Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Harvest (Five Updates)
Peter was preparing to cast a spell, so Roger didn’t disturb him.
He returned to the site of their previous battle, picking up the scattered fragnts of the steel sword one by one.
Especially the tip of the sword, Roger felt it seed a bit different.
“The weapon is broken.”
Roger shrugged his hands at Henrik.
Henrik had a wooden expression on his face, with a tinge of distress in his eyes.
“It’s broken, so what? Why show it to ?”
“Shouldn’t the guild care about damaged equipnt during a mission?”
“Heh.”
However, Henrik’s tone changed, “I’ll ask around for you later, see if it can be reforged. But you, lad, seem to have grown a lot stronger recently.”
“This sword probably feels a bit awkward for you now. You’d best look into adding so tal or transcendent materials when reforging it, that might enhance its power to a new level.”
“Precious tals?”
Roger definitely couldn’t acquire such a thing, but he didn’t know if Mansu, who had been preparing for so many years, had sothing similar in her inventory.
Furthermore, Roger carefully touched himself, that green fla the witch emitted before dying had nearly burned everything away.
But it left behind a skull.
Roger had experienced how solid this skull was, and more importantly, when he got his hands on it, the information board updated simultaneously.
The Waning Moon Witch’s Skull: An extrely solid skull with a faint remnant soul of a witch about to enter the new moon phase.
It can be lted down with tal as alchemy materials to forge a weapon, possibly granting the weapon special abilities and enhancing it in so aspects.
It can also be turned in as spoils of war.
Evaluation: Precious.
This skull was Roger’s biggest gain this ti, and after he told Henrik about it, the latter didn’t pay much attention, as the witch was killed solely by Roger, so he rightfully had a say in the disposal of this little spoil of war.
If that was the case, then he decided to keep it for himself to enhance his strength.
With newfound motivation, Roger started searching around the entire room and soon found a chanism. He carefully triggered it, and a secret door leading underground appeared.
Henrik was montarily interested, Roger even felt like he could almost see coins dropping from his eyes.
“We’ve struck it rich!”
“Perhaps this is where Mansu secretly stashed her precious materials,” he said, patting Roger on the shoulder with a laugh.
“You learn fast, kid.”
“Do you know what the most important ability of a Demon Hunter is?”
Without waiting for Roger’s response, he continued, “To have eyes that spot treasures!”
“Haha!”
After that, he went down carrying his rifle.
Suddenly, Peter’s voice ca from the side, “The guild doesn’t have this creed.”
Peter had an expressionless face.
“I’ve seen many Demonic Hunters, but none as shaless as him.”
Roger nodded in agreent with this.
The two looked at each other and smiled, seeming to have a much deeper understanding of each other.
“Here, take this.”
Peter said as he tossed a palm-sized statue to Roger. On closer inspection, it appeared to be a snake, although with a sowhat rough and primitive appearance.
“The soul of that thing is sealed inside here. If you want to use it, break this statue.”
“Just be a little careful, I’ve put so protection on it, but it’s not as sturdy as it looks.”
Roger joyfully accepted the statue.
“Thank you, Peter, I owe you twice now.”
Peter just smiled, “No, you owe two concerts.”
“Hahaha!”
Suddenly, Henrik’s manic laughter ca from below.
“We’re rich, we’re really rich!”
Roger and another walked down the passageway; it was evident that it was frequently visited, naturally void of any secretive chanisms.
The space below wasn’t large, at most only 30 square ters, with shelves lined up against the walls, cluttered with various bottles and jars.
Of course, there were also many casting materials and all sorts of items used for holding mysterious ceremonies.
“Take this!”
Henrik tossed two pieces of tal to Roger.
“Sea Rock Iron and Wood Steel, with these two items you should be able to reforge a Steel Sword, and the best thing about tal blended with Wood Steel is.”
“It can’t be detected by modern security electronic devices; this thing isn’t from Earth, no idea how that woman got such a big chunk.”
“Your luck is really sothing else.”
Henrik was so excited he could hardly contain himself, then he threw another item to Peter.
“This thing couldn’t be more perfect for you.”
“Soul Gathering Chain!”
Peter’s expression changed slightly; although he didn’t say much, it was clear that the item gave him a significant boost.
“It’s lucky things happened so suddenly, and that woman was busy with the Transformation Ceremony. If we’d given her ti to make arrangents, we three would’ve been done for today.”
“A prepared witch is extrely frightening.”
Henrik caught Roger’s attention.
“You have to rember this.”
Roger nodded, understanding that Henrik was afraid he might beco reckless from having killed Mansu, which could lead to carelessness and a fatal mistake next ti.
“The most important thing isn’t these!”
Henrik kicked open a chest at his feet; the lid flipped open, revealing a whole chest of Gold Coins.
“Gold Coins!”
“Although the purity is unknown, even if it’s only one-third, it’s still a huge fortune!”
Henrik’s smile stretched from ear to ear, but this ti, Roger was even happier.
“Conservatively speaking, there’s the money for buying a house.”
He had been inquiring about houses in Bordeaux City recently, but even the cheapest ones were out of reach with the money he had earned from his past few missions.
“Leave this matter to ,”
“We three will split the money from the sale!”
“This ti I’m going to stay in the most luxurious place in Bordeaux for a week!”
“The kind where you don’t leave the bed for 7 days!”
“You two split the Gold Coins.” Peter suddenly spoke up.
He raised the bracelet, “I have this, and it’s enough for .”
Henrik’s expression changed, “That doesn’t seem quite right.”
Then he gave Roger a look, as if hinting at sothing.
“Heh heh.”
Roger knew very well that Peter ca from an incredibly wealthy family; this amount of money ant nothing to him.
But it was a different story for himself; there were so many houses waiting to be bought, and he was really very poor.
By the ti the three returned above, Amanda had already changed out of her original clothes.
Henrik picked up the black witch robe, “This thing is the most precious item here.”
He looked at Roger.
“You killed her, and by rights, this should belong to you, but this robe is a token; taking it might actually attract so trouble.”
Roger understood this reasoning too.
Getting involved with the Voodoo Queen, perhaps returning the black witch robe at this ti could win so support from the Voodoo Queen.
Although it might not affect the grand sche, it could at least alleviate the situation in Bordeaux City a bit.
“Let’s go, let’s get out of here.”
