Chapter 124: Chapter 123:Your Main Character.... Has Arrived!

"So, any idea what I should expect before we arrive?" I couldn’t help asking as I sat down on Leo’s beak..

"What else? Arrogant young masters that believe the world should bow beneath their feet"

"So the usual posturing assess huh?" I mused..

"Posturing? Ohohoho, you better not believe they’re posturing, don’t worry, you’ll soon realize just what level you’re about to start playing on, you think that little imperial capital of yours had talents?" Leo’s disdainful voice pricked at my curiosity once more...

My aunt had said the same thing, not to place the geniuses here on any plane with any genius from back home.

But if they were that monstrous, then why bother accepting students from other places? Is it just to be appear fair? But from all I’ve heard, Aeternum doesn’t care about appearances, afterall, the world wasn’t fair..

Either way, I didn’t care, so long as I got to face worthy challenges, I’m all for it....

.......

2 days later...

"Woah!! What is that?" I couldn’t help exclaiming in utter wonder at what had appeared before me..

"That, my friend, is academy city, welcome, to Aeternum" Leo’s reply didn’t even register...

What I was seeing had taken my full attention..

It was the silhouette of a massive city, it sprawled like a slumbering beast, one whose ends I couldn’t make out, even from the skies..

I could see a multitude of massive galleons, more than twice the size of the ones that’d transported us back at the eastern domain, anchoring themselves on what looked like floating stations, the streets were jam packed with people, but that wasn’t even the scary part, it was the sheer amount of powerful auras emanating from the crowd, it was so dense it felt like my breath had turned shallow..

Yet, as majestic as the city was, it could never compare to the massive beast at its center..

Aeternum...

Built like an old-age Victorian castle stretched into a modern architectural empire, its vast white-gold walls rose in layered grandeur, too expansive to belong to a single structure.

The surface carried faint swirling engravings that felt almost unreadable at a glance, like patterns meant to be felt more than understood.

Glass panels were embedded seamlessly into the architecture, forming long, continuous spans between reinforced sections of white gold. They didn’t break the structure, they enhanced its scale instead, reflecting sky and light across its immense surface.

The academy didn’t sit on the land so much as it dominated it in tiers.

Its lower regions stretching outward like a sprawling institutional city, wide and structured with clean modern precision. From there, the entire complex rises in gradual but endless elevation, each layer becoming quieter, more refined, and more distant in presence.

The higher sections looked and felt less like buildings and more like reserved domains suspended above the rest, connected by vast elevated walkways and ascending platforms that didn’t look like simple infrastructure, only passageways between levels of authority.

And at the center of it all, the Aeternum spire, aunt raven had already told me, all I needed to know about it, but still, hearing about something and seeing it? Totally different scenario, it was as breathtaking as the silent black sentinel that stood towering even over it..

From a distance, Aeternum didn’t look anything like a school.

It looked like a living structure of layered worlds, each one stacked deliberately above the last, as if the concept of "height" itself determined status within it.

And the higher you look...

the less it felt like something built for learning..

"The graveyard of geniuses" looking at this monster of a structure, without even stepping foot within it yet, I understood clearly why it got that epithet..

Because this place looked like something built not to teach but to JUDGE...

"Heh.. got your socks blown off didn’t you" Leo’s teasing voice brought me out of my reverie and this time, I had no getbacks, because he was right, I’d been thoroughly impressed..

"Seems like we’re already late, the ceremony has already started"..

"So that was indeed the dean’s voice we heard all over the place?"

"Of course it was, who else do you think is powerful enough to project his voice all over terra"

"Damn..."

"Come... let’s hurry"...

.......

The closer we got to the academy’s central plaza, the more rowdy the atmosphere became and the moment we appeared above the central plaza, the pressure hit us like a wave....

The concentrated auras of an uncountable number of experts was unlike anything I’d ever felt before, I could feel my bones creaking as Chaotic Adaptation activated madly, intent on not collapsing before pressure..

"Hehehe.. think you can handle it?" Leo asked, a mocking edge in his voice..

"Try......" I forced out, I didn’t know how the others down there were dealing with this, after all, I could see their lack of struggle, but I wasn’t going to let Leo have his way..

"Alright then... I’m going in" Leo, the show bird that he was , had no thoughts of subtlety, the bastard spread his massive wings, took position and then nosedived like he was Michael fucking phelps...

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

The wind tore at my face, my eyes stung, but I held on..

I could’ve canceled it out with my talent, but I wasn’t going to ruin an epic entrance this early on, so, I withheld..

The closer we got to the ground, the worse it became..

I could feel a multitude of gazes locked onto us, many still trying to decide if we were a disruption or not, fortunately, the gazes only lasted a few moments before going away...

"Alright you motherfucker, this is my stop" when we were exactly 50 meters above ground, Leo stopped dead in his dive, the motion dragging me off of him in one violent push, a sense of deja vu washing over me..

"FUUUCKK!!!!" My despairing scream was met with nothing but the chicken-cat’s amused laughter as he flew off..

I turned mid air, "alright D, time to make another epic entrance" I breathed out slowly, my perception spreading out, my will bleeding into the atmosphere...

ROOOOOARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

An ancient draconic roar sounded out as Elira made her first ever public appearance, the gold of her shaft catching the light beautifully, her silver edged blade promising nothing but swift death...

I raised her up, her twin bladed edge glinting menacingly as I willed the atmosphere to solidify, not at my feet, but at her blade’s edge, then, I increased the speed of my descent, my body caught on flames briefly before..

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

I landed in a shower of gravel and dust, my mind uncaring for the situation of those already on the stage before me...

The moment the dust cleared, my awesomeness was revealed, my wind tousled hair, my large 7ft5 frame, my divinely handsome face, all added to the fact that I currently had elira planted firmly, blade first into the ground, a massive crater forming a natural barrier around us, no doubt made for a jarring entrance as I could feel the suffocating silence that had gripped the entire plaza..

"Ladies and gentlemen" my voice was low, yet in the quiet of the surroundings, it might as well have been thunder...

"Your main character..... has arrived"...

Swooosh!!!!
