Cultivating through increasing my stats in America Chapter 229 - 168: My Words are the Evidence
Li Ang, Catina, the security officer, and the airport police, a total of four people, arrived at the detention room amidst the onlookers of nurous passengers.
Just as they stepped through the door, at the exact spot of a surveillance blind spot, the security officer walking beside Li Ang suddenly lunged to one side, crashing against the door fra. Accompanied by his scream, another airport police officer, unaware of what had happened, rushed over.
"He just attacked ."
The security officer, clutching his head which was faintly bleeding, accused Li Ang of attacking him and causing him to hit the door fra to the police officer nearby.
"He’s lying, he just slamd into the door fra himself."
Catina was sowhat bewildered. She had begun to realize that this was a flagrant fra-up.
She tried to explain but quickly understood that such an explanation was unlikely to be of any use.
"I can testify, he indeed just struck this security officer with force."
The other police officer nearby, with an expressionless face, told a blatant lie.
Travelers brought to the detention room usually had so issue, so when this police officer heard that Li Ang had even dared to attack a security officer, he imdiately handcuffed him.
As for Catina’s defense, sorry, who would believe the explanation of a suspect’s accomplice?
Li Ang made no attempt to resist, letting them put the handcuffs on him.
Now, on their turf, he knew that reasoning with them was utterly useless. Taking physical action would only play into their hands, so at this mont, all he could do was wait for them to finish their act and see how the situation would unfold.
...
anwhile, the airport general manager, the deputy general manager, the duty manager for the day, and the head of security, were all trying to quicken their pace, following a woman in uniform with a serious face, who appeared to be in her thirties.
"You don’t need to rush; whatever the situation is, it can certainly be resolved here."
General Manager Ebson spoke softly to the woman in uniform, with a subservient deanor.
Less than a month ago, he had just hosted this "VIP" and the experience had left him with a profound psychological shadow.
God knows who has crossed her this ti; all he could do now was pray in his heart that the matter wouldn’t fall on his head.
The other airport leaders behind him didn’t even dare to breathe too loudly.
...
An attack and injury of this nature ant, of course, there was no need to stay in the detention room any longer. The two police officers and the security officer were planning to take Li Ang directly to the police station.
At this ti, Li Ang continued to be exceedingly cooperative. To the police station it was, then. When they would actually get there, it wasn’t necessarily going to be their turf.
Catina, who had been sowhat panicked, now cald down a little. If they went to the police station, perhaps her brother could provide so help, and she knew quite a few aunts and uncles—surely that was better than being here.
As they walked, the group escorting Li Ang suddenly stopped and saluted soone ahead, nudging Li Ang with their elbows to signal him to keep quiet.
Li Ang followed their gaze, and the first thing that caught his eye was the woman leading the way.
She seed to be about thirty years old, with blond hair and blue eyes, very sharp facial features, coupled with her impeccable S-shaped figure and her aloof aura, she could easily be mistaken for a supermodel.
But she was dressed in uniform with three yellow letters prominently displayed: FBI.
The people behind her were all dressed in suits that looked quite high-end at a glance, one of them with a badge on his chest that read ’Duty Manager.’
The security officer and his companions intended to stand aside in the corridor and wait for the group to pass.
Unexpectedly, the woman leading the group stopped when she reached them.
The security officer’s heart pounded wildly. He had no idea what had happened to warrant the presence of not only the general manager of the airport and their departntal leader but even agents from the FBI.
"Li Ang?"
The woman in front smiled slightly for the first ti, looking at Li Ang uncertainly.
Li Ang nodded and asked with so confusion:
"Who are you?"
This must be the heavyweight Tyler had ntioned. Indeed, Arica’s CIA is known to instill fear in people, but in reality, the FBI’s power is even greater.
While the CIA is responsible for gathering foreign intelligence and combating terrorism, the responsibilities of the FBI are much broader.
Collecting foreign intelligence dostically, conducting offensive counterintelligence operations within the country, maintaining dostic political security, investigating most criminal cases violating federal laws, and combating dostic terrorism all fall under their jurisdiction.
And with greater responsibility cos greater power; it’s no wonder that the airport leaders were so excessively cautious.
After all, if they didn’t play by the rules, being labeled a spy could an ruin or, at the very least, significant harm.
Not to ntion, the badge on this woman’s chest didn’t read ’Agent’ but rather ’Head of the Action Team.’
"This isn’t the place to talk, let’s go to your office instead."
The woman in uniform glanced at the general manager beside her and said.
The general manager of the airport, without any hesitation, nodded and agreed imdiately.
