Haru, appearing abruptly before Roa, watched the incoming vampire claws.

He extended his index and ring fingers, making a mocking gesture by pointing his middle finger, and intentionally used an awkward pincer grip to lightly clamp down on one of the bone-chillingly sharp talons.

Seeing the mocking gesture, Roa's crimson serpent pupils flashed coldly.

The force in his hand instantly increased.

Crack—!

Roa's right ring finger bent unnaturally backward, touching the back of his hand. Under the principle of 'ten fingers connected to the heart,' Roa's sowhat paralyzed face also showed a trace of pained flesh.

The forceful slash of the vampire claws earlier had brought about his current bitter consequence. One of the ten talons was suddenly fixed, yet the other nine, under the montum of his forcefully swinging arm, continued their motion.

It could be said Roa broke this finger himself; after all, the greater the force applied, the greater the damage received. However, he couldn't concern himself with that now.

His right wrist suddenly twisted, and Roa directly snapped his own ring finger. His heel slamd into the ground, cracking the concrete floor, creating a large crater. Using the reaction force, Roa retreated like lightning to the window, creating a ten-ter distance.

Plop—!

A bloody finger fell to the ground. Countless flesh buds appeared on Roa's severed finger, and in the blink of an eye, his right hand had recovered. Roa stared coldly at the uninvited guest before him, like a chillingly sinister viper.

"Yo-ho, quite decisive, aren't you, Dead Apostle?" Haru chuckled rrily, looking at Roa who faced him as if facing a great enemy, sweeping his interested gaze over Roa's figure.

Deep blue hair, blood-red vertical pupils like a snake's, a cold and emotionless face, and savage claws on both hands.

Haru narrowed his eyes slightly.

Through the shell he had created, he saw Roa's essential soul—a pitch-black demonic serpent coiled upon itself, flicking its forked tongue.

Being stared at by Haru with that look of keen interest, Roa felt his chrysanthemum tighten, his whole body instantly tensing up. That gaze was far too familiar; eight hundred years ago, when he was still a Magus, he had faced those precious 'test subjects' with the sa gaze.

It was the loving gaze of a scientific researcher towards a 'little white mouse.'

Roa's face instantly darkened. He had always been the one treating others as lab rats. Being treated as a lab rat himself—this was the first ti in eight hundred years.

When had he, Roa, fallen to the point of being treated as a lab rat? The unprecedented encounter brought Roa an unprecedented sense of stimulation.

He sowhat looked forward to the despair that would show on the face of the guy opposite him after learning he was an Ancestor of Dead Apostles.

"—Bastard, it's you?" Bob, having escaped disaster, looked with surprise after recognizing the abruptly appearing Haru. But in just an instant, his expression turned grave as he stared intently at Roa.

"The guy opposite us should be one of those monsters targeted by the secret units according to rumors. Let's team up and escape! This kind of monster can only be handled by the governnt."

"—Indeed." Haru glanced at Bob, who was on high alert, currently reloading his gun, and chuckled lightly.

"Consider yourself lucky you raised a good daughter, Bob. Otherwise, I wouldn't have placed the replicated seven Holy Swords on you, nor would I have specially co to save your life," Haru rubbed his chin, speaking with a light laugh.

After all, they were his little lover's parents. If Haru didn't provide so insurance, he would probably be hated to death by Elesia if she found out later.

"Eh? Bastard, what do you an by that?" Bob aid his gun at Roa's heart, cautiously guarding against Roa, asking puzzledly.

An aura filled with bloodlust and chilling cold surged out.

Roa looked expressionlessly at Haru, an extrely cold voice slowly emanating from his mouth. "Those Holy Swords are yours? Are you from the Church? A mber of the Eighth Sacrant?!"

As a forr Church mber, Roa clearly knew the Church's distribution of authority. The Eighth Sacrant was the departnt responsible for managing and maintaining Holy Relics.

Saints holding Sacred Artifacts were also under this departnt's jurisdiction. Therefore, he imdiately judged Haru to be a mber of the Church faction.

"Church? Eighth Sacrant? Are you a Church person specialized in dealing with monsters?" Bob's brow twitched, glancing at Haru with so surprise.

As a Catholic believer, Bob naturally associated these terms with legendary Church organizations like witch hunters.

"Sothing like that. So, Uncle, I'll handle the vampire in front of us. You should quickly retreat," Haru shrugged. Strictly speaking, he really was a Church mber; who would dare say God wasn't part of the Church? Oh, wait, he was the Church's God.

"But, Elesia..." Bob's face was extrely gloomy as he spoke worriedly. He had scanned the entire room earlier but couldn't find his beloved daughter's figure, which gave him an ominous premonition.

"She's in the villa on the right side of town." Seeing Bob's gloomy face, Haru inford him of Elesia's location.

"...Then I'll leave it to you, bastard! Co back alive! I don't want my daughter to be a widow so young!" Bob muttered, trotting away from the third floor.

"Seems like I've sohow been flagged by soone!" Hearing Bob's words, Haru's expression turned strange.

Haru shrugged, turning his gaze towards Roa before him, who resembled a bloodthirsty mad demon, and asked puzzledly, "Judging by your appearance, you seem to hold quite a grudge against Holy Swords?"

Under the cold moonlight, Roa's expression was exceptionally savage. His crimson serpent pupils continuously scanned Haru's body. His ten fingers, tipped with sharp claws, moved incessantly, as if considering where to start dismbering Haru into eight pieces.

"What luck! Before killing that little brat, I encounter another damn Saint? So, should I just kill you like this? No, no. How about I turn you into a Dead Apostle subordinate to ? I'd love to see the Church's expression when they discover a Saint has beco a Dead Apostle!"

Roa grinned, staring at Haru like a bloodthirsty demon. He slowly opened his blood-red maw filled with sharp teeth. His crimson eyes flashed, and his figure instantly appeared before Haru.

Just then, a knightly sword, its blade as clear and transparent as lake water, appeared in Haru's hand.

"Co! Try struggling a bit, little black snake!" Haru playfully raised Arondight, the sword blade silently gliding through the air, striking Roa's sharp claws.

Outside the cafe, seated, Arcueid swung her small feet clad in pure white over-the-knee socks, looking expectantly towards the end of the street.

Then Arcueid turned her head, looked at the clock hanging on the cafe wall, and said with adorable cluelessness, "8:15... Moh~~ Still have to wait over an hour!"

At the end of the street, a figure slowly appeared.
