The car I was in now entered the main gate of Dhurudatta family ho, a ho I had not been to for so long. I had been out of this house ever since I ca back from juvenile prison, at which point that ti I no longer sll the pheromones. Dad was furious with and I had a hard ti fitting back into the house because I couldn’t control or even hide my pheromone scent.

Father gave the option to choose where to live, including the land I would live on and the house I would build, I chose the mountains to live in. Where there was no one else but . Father helped to choose the maids in the house, my problem in slling pheromones and controlling them limited my work. All the field work stuff was taken over by George and years later Joshua took over the job. All those years I hid myself away.

I only co here occasionally when there is a big family business, the rest of the ti I never visit this house other than getting a call like today.

George opened the passenger door and let out of the car, I could sll new scents that I hadn’t breathed in so long. I covered my nose using the handkerchief Shiloh had prepared.

Oh, I can sll his pheromones.

"Are you still unable to adapt to the sll of other Alphas’ scents?" Joshua said from behind , he was walking while munching on a chocolate bar. Again. Today he’s also wearing a neat suit with a vest, shiny loafers and well-styled hair.

Yes, after all it’s a family dinner that happens twice a year.

"Have you decided to die of diabetes?" I asked, slightly sarcastic. He ignored , still busy chewing. He looked at with an annoyed look when a child’s screech called out to us.

"Uncle!"

We turned our heads and found Leona getting out of Cross’ arms as she ran over, Joshua deftly embracing the girl and holding her.

"Oh! You’re heavy." He said with a chuckle.

I sighed, "You can’t say that to a girl, Josh." I leaned closer and kissed Leona’s chubby cheeks.

Leona chuckled in Joshua’s arms, "Uncle! I missed you!" She squealed cheerfully while cupping Joshua’s face. The two of them chatted like close friends, I’m sure it’s because Joshua sotis looks like a five-year-old boy when he’s with Leona.

"How are you, Gruvv?" Cross asked as he walked closer to , his hand holding Sarah’s hand, his Oga partner.

I bowed slightly, greeting Sarah who 一still一 stiffly returned my greeting. "Not so good nor so bad, I’m still adapting." I replied briefly.

Cross doesn’t ask further questions as Leona is now babbling about her kindergarten to us, she tells us about how her friends made paper airplanes yesterday and flew them together in a field right behind their school. An activity that sounds like so much fun.

Leona will be the an-only child from Cross and Sarah, I heard that they tried to have another child but Sarah is out of the picture. Therefore, Leona will be their only child and she will continue either the Dhurudatta or Campbell family’s company. Well, she already has a big responsibility even though she just a kid.

We’re going the dining room to find Father there with his arms wide open, Leona had gotten out of Joshua’s arms and was now hugging Father tightly. That child could always make the atmosphere much more festive and cheerful.

"Grandpa!" She screeched again when dad ca down the stairs.

I already had a headache looking at his old face.

Dad sat down after showering Leona with kisses and complints, before starting dinner once again we heard Leona babble about the paper airplanes she flew in the field behind the school with her friends. A repetitive story that would never end before she bored herself.

Father’s and Dad’s smiles are so wide every ti they see Leona.

Such a small child whose presence has been awaited for so long always makes the atmosphere of the house much better and brighter, Leona is like a savior in this house. Her beautiful and cute face is so adorable, it always makes us miss her. Will Shiloh and I have a child like that?

I paused for a mont, a feeling of embarrassnt coursing through my body. Why was I thinking of the child in this situation? I scratched my neck.

I should have known, Shiloh’s top priority isn’t that right now. A few days ago he finally told the truth about the child he gave birth to, I was naturally surprised but tried to hide it from him. After his confession, I started reading all the files about his background.

There was a growing anger every ti I read about what was going on in his life, Gil completely ruining his own child’s life. Shiloh was treated like rchandise, not treated like a human being.

"Can we go to the reading room?" Dad’s voice broke my reverie, I lifted my face and those eyes looked right at .

Leona was taken by her nanny to another place while the rest of us went to the den where we usually talk to each other about important matters. I could see the tension in all of their eyes, no need to guess, dad would definitely talk about Shiloh.

Father sat in his place as the maids started bringing in drinks and snacks for us. It was quiet in the room and I didn’t like it. An uncomfortable feeling of pressure kept gnawing at my chest.

"How are you, Gruvv?" Dad didn’t mince words, he asked straight from the first sip of wine in the glass.

"Much better, still trying to adapt." I replied.

Father put his glass on the table and started looking at . I should have gotten used to this, I should have known this day would co when Dad found out about my relationship with Shiloh. What happened to us took so long, I was in the hospital with Shiloh and experienced RUT and HEAT together for days. The news must have gotten to Dad’s ears.

But I’m still not ready to go against my dad. He definitely wouldn’t like it if I was with Shiloh.

No, I have to hold on to my relationship with Shiloh. No matter what.

"Then, what about Shiloh’s situation?"

I was silent for a while hearing dad say that, I looked up and found everyone staring at . I blinked my eyes repeatedly. Did he just ask about Shiloh’s condition?

"Co on, I’ve t him a few tis when you were busy with that endless RUT." He said with a sigh.

"Do you think dad would be against your relationship?" Father asked with a smile behind the cup of hot tea he was drinking.

I didn’t answer right away but my silence could be interpreted as an answer. Dad sighed loudly, I could see one of his eyebrows rise up, his sharp eyes again looking at .

"Of course I thought about it, after all that child is Gil’s. The one who destroyed our family." He stopped his speech and cleared his throat, turning to Father for a mont, the two exchanging glances. "But, because of Shiloh, you were able to sll the pheromones again. And as your father said, the possibility of you two being a destined mate cannot be denied."

I could feel the relief in my heart when he said that. The talk of whether the two of us were really a destined mates had beco a major topic and continued to be investigated by both Elina and Andrew. All the characteristics of a destined mates pointed to what we were experiencing.

"Only a few people are destined to be mates by pheromones, and now you’ve found them. I can only support your relationship."

I nodded stiffly. This was my first serious relationship, and the fact that my entire family was supportive made so awkward.

"For the next family eting, you can bring Shiloh. After all, he is part of this family." Said Father.

I was speechless, unable to resist the urge to rush ho and hug Shiloh, to tell him that I love him and want to make him all mine. But the conversation wasn’t over yet. Father started talking about what happened with Madam Rose. Louis Baxter is investigating Madam Rose’s human trafficking case, and all the ogas and infants also toddlers locked up there are now under investigation. So of them claid to have been sold by so high-ranking officials in the country.

This ti, Louis Baxter asked our family for help to et with Shem Powers and investigate his corruption case. The building where the Ogas are being held is suspected to be a building bought with Shem Powers’ ’missing’ corruption money.

"If you want your Oga to be safe, you must find Gil as soon as possible. We can’t just stand by and watch what moves that man will make. The kidnapping, I don’t think it’s gonna be the last."

And, I know. I’m absolutely sure that, in every chance, Gil will do everything he can to hurt Shiloh again.
