Lilac
My eyes bulged out as those words floated around . I thought I hadn’t heard right at first, and so I kept blinking at him.
"Huh?" I finally whispered while my heart pounded away.
My cheeks grew hot when he kept staring at without saying anything. His golden eyes looked more like silver right now, but still intense. I swallowed emptily as mories of last night briefly rushed to the front of my mind.
Vivid images of him between my legs...
"You’ll stay here till you get better." The prince’s voice pulled out of my thoughts and I stiffened again, panic starting to shrug through this ti.
"But... I think I’ll be punished because that way, I’ll miss my duties." I whispered, which was the truth. I was still panicking over the fact that I didn’t return back to the slave quarters last night when all slaves were supposed to report back after each duty. But I clearly hadn’t done that yesterday because I had been passed out here in the prince’s room, and I was certain I was gonna be punished for that.
The prince didn’t react, he only looked over in a way that made a shiver roll down my spine. I swallowed emptily as I shifted around awkwardly in the bed I was sitting in.
In the next mont, he was letting out a hum before speaking. "Are you refusing an order of mine?"
My eyes widened and I frantically shook my head as my heartbeat accelerated even more. What was I thinking by trying to refuse the Prince?
Was I looking for a quick ans to get killed.
"No, your highness." I whispered and he humd again.
"Good, because that was an order. You’ll remain here with till I say otherwise. Understood?"
I swallowed emptily and nodded again, my stomach clenching tightly at the prospect of spending days in here with the prince. Yesterday had been different because I had passed out. This was completely different.
"Yes, your highness." I agreed ekly.
He didn’t respond till after a few monts.
"You don’t have to worry about being punished by your supervisors, no one would dare hurt you. And you were poisoned, so it’s an understandable excuse." His voice was low as he spoke and I felt goosebumps rise over my arms as I listened to him.
"Poisoned?" I echoed. I had figured this out right before I passed out, but it was still daunting to hear it from soone else.
The prince humd then waved a hand at my panicked expression. "The poison won’t hurt you because it wasn’t dangerous. You’re okay. It was ant for but you took the hit, hence why you’ll remain here till you’re fine. Now, go take that shower I ntioned because you still reek of slick."
My cheeks instantly colored as I quickly averted my gaze.
Slick.
I still didn’t know how that ca about and how I managed to produce it. It made no sense to since I’m human. I know of slick’s existence, and how it works, and know a human wasn’t supposed to be able to produce it.
Was it because of that poison?
I was too embarrassed and still too scared of the prince to ask him that question. I might still be alive and unhurt, but it doesn’t an I suddenly wasn’t afraid of the prince anymore.
He had asked to go shower.
Right.
I better get on with it then.
I shuffled to the end of the bed and got to my feet, but in the very next mont, I was losing my footing and face was on the way to getting planted on the bright tiles on ground. I squealed and tried steadying myself, but before I could hit the ground, a hand was grabbing my hand and keeping suspended.
My heart was racing so hard that I felt dizzy and weak.
My legs felt like jelly, and I hadn’t even realized that I had zero strength in them till I began to fall after getting to my feet. My eyes trailed up the muscular arm which had saved from falling, up to the face of the prince and my heart lurched dangerously in my throat as our eyes locked.
He had just gotten here in a flash. He was still sitting at the other side of the bed a fleeting mont ago. How was this possible? I was quickly reminded of our first encounter in his human form, how he got to my side in a flash. Was this an ability of his because of his beast?
As he righted with a tug, my head spinned and I fell right into his chest.
Kill now.
"I’m so sorry." I cried out as I hurriedly pulled away from his chest which felt extrely hot through the robe he had loosely tied around his middle. He was yet to let go of my arm, and I realized that it was what was keeping from collapsing on the ground.
I didn’t even realize I was this weak.
"Can you stand?" He asked, eyes looking over and flushed even more as I nodded. He carefully let go of , but after I wobbled, he went back to gripping my arm.
"You’re still weak, this ans the poison is still inside you. I’ll send for the doctor again." He continued and I didn’t even realize a doctor checked out till this very mont. Before I could ask my question, he was whisking into his arms.
My eyes almost flew out of their sockets as I gaped up at him.
"You can’t walk, can you?"
I opened my mouth and closed it because nothing ca out. He took that as an answer and began to walk towards the bathroom with cradled in his arms.
I felt like I was about to go up in flas, or about to faint, because this was the last thing I expected to experience this morning, especially from the Prince. He was literally carrying in his arms, like a... bride.
When he stepped into the bathroom and settled on the ground, I leaned against a wall while blinking up at him. My throat has gone dry and I suddenly didn’t know what to say. It was hard to hold his gaze so I glanced away, willing myself to not tremble as I spoke.
"Thank you." I mumbled quietly, feeling heat between the two of us due to the small gap between our bodies. He let out a hum before stepping back and letting his eyes take in my entire appearance.
"Can you undress yourself?"
My cheeks burned fiercely at the question and I nodded while biting on my tongue.
He waited a mont longer before turning around and leaving, making feel warm all over, unsure, lost and extrely confused because I had no idea of what to make of this entire situation.
