Chapter 672: Chapter 621: The Most Important Thing Is Intent
Robert Griffith, who had always been in poor health, was sick and hospitalized, making the Griffith Family busy again. Upon hearing the news, Cherish Turner naturally called William Griffith.
“William, I’m just about to head to the hospital.”
“I’ll pick you up.”
“No need, I’ve already got a car. Let’s et at the hospital.”
Cherish rushed ho from the hospital, only to find that no one was in the apartnt. Cherry Blossom Garden seed to be empty. She received a ssage from her friend, telling her that the fish was in the kitchen. Sure enough, there was a big live fish in a bucket. Donning an apron, Cherish imdiately started cooking. After being busy for quite a while, she made a delicious fish soup. She poured it into a thermos, hurriedly changed her clothes, and headed back to the hospital.
Just as she was about to get in the car, Cherish received a call from William. They agreed to et at the hospital and hung up.
Cherish arrived at the hospital first, and William hadn’t arrived yet.
A flower delivery man stood in the hospital room with a huge basket of flowers, pleading for a signature. “Which one of you is Mr. Robert Griffith? These flowers are from Miss Giselle. Please sign for them.”
Robert didn’t even give him a proper glance, and while looking at a financial magazine, he ordered, “Take it away!”
“Sir, please sign for it. I won’t be able to explain myself otherwise!” The delivery man was quite distressed.
“That’s your problem!” Robert didn’t budge.
Cherish walked into the room and saw this scene. She asked in confusion, “Grandpa Griffith, what’s wrong?”
The delivery man imdiately approached Cherish to explain, as if he had found a savior. “Miss, these flowers are from Miss Giselle for Mr. Watson. But Mr. Watson refuses to sign for them.”
These days, Giselle had been sending flowers constantly, but most had been signed for by others.
“I’ll sign for it.” Cherish took the pen and signed, and the grateful delivery man left.
Robert lowered his magazine and glared at the flowers. “Throw the flowers out! I’m allergic to them! It’s unbearable!”
Left with no choice, Cherish took the flowers to the balcony.
“What did you bring?” Robert asked, looking at the thermos.
“I made fish soup, Grandpa Griffith. Please try so.” Cherish poured him a bowl, and Robert silently accepted it. He usually didn’t drink fish soup, but seeing her sincere face, he couldn’t bring himself to refuse and forced himself to drink it.
“How is it?”
Robert, holding the soup bowl, nodded. The taste was surprisingly good!
William also arrived, and as soon as he entered the room, he slled the delicious aroma.
“William, would you like so fish soup? There’s still more!” Cherish asked softly.
William looked at the fish soup and suddenly thought of sothing. Frowning, he asked, “Where did you get this fish from?”
“I had our friend buy it.”
“Was it in a bucket?”
“Yeah!” Cherish replied, puzzled. William gritted his teeth, “You can’t eat this fish!”
“Why?” Cherish was startled, wondering why they couldn’t eat the fish.
William said bitterly, “I caught this fish.”
Upon hearing that, Robert enjoyed the soup even more.
Cherish still didn’t understand but overheard Robert say, “Who knows if you really caught it? If you want to marry a wife, show
a fish first.”
As they left the hospital, their car was parked a short distance away, visible at a glance. Cherish carried the thermos and walked ahead, while William followed her silently. She excitedly discussed Robert’s upcoming 80th birthday, saying that choosing a gift was a difficult task, especially for soone like Robert. “William, Grandma said it’s Grandpa Griffith’s 80th birthday this year. What kind of gift should I give him? I can’t think of anything!”
Cherish suddenly turned to look at William, only to see a solemn expression on his handso face. She grew concerned, “What’s wrong?”
William gently held her hand, “Just give him anything; it’s the thought that counts.”
Although his words made sense, she still wanted to choose sothing special.
On the way back to Cherry Blossom Garden, Cherish tried her best to think of gift ideas, while William remained silent. Occasionally, when she asked for his opinion, he would briefly respond but wouldn’t say much. As they were about to reach their residence, William looked at the traffic lights ahead and asked in a low voice, “Aren’t you tired of going to the hospital every day to accompany him?”
