As the chaos at the dungeon finally subsided, it didn’t take long for dia reporters to swarm the scene, eager to capture the aftermath of the potentially disastrous movent.

"Good evening," Nina Votskova began, her voice booming over the clamour of the crowd gathered around her. "We’re here live at the site of the now-closed dungeon, which once hosted the biggest temple complex on the planet, where earlier today, a tense situation unfolded."

Caras panned to show the remnants of the chaos, with DRA officers and ergency responders tending to the injured and ensuring the safety of those present.

"Thanks to the swift actions of the DRA and local authorities, order has been restored," the reporter continued, gesturing towards the bustling scene behind her.

"First responders are on-site, providing dical assistance to those in need, while the situation is controlled by the tily intervention of the DRA."

She continued, "We still don’t know what caused the open dungeon to collapse without any prior information. But we do know there have been a few casualties.

The authorities are still trying to find everyone, but it looks like most of the missing people worked for the Glorious Light guild and couldn’t make it out in ti.

In the background, paradics could be seen attending to the wounded, administering first aid and transporting patients to waiting ambulances.

"At this point, we have been trying to get a statent from the guild leader and billionaire devotee, Ms Maria, but to no avail," the reporter relayed, her brow furrowing with concern. "She has been missing, but it is said she would soon be in Miami for an official press conference."

As the cara panned across the scene, viewers caught glimpses of the DRA arresting so people while Jas was on a call with his superiors. He was probably getting scread at despite the public calling him their hero.

"We’re also seeing a strong show of community support," the reporter added, her voice tinged with admiration. "Local volunteers have stepped up to assist with the cleanup efforts, ensuring that the area is returned to its forr state while the authorities deal with bigger issues."

"Assholes..." Jas sighed, disconnecting the call.

As he had predicted, the higher-ups on Maria’s payroll weren’t pleased with Jas and would do everything to make his life hell. They didn’t even sugarcoat it; they just straight-up told him what would happen to him.

As things stood, demotions were the least of his concerns. He’d be lucky if he didn’t have to lick everyone’s boots clean for the rest of his life.

’With all the support from dia, they can’t fire without backlash, but they can do a lot worse for my career without making much fuss...’

As much as Jas liked his job, he knew this day would co and was prepared to quit rather than live like a servant for corrupt officials.

He could have asked the executive director for help, but he knew that would put Rick in a tough spot, so he decided to quit instead.

But before he could make the call, he received a text from Adrian.

[et at my place. There’s sothing I need to show you about today’s incident. Co alone, there’s a lot of eyes on you.]

Jas texted him back, confirming that he was headed that way, only to be stopped by the dia. Everyone wanted to know more about the incident, and since Jas was at the centre of it all, they figured he’d have those answers.

Unfortunately, Jas wasn’t in the mood to entertain them and got out of there with his super speed. Since he would no longer be a DRA employee within the next hour, he didn’t care about what anyone had to say about his actions.

A few minutes later...

"You look like shit," Adrian comnted, jumping down from the stairs.

"I have a certain soone to thank for that," Jas shook his head before making himself comfortable. "You said you wanted to show sothing?"

"Right," Adrian replied, tossing his phone to Jas. "Take a look."

"...my god! What is this?" Jas gasped when he saw the ghost soldiers.

"That’s what was happening inside that dungeon that got closed today. Maria had been using the temple as a front to lure in and kidnap people to turn them into her personal army."

Jas was speechless. The more he saw, the more he realised how fucked up the situation was. However, there was a problem. The video was damning, but it won’t be enough to form a conclusive proof to take action against Maria.

If confronted, she could wiggle her way out by saying she had no knowledge of such experints. She could even bla one of her dead employees.

It could damage her guild’s reputation, but Maria had a lot of influence over the dia, so it wouldn’t be too bad for her in the long run.

"She might’ve wrecked all the other places by now if she even had more to start with..." Jas mumbled. "Even if the DRA launched a global search, I doubt they will find anything-"

"Exactly," Adrian smiled, pushing a pen drive towards Jas. "But how will she deny her conversations with the man in charge of the facility?"

"How-"

"Does it matter?" Adrian cut him off. "Just focus on the evidence. Don’t worry about where it ca from.

If I had to guess, Henry probably knew Maria would betray him eventually and had a plan ready to bring her down with him. Even though he’s gone, it seems like his contingency plan could still help us."

"So you’re saying you had nothing to do with the dungeon incident?"

"Like I said, don’t worry about so petty details. Focus on the bigger picture instead," Adrian shrugged, before getting up. "Also, with this, none of your superiors would be in any shape to so much as think about you, let alone make your life miserable."

"How did you know-"

"Intuition, my friend, intuition. Now, if you don’t mind, I have to deal with so things," Adrian said. "See you around, special agent."
