Chapter 870: Chapter 666: Please Stay Away from , Thank You_2
“That seems to be the man Viola shattered earlier.”
“It’s him, I wouldn’t mistake it.” Manu shook his massive head.
As long as he has seen a man once, he would never forget.
“Go probe him.”
Muska shot Manu a look, and without hesitation, Manu charged forward.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The ground trembled as Manu ran like a moving tank, yet the figure seed completely unfazed, still drifting aimlessly with a vacant expression.
“Wait!”
Muska suddenly stopped Manu’s attack as if realizing sothing.
He furrowed his brows, closely studying the pale-faced man, his gaze slowly tracing over the man’s entire body, paying particular attention to the collar, cuffs, and the first button on his outfit.
“It’s Alberto!”
Muska’s face turned to shock, “I rember hearing soone say that over a decade ago, he entered the higher Transcendent World. But how could he be here…?”
He raised his head to look at the distant peaks, his gaze flicking back and forth. A na that only existed in legends surfaced in his mind.
“Dragon’s Sanctuary!”
“This is the Dragon’s Sanctuary!!”
A flicker of ecstasy burst onto his face.
“What are you talking about?” Manu asked, confused.
“My dear, you don’t understand what the Dragon’s Sanctuary truly ans to us. It’s a place where the Dragonborn can undergo a second awakening.”
“It allows us to draw closer to our origin, purging impurities, and seeking the purest power hidden within our bloodline.”
“Legends say that upon reaching such a place, the Fourth Tier becos no longer an obstacle. One can ascend freely until reaching the end!”
Excitent filled Muska’s heart, “The peak of Fourth Tier—if I achieve this level, in the real world, I will be truly invincible.”
“Unless soone suppresses their power to co and trouble in the real world, I can do anything I wish!”
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s get going!”
Manu grinned and laughed.
“Wait.” Muska suddenly furrowed his brows.
“We are the fastest, possibly the first to uncover this secret.” He turned to Manu, “If you were also a Dragonborn, would you be willing to share the fruits of victory with others?”
“What if this fruit is only enough for one?”
A harsh glint flashed through Muska’s eyes.
“What are you worried about, my Muska?”
Manu scratched his head and asked.
“This is our chance. Others might not even discover the secret here; even if they do figure out their location, they won’t beat us to it.”
“If, at this point, we set up an ambush at the path they must take…”
Muska clenched his fist.
“With planning against the unprepared, they won’t expect an ambush from temporary allies!”
Manu quickly grasped Muska’s plan, “Wouldn’t that be dangerous?”
“If we do nothing and wait until we’re at the foot of the mountain, that would be the real danger.”
Muska analyzed.
“We’ve already crossed paths with Viola, and not long ago, do you still recall the venomous words of that red-haired woman?”
Muska’s words seed to trigger Manu’s mories.
“That woman said we were only fit to…”
“Enough!”
Manu roared, “Enough talk, tell —what should we do?”
“To avoid their potential alliance, we must defeat them one by one.”
“I’ve carefully observed; the female sorceress nad Amanda seems to have a Fla Dragon bloodline. Her bloodline purity is frighteningly high, and if she matures, she’ll be a formidable enemy.”
Muska sneered coldly.
“But she’s still too young. It’s said she’s only been a Transcendent for a few years; no matter how pure her bloodline, there are certain experiences she can’t skip.”
“She lacks sufficient accumulation.”
“And my power outclasses her by a small margin.”
“The only real challenge is the big guy by her side—hmm, that fellow nad Geralt.”
“Although I’m not sure about his bloodline heritage, it likely mirrors yours, focusing on the developnt of physical strength. His attack power might not be particularly high, but as long as he concentrates on defense, it’ll be hard to break through quickly.”
A peculiar glow flashed in Muska’s eyes, “I’ll find a way to separate the two of them—you handle the big guy, and I’ll deal with the female sorceress.”
Before Manu could reply, Muska added: “Listen to , dear Manu. This plan is crucial for my future, but I don’t want you to be hard during the process.”
“Your sole purpose is to stall the man. Of course, I want you to protect yourself—if you must, let him go. I don’t care as long as you remain unhard.”
Muska’s voice carried an odd cadence, not exactly pleasant to hear, yet Manu’s eyes grew misty as he nodded fervently.
“Don’t worry. For you, I’m willing to do anything.”
“I’ll stall him until you’ve finished with the woman and co back to help .”
“Trust .”
Muska swore with conviction.
“I’ll eliminate the woman as quickly as I can, then return to help you. Together, the two of us can surely kill Geralt without much effort.”
“Then only Viola will remain.”
“Heh heh.”
Muska chuckled coldly, “I’ll make that woman realize my strength!”
“And mine!”
Manu rumbled in agreent.
The two exchanged a glance, everything understood without words.
…
“Everything here feels so strange.”
Roger and Amanda weren’t moving quickly, partly because Amanda couldn’t figure out several suspicious details throughout the journey. Her alertness toward the surroundings grew increasingly heightened.
“It feels like everything is designed, as though an invisible hand is orchestrating us to follow a specific script.”
“Does this remind you of anything?” Roger asked.
“The so-called association’s control over the group is pitifully weak.” Amanda sighed. Everyone had their own thoughts, and her expectations for this mission felt naive.
Roger, however, was unsurprised.
To be honest, he’d killed more Fourth Tier Transcendents than Amanda had even t. Though they wore the title of Transcendent, they couldn’t entirely escape the darker traits of biological instinct.
Without powerful consolidation, it was hard to unify them. Independent action was already the best possible outco.
At that mont, Roger abruptly stopped.
At so unknown point, a layer of grayish mist began to shroud the forest.
The two held their breath simultaneously, tension high, cresting a nearby slope.
They were greeted by the sight of a crystalline lake. The mist above it was especially dense, with strange shapes writhing within.
It was odd—in theory, Roger’s senses could pierce through every detail hidden in the mist, but when combined, the image blurred.
“Be careful.”
Amanda instinctively stood behind Roger. She clearly understood when to test her limits and when to restrain herself to avoid adding trouble for him.
“Shall we go check it out?” Amanda whispered.
“No.” Roger hesitated briefly before firmly shaking his head.
Though strong, his powers weren’t omniscient. If he was alone, curiosity might lure him to investigate. But Amanda’s safety took priority now.
“We’ll go around.”
“The lake’s inhabitants might prefer we approach.”
Just as Roger intended to leave, a blurred shadow flitted past in the distance. Reflexively, he struck back.
His imnse power tore through the air, slamming into the shadow.
Thud!
A dull collision echoed as the struck shadow shattered on impact. In that mont, Roger recognized what he had hit.
“Odd—it’s the shattered man from earlier. What’s he doing here?”
Roger’s expression turned puzzled, but in the next instant, he sensed the mist thickening unnaturally around him. Reality seed to warp, pulling everything farther away. He spun around abruptly.
Amanda, who had been re steps away, now appeared more than ten ters away.
“Space distortion?”
Roger’s brows furrowed as he instinctively activated the Alder Sword Seal. Yet in the next heartbeat, a black figure blocked his path.
Standing there was a burly man, barely reaching Roger’s waist in height.
Roger sneered coldly, feeling repulsed by the positioning of the man’s face directly in front of him.
“Sneaking so close to , what are you planning?!”
