The living room was very quiet, with no main lights turned on, only a lamp on the wall casting a dim glow. Shi Che was sitting on the sofa, his face slightly downturned, the light illuminating one side of his face while the other was shrouded in darkness.
For so reason, this quietness made her heart palpitate unconsciously, so much so that her footsteps subconsciously halted, and she dared not move forward.
Shi Che seed to sense her gaze and suddenly looked up at her.
To this day, she could still clearly rember the look in his eyes at that ti, fierce, harsh, like a cruel beast, emanating a sinister light as if ready to pounce and bite through your throat in the next second.
At that mont, she broke out into a cold sweat all over her body, even though she had just taken a bath, but there was still a thin layer of sweat on her back. The breeze blew, causing a chill to invade, making her shiver uncontrollably.
However, the look in Shi Che’s eyes was just for a brief instance, disappearing in a flash and soon returning to his usual calm and indifference. That night, they were at peace with each other, and everything appeared as if it were just her imagination, Shi Che never had such a look in his eyes.
Regrettably, her relief was premature. The next day when she woke up, Shi Che suddenly turned hostile. She couldn’t rember exactly what had happened, only that Shi Che was very angry, furious. He smashed everything in the house and then stord off, leaving her alone in this foreign country.
Perhaps people have an instinct to seek good fortune and avoid disaster, intentionally forgetting bad and unbearable things. Just like her, after she reconciled with Shi Che, she did not want to think about many, many past events, deeply burying them at the bottom of her heart, pretending to have truly forgotten them.
But now, suddenly returning here, many deeply hidden mories surfaced uncontrollably, and Ling Chuxia stood there, her body trembling involuntarily.
Shi Che put the luggage into the bedroom and, noticing that Ling Chuxia hadn’t followed, he stepped out of the bedroom and imdiately saw Ling Chuxia standing dazedly in the living room.
Her beautiful face now wore a blank expression, her dark eyes fixed steadily on the area around the sofa. Her hands, hanging at her sides, clenched unconsciously, and her body trembled.
Shi Che stared intently at her for a good while, his gaze deepening with a multitude of emotions crossing the depths of his eyes, feeling a gradual ache in his heart.
But quickly, he adjusted his emotions, concealed the sentints in his dark pupils, and hooked the corner of his lips slightly, taking slow steps forward, "Why are you standing here in a daze?"
His deep, pleasant voice resonated by her ear, and Ling Chuxia reflexively looked towards Shi Che, the sa handso face, but this one bore no ferocity, no darkness, no bloodthirsty, fierce eyes, but was gentle, endearing, filled with tenderness.
Ling Chuxia’s trembling body gradually steadied, along with the fear in the bottom of her heart fading away. She stared fixedly at Shi Che, examining him seriously as if to affirm that what she was seeing was real, not an illusion.
Even she extended her hands and cupped Shi Che’s face, drawing closer, continuing to look at him.
Her action was sowhat abrupt, Shi Che slightly stunned but then laughed softly, his voice growing even more gentle, "Chuxia, what is it? Hm?"
