Searching for Gil is of course still ongoing. Every organization was contacted, although so did not respond. Yeah, it’s not strange, either because they are involved or they just don’t want to be involved. After the office that we suspected to be a money laundering office called PACKAGE was vacated after the death of Madam Rose and the exposure of her human trafficking case and drug factory. Louis Baxter sent so files about his investigation via email a few days after I returned from the eting at Dhurudatta’s house.
The file contained all of Madam Rose’s inco from all of her illegal businesses. The taxes she submitted and her inco were so different, there were several transactions where Madam Rose’s main office sent ’paynts’ to one account under a different na.
The workers who handled the nightclub’s finances were questioned but they themselves did not know, the accountant who handled the nightclub also admitted that he had not worked with Madam Rose since the last two years while his na was still listed as a permanent employee. That ans for the past two years the accountant has been getting a salary for free without working.
Louis Baxter suspected the accounts that appeared in so of the transactions might be those of PACKAGE accounts. He already thinking that the case was big but didn’t expect it to be so big that the people involved didn’t even know that they might be involved in a money laundering case.
This makes it a little difficult to sort out the people who may or may not be directly involved.
"Everything Louis sent is related to Madam Rose, but the police can’t investigate this because of the old lady’s death." I said, tossing the printed and organized files onto the desk. I raised my head to stare at the white roof of the office, a puff of smoke rising. If only the old lady was still alive, maybe we could pressure her to talk about where Gil was.
But, considering that I had to see that old face again and also sll the pheromones that slled like garbage from her body, I think killing her was the best idea.
George was smoking his cigarette in front of , he sat with his legs wide open and looked at .
"You killed her." He said as he exhaled the cigarette smoke into the air.
"That old woman doesn’t deserve to live, she should die." I said.
"But, you’re making it harder for the police to find where Gil is."
I straightened up, looking at George who was still smoking in front of .
"Can’t our n work faster? Just looking for one person and taking a year? Are you fucking kidding ? Can’t you do sothing? They work so fucking slow!" I said, trying to provoke George who’s the leader of the all subordinates.
George raised one eyebrow, I could see the corner of his lips lift as well.
"Wow, Mr. Handkerchief, don’t talk nonsense." He said in a teasing tone, looking at with eyes that were widened because I was covering half of my face with the handkerchief given by Shiloh. "Gil couldn’t be found because of the interference of other organizations, if he was just an ordinary civilian, since a month of searching he would be dead in my hands."
I snorted in annoyance because what he said was true, Gil was indeed hidden by soone we didn’t even know who it was, "I’m wearing this because your pheromones sll so strong!" I complained, leaning my back against the sofa and raising my head to stare at the ceiling, the handkerchief still covering half of my face.
I didn’t want to respond to his ramblings about Gil. We’re still trying to figure out who helped him escape, the PACKAGE office is big enough to clean up overnight.
"Liar, you used that handkerchief because that kid’s sll was there, right?"
I didn’t answer that stupid question. Of course I took this with everywhere because there was a lingering sll of Shiloh’s pheromones, after so long I didn’t sll the pheromones, I just wanted to inhale the sll of his pheromones.
The sll of pheromones is so sweet and soothing. I didn’t know he gave off this kind of scent, does everyone sll the sa from him too? Ah damn, I don’t want others to sll this sweet scent. Only I can sll it.
"Hey Gruvv, isn’t it ti you moved to the headquarters?" George asked again, I listened to his question and thought this ti. This question has also been asked by Dad when I gonna leave the other day, Dad suggested that I finish all the underground work and transfer it to Joshua as soon as possible.
My work was taken over by Joshua while I was in the hospital and according to Dad, Joshua could already be given the responsibility of doing all the work. After all, fifty percent of my work had already been taken over by him.
"I haven’t asked Shiloh if he wants to marry or not."
George didn’t respond imdiately, he took another drag on his cigarette, throwing it into the air. Silence surrounded us for a mont. I know what he’s thinking, and he knows what I’m thinking.
"But you know he’ll accept your proposal, right?"
I sighed, "The chances are so slim, you know he has a child who was taken by the Elnathan family right? From our conversation, he’s favoring taking the child back now."
I explained again to George that I wouldn’t force Shiloh to marry , I just wanted to maintain my current relationship with Shiloh. We still have a lot to work on, from and Shiloh not being okay to our HEAT and RUT not being able to control when it cos.
We both have traumas, and it’s best if we resolve those traumas first now. I don’t want to rush things, I want to take care of him.
"Then you should move to the headquarters imdiately so you can focus on Shiloh. Lingering underground will only make matters worse."
I scratched my head, "I need to catch Gil and resolve all these issues first before going to the headquarters."
I know my job here requires a lot of ti and killing people is not a good choice if I’m going to bring in Shiloh as my life partner. Then again, there would be many people who would try to harm Shiloh if I stayed underground and took over this dirty work. I had to go to a much better place, out in the open, so that it would be difficult for people to take the bad route and hurt Shiloh.
George finished one cigarette quickly, then he threw another envelope on the table. The envelope that had been sitting next to his seat.
"Open it." He said slowly.
I opened the envelope and flipped through the neatly collapsed papers one by one. I read them carefully. It was the Elnathan family investigation file. As Shiloh had explained to and Father, the Elnathan family had taken the official route of having a surrogate mother conceive and bear a child.
"It is written in the agreent that the surrogate mother will not et and even demand back the child that has been given to the Elnathan family." George said, taking one of the files and handing it to .
I took the file he handed over, and opened it, checking what was inside. "But the signature given by Gil-" I stopped my words, I gripped the paper so tightly that it tore in my hands. I could feel my chest starting to rumble with anger.
"That’s the evidence from the detective I hired, the signature is genuine. The emphasis and lines show that Shiloh signed the file by himself. But that doesn’t an he knows whether he signed the surrogacy agreent or not."
George’s explanation pissed off even more, I really wanted to kill Gil now.
"It will make things difficult if we sue the Elnathan family."
"Can’t we just charge fraud?"
George looked at , "There’s no evidence whatsoever."
I wanted so badly to help and solve everything that happened to Shiloh, I wanted to give him the safest and most comfortable place, I wanted to give him what I could. But, seeing all the chaos that’s happened to his life over the past few years makes it hard to know where to start.
What happened to him was so neatly covered up by Gil, that it even seed like he had a plan that a long ago. The Elnathan family’s surrogate mother is sothing I really never thought of before. Not even just his father who only wanted to use Shiloh, the person he once loved also treated himr the sa.
The man just wanted to get a child with good genes so he didn’t care how Shiloh felt.
"Then, what do you think so I can take over the child?"
I asked George who was now looking at . Just as George opened his mouth, my office door opened, Shin stood with a calm and unpredictable face.
"You should go to the police station." He said quietly.
I frowned, "What do you an?"
"Louis Baxter called , he said Shem Powers died in the cell this afternoon."
