The tribesn were silent, expecting a clash between the Chieftain and Tal’shira. But when Vincent noticed where Adrian was pointing, he saw red and began thrashing around while yelling at the top of his lungs.

"You son of a bitch! How dare you even think I’ll allow such a thing! They’re not objects to be handed out like trinkets-"

*Swoosh!*

But before their argunt could escalate further, a sudden whistling sound pierced the air. Vincent’s eyes widened in shock as a spear whizzed past his ear, but the sheer wind force around the weapon ended up slicing a portion of his ear and tore through several trees in its path before stopping.

Adrian looked at Vincent, trying hard not to laugh. Two things were significantly important to an elf. First was their hair, and second was their ears. Both had so relation to their pride as a ’higher being’, and Adrian supposed missing half an ear would be quite a blow to Vincent.

Stunned, Vincent turned to Ahuli, his finger pressed to his lips in a warning gesture. The Chieftain’s expression was cold and nacing as he snarled at Vincent, making it clear that this was his first and last warning: do not interfere in the tribe’s business.

If looks could kill, Ahuli would have died ten tis over. But that’s all Vincent could do in his situation. With that, Ahuli turned towards Adrian.

"Are you aware I had intended to turn that elf into my mate?" Ahuli asked in a calm voice.

"I didn’t, but I wouldn’t have changed my decision even if I did," Adrian confidently replied, stepping closer to Ahuli.

Adrian knew a fight wouldn’t go his way, but he couldn’t allow Alia to suffer through the fate that awaited her. As for Sophia, she didn’t know why he was saving her, but sothing in his heart couldn’t bear the thought of tribals ravaging her.

"Son... think about it-" Suli tried to intervene, but Ahuli raised his hand, stopping the Advisor midsentence.

"Fine then," Ahuli smiled after an intense staring matching. "You can have them. I’d rather lose a potential heir than a dependable warrior like yourself."

Adrian got wide-eyed. He couldn’t believe Ahuli had given up so quickly, and by the looks of those around, it seed they hadn’t expected such an outco either. But the most surprised of them was Skaha.

He knew his nephew’s stubborn nature. Once Ahuli set his sights on sothing, he never gave up. Yet he gave up the woman he had been waiting for without a fuss? Sothing felt off.

"You can take the woman, but you’ll have to give sothing in exchange," Ahuli smiled slyly.

"That wouldn’t be much of a reward, would it?" Adrian smiled back before shaking his head. "But I’m willing to do it. However, I’m afraid I don’t have much to offer-"

"You undervalue yourself. What I want from you is your skills," Ahuli said. "I want you to be my blade, my shadow... and my right hand."

Gasps erupted from those in attendance. They knew what Ahuli was suggesting and couldn’t help but envy Milka. So ti ago, he was a useless brat riding on his father’s hard work. But he changed and now was being recognised for his own accomplishnts.

Adrian smiled and bowed, "It would be an honour to serve you."

Ahuli grabbed Adrian and raised his hand before the crowd as everyone went berserk.

Even then, so people groaned in disappointnt as they wanted to taste the won once, but since they were Adrian’s slaves now, there wasn’t much they could have done.

Vincent couldn’t help but rage silently. Every ti he t Adrian, he took sothing from him. This ti, not only did he take Sophia back, but he also stole Alia from him.

At that mont, he wanted nothing more than to expose Adrian’s real identity, but he knew it would be impossible to prove his claims. Moreover, there was no saying what Adrian would do since he was now the Chieftain’s right-hand man.

’He might not hesitate before killing ...’ Vincent thought. ’I can’t let that happen. It’s better to suffer the humiliation of being a slave than losing my life. But I swear I’ll make you pay!’

Unlike Vincent, Sophia and Alia looked relieved. When they heard about what Adrian had done, they were shocked. But now they realised Adrian had been faithful to his promise and wouldn’t abandon them.

Adrian glanced at Vincent and knew what was going on inside his head. The bastard hated him so much, and it was enough reason for Vincent to hire soone to kill him.

’I wasn’t certain at first, but the more I ponder it, the more it makes sense. Vincent might have been the one who tead up with the Church and the Ravens... but why would they turn against him if they were tight?’

He continued, ’There’s sothing fishy going on here. I’ll have to dig deeper before uncovering their relationship’s real story.’

Ahuli and Adrian kept smiling as the crowd cheered them on. Ahuli smiled because he thought the tribe had gained a formidable soldier, while Adrian smiled because he knew his plan had worked, and now it was ti to end the Tulkas and free the heroes.

***

A couple of hours later...

Adrian was sitting in his room following a quick ceremony where Alia and Sophia were made his ’slaves’. As such, they would be living with him and Suli, and in all his happiness, he gave his son a new house to call his own.

The house had everything a tribal would need, and Adrian was busy going about the house, making plans for the place as he forgot about the girls.

Alia and Sophia entered Adrian’s room, clad in body-tight tribal attire that accentuated every curve. At first, Adrian had his back turned towards them, unaware of their presence. But when he heard the footsteps and saw them, his jaw dropped to the ground.

His reaction sent a blush creeping up their cheeks, but they quickly regained their composure and exchanged a knowing glance.

"Wow," Adrian breathed, his voice barely above a whisper.

He knew it was wrong to look at his teammates like that, but he was a man in the end. Thankfully, he managed to control himself, tearing his gaze off of them.

"...they made us wear these, saying it was a special night," Sophia mumbled, her cheeks turning even redder.

"Y-Yeah! It’s not like we wanted to do this or anything," Alia chid in, turning away from them but watching Adrian’s reaction from the corner of her eyes.

"Ahem, I see..." Adrian cleared his throat before walking past them. "T-There’s plenty of rooms here, so you can sleep here; I’ll take the other room."

With that, he rushed out of the room, and the girls shared a smile.
