Adrian’s eyes flew open wide, wider than they’d ever been. Sula noticed his reaction and pinched his back. He understood it was all a ruse, a way for Sula to whisk him away from Alia.

"I didn’t know the tribe followed such customs," Alia smiled, letting go of Adrian’s hands. "But are you really engaged?"

Adrian cleared his throat as if agreeing with Sula. But Sula, in an attempt to make it look real, shoved herself between the two, sitting on Adrian’s lap.

"You want proof of our close relationship?" Sula scoffed, throwing her arms around his neck. "We won’t mind putting on a show for you if that’s what you want."

It was then Fenris decided it was enough and pushed Sula away, placing her head on Adrian’s lap instead. Sula was a bit taken aback by Fenris’s reaction, but so was Alia. However, Adrian was glad Fenris acted when she did.

Things were getting a bit heated down there, and Fenris’s intervention brought Adrian so relief.

"I see... I hope you’ll have a loving and fruitful marriage," Alia comnted before leaving.

Once she was gone, Adrian offered Sula a hand, which she graciously accepted and got back to her feet.

"You should learn to control her better! EEK-!" Sula complained the mont she was up but hid behind Adrian when Fenris growled at her.

’What the hell is going on...’ Adrian sighed, instructing Fenris to lie down.

Fenris obeyed, but her eyes remained glued to Sula.

"Phew~" Sula sighed in relief, letting go of Adrian. "You should be careful when dealing with the outsiders. You never know what’s going inside their ssed up heads."

Instead of agreeing with her, Adrian pointed towards the won now feeding Marcus with their hands and other... parts, while hovering over him.

"That’s different," Sula rolled her eyes, disgusted by the sight. "They are rely performing their duty as instructed by the great elder."

Sula didn’t know the significance of what she said, but she had just confird that Adrian’s theory was correct. Skaha was the one enslaving the heroes, giving Adrian the target he needed to eliminate.

"Co on, we should rest now," Sula mumbled while yawning. "It’s going to be a long day tomorrow."

Adrian nodded and left after taking another look at Marcus, ’Yup, they are fucked.’

A few monts later...

Alia strolled through the trees, the branches swaying gently in the breeze as she made her way to the allotted place when a voice broke the silence.

"So, did you learn anything about him?"

Alia stopped but remained unfazed by the sudden interruption. She had been expecting sothing like that would happen when she slipped out of the room earlier.

"Apparently, the guy couldn’t speak or rember anything about his past," she replied. "So... there’s no way of knowing if he knows about us."

"Quite convenient for him, don’t you think?" Sophia said as she leapt down from a nearby tree. "They had to have planned sothing way before out arrival."

"Of course they have," Alia shrugged as the two continued towards their rooms. "I don’t think they’ve managed to fool anyone but Marcus, which is no surprise; he’s a horny midget, after all."

Sophia let out a little laugh, sothing she hadn’t done often since she heard about Adrian’s death. Alia felt sad too, but nobody seed to notice because she always had a resting bitch face.

"We need to be alert. Anything can happen tomorrow onwards." Alia comnted, and Sophia nodded in agreent.

The next day, a few minutes before sunset...

"How far is the cave?" Marcus complained, struggling to keep his eyes open.

As Skaha had planned, the girls didn’t let Marcus sleep a wink last night and kept engaging him till the stars disappeared from the sky.

"...it hasn’t even been more than half a day since we left the settlent," Clara comnted. "How the fuck are you already tired? Oh, right, soone was busy staring at honkers instead of resting!"

"And that person ain’t sorry ’bout it," Marcus attempted a smile, but it ended up yawning.

Vincent paid no attention to them and continued on his way. He understood that if he didn’t ignore Marcus, he would eventually lose his temper and end up beating the shit out of the dwarf. Sothing he didn’t want to do in front of the strangers.

The heroes sat comfortably in a wagon pulled by two Tiaks and a giant direwolf. Taheton, the guy Skaha picked for the mission, was driving the wagon.

Sula was at the front riding her direwolf, leading the way to where they needed to go. While Adrian was positioned at the back, riding behind them all. They figured that since Fenris was the toughest of the bunch, it made sense for Adrian to be behind them for extra safety.

The journey had been dull so far. But for Adrian, it was anything but relaxing. He already knew how the Banurs had set traps around their settlent and believed the Tulkas would have done the sa.

But searching for traps had been burdenso, all because, unlike the Banurs, the Tulkas had not cleared the area surrounding their base, making it easier to conceal any traps they might have set.

’At least I’d rember this ’safe’ path,’ Adrian sighed. ’But first, I’ll need to inform A’Mila about this path sohow.’

While Adrian thought of ways to inform the Banurs about his findings, he noticed movent from the corner of his eyes.

However, before he could react or alert anyone, a massive boar burst through the bushes, toppling the wagon. The heroes and Taheton were knocked off the vehicle, but thankfully, they were safe, all but Marcus, who fell flat on his head.

’What the hell...’

It was the largest boar Adrian had ever seen. The boar was unaware of what it had done, but it didn’t take long for it to notice the humans. With its target acquired, the boar rubbed its front hoof on the ground while snorting softly.

It was clear the beast was planning to charge at them. Usually, Marcus would already be on the beast, beating it to death with his shield, but given his condition, soone else had to step in.

The boar charged at the disoriented heroes, but Fenris tackled the beast to the ground before it could get too close to them. Alia, the first to get to her feet, shot a couple of arrows at the boar while it was pinned to the ground, killing it instantly.

anwhile, Adrian rushed to check on his forr teammates. They were safe, but unfortunately, their wagon was shattered. There was no chance it was fixable.

"What was that?" Clara complained, but all her aggression shifted to Marcus when she realised the dwarf was fast asleep. "This... midget!"

Clara aid a kick at Marcus, but she lost her balance and accidentally kneed him in the crotch instead. Marcus jerked awake with a gasp, but he couldn’t speak, all he managed was a wheeze before grabbing his crotch and rolling over as the soul left his body.

The n grimaced, shaking their heads in sympathy for their comrade, realising how much an armoured knee to the balls would have hurt.
