked Chen Xuan in their hearts and hoped that he would keep that woman away for as long as possible!

By the time Tang Yuechen let go, she and Chen Xuan had already reached her private residence.

She dropped him unceremoniously on a nearby chair and lay back on the sofa opposite him.

With a sigh, she raised her legs and placed them on the table, crossing them on top of each other and revealing her smooth calves in all of their majesty.

Her white dress pooled to the side and revealed her white thighs, leaving little to the imagination.

Such a scene would have made many men’s hearts flutter.

But Tang Yuechen couldn’t have cared less.

Devoid of the ethereal grace expected of a female cultivator, she took a cup out of her space ring and slammed it onto the table.

"Come on! Where is the wine?!"

"Let’s drink! Drink!" she shouted, banging on the table with her cup like a drunken tavern customer.

The jarring mismatch between her goddess-like appearance and her behavior nearly made Chen Xuan choke.

He instinctively wanted to scold her, but he quickly recalled this demoness’s behavior whenever someone prevented her from drinking.

Considering that he had come to ask a favor, he kept his mouth shut and produced the wine he had prepared.

An intoxicating, bittersweet aroma flooded the room. Its scent alone was enough to make even Foundation Establishment cultivators grow dizzy and see stars.

Chen Xuan had to consciously circulate his Spiritual Energy to suppress its effects.

He took out his own cup and filled them both.

Then, he exchanged a brief smile with Tang Yuechen before the two toasted their cups and downed the wine in a single gulp.
