Cool moonlight, partially obscured by clouds, spilled intermittently onto the earth.

The town street, bustling during the day, was now sowhat deserted, with only a few scattered figures present.

In this predominantly agricultural French town, after 9 PM was bedti. Thus, most shops along the street had already half-lowered their shutters, preparing to close.

The streetlights lining the road cast a pale yellow glow onto the town's pavent, dyeing the ground a shimring gold.

However, the long distances between the streetlights ant large areas of the town remained shrouded in darkness, forcing the few wanderers on the roadside to rely on the bright moonlight for vision.

Altrouge currently strolled along this deserted street. Though moving straight forward, she perfectly avoided the streetlight glow, constantly bathing in the cool moonlight.

Although not particularly averse to it, compared to artificial light, Altrouge still preferred bathing in the moonlight.

Not just because of her identity as a True Ancestor vampire, but more so because she was the daughter of the Crimson Moon—after all, the Crimson Moon was the moon itself.

A gentle breeze swept by, and the clouds covering half the moon slowly drifted away. Moonlight spilled unrestrained onto the earth. Subsequently, the bright moonlight turned blood-tinged.

Pale red moonlight shone upon Altrouge's body. Her ink-black evening gown, devoid of excessive decoration—if not for her crimson eyes and her jade-like skin faintly glowing even in darkness—she might have completely blended into the shadows.

Unlike her usual fourteen-year-old loli appearance, her current manifestation was that of a young woman in her pri, identical to Arcueid, differing only in her night-black, waist-length hair and her elegant, noble temperant.

This was her first transformation, and also her currently strongest form. After all, she was about to face her sowhat stubborn sister. If she didn't appear in this form, she might be killed by Arcueid on sight.

Walking along, Altrouge stopped her steps, standing not far from the cafe, looking directly at the crimson eyes staring intently at her. A faint smile appeared on her exquisitely crafted face. "Good evening, my dear sister!"

However, what answered her was Arcueid's ferocious claws. Fingers resembling soft, boneless jade slashed towards Altrouge's forehead.

Screech—!

The sharp whistling sound only arrived after Arcueid was close.

Looking at the claws gleaming coldly before her, Altrouge had no doubt this strike could pierce her skull. Faced with this rciless killing move, a trace of anger appeared on Altrouge's face.

"Why is it always a killing blow without a word every ti you see your sister?! You damn brat!!!"

Talons radiating an equally icy aura slashed towards Arcueid's face.

——

On a hillside north of the town, a team of about 30 clergyn, clad in black priest robes, stood atop the slope, monitoring the entire town from various angles.

These were Executors dispatched by the Church. Their purpose this ti was to handle the adverse effects caused by the battle between the White Princess and Roa.

Each appearance of Roa's reincarnated body signified a town being turned into a death zone by Roa, who desperately needed large amounts of blood to recover his strength. Thus, the Holy Church had to dispatch experienced Executors each ti to handle the aftermath.

The reason Executors were needed was simple: humans bitten by Roa would turn into Dead Apostles. Therefore, without considerable skill, sending anyone else would simply be feeding the Dead Apostles, let alone cleaning up the aftermath.

"Mister rem, has the White Princess confird Roa's location yet?" The middle-aged man leading the Executor queue asked rem Solomon beside him.

"Sa old story, Father Henri! We can only lock Roa down to this town, but can't determine the specific location," rem shrugged, chuckling lightly.

For him, the longer Roa lived, the better. After all, Arcueid only erged from her place of slumber, the Millennium Castle, when Roa manifested in the world. This was the only ti he could 'date' Arcueid.

As for the safety of the humans in the town? What did that have to do with him, rem? Not attacking humans for blood was already rem being extrely conscientious.

rem's smiling face was exceptionally jarring to the Executors present.

"Smiling cheerfully while seeing a town of tens of thousands about to fall into disaster." Watching rem's beaming face, Henri's face darkened. "Indeed, I still cannot work alongside a heretic like you!"

The Executors in the back row looked fiercely at rem. It seed if they had the chance, they wouldn't mind finishing rem off.

Although Executors were mostly devout believers who would do anything for their faith, when faith wasn't involved, they were basically humans with flesh and blood. They naturally felt sorrow for the town's impending disaster and anger towards rem's cold-bloodedness.

"Oh, is that so?" rem picked his ear, speaking casually. He had been in the Church's Burial Agency for hundreds of years. Almost every Church mber who saw him wore a fierce expression and spoke with cold sarcasm. He was basically used to it.

Just then, a priest's pupils contracted slightly, shouting loudly, "Captain! There's a situation at the cafe in Sector 21, which I'm monitoring! The White Princess, who was previously resting, has started fighting with an unidentified person! It seems to be an even match!"

"What? Soone can match the Princess evenly?" rem and Henri imdiately exclaid, turning their gazes towards the street where the cafe was located.

Ultimately, although Arcueid's power had been partially usurped by Roa, and she had to suppress her own urge to feed to prevent falling into a murderous demon, her strength was still at the pinnacle of the pyramid. People capable of fighting her were extrely few.

That's why rem and Henri were so surprised.

"Hmm? Who is this? A powerhouse not seen in the intelligence reports!!" Henri looked puzzledly at the two figures exchanging blows like lightning. During a stalemate in their clash, he saw Altrouge's figure.

"It's the Black Princess! And this form—have her injuries recovered?" rem's face changed drastically.

"The Princess is in danger!!!" rem's face turned ashen.

Among those present, only he, having served the Crimson Moon, knew the Black Princess's transford appearance and her true strength—a terrifying power capable of clashing with Arcueid at her peak, even gaining a slight upper hand in a short ti.

Worried about his goddess suffering a loss, rem charged towards the battlefield first.

"Black Princess Altrouge? Shouldn't her appearance be that of a fourteen-year-old girl? And this strength, it's too exaggerated! The Black Princess, chased all over by the Church, has this kind of power?"

Henri looked astonishedly at the two fiercely attacking and defending figures. If not for his own considerable strength, he wouldn't even be able to see their figures during the brief stalemates.

He had seen the Black Princess before; after all, the Church often had Executors team up to run the 'Black Princess dungeon.' But the Black Princess back then compared to now—it was truly worlds apart!

"How did we survive those pursuit campaigns back then?" Henri turned his head, asking the Executors behind him.

"It seems... she never paid any attention to us, Captain!" a sowhat younger Executor said blankly.

"—Hopefully, she won't pay attention to us this ti either." Turning his head back, Henri looked at the intense battle situation and swallowed hard.

"Princess!! Wait for !! Your subject rem is coming..." rem shouted while charging.

Before his words faded, he was slapped across the face by a savage beast claw.
