"Darius, when do you plan to open the pavilion?" John asked when he noticed that Darius had finished his cultivation.
Darius considered for a mont and said, "Hmm, I have indeed wasted half the day. We might as well open in a few minutes and let people in."
"Very well, I shall prepare myself for any situations that may occur!" John said, filled with excitent. He couldn’t wait to show his might in front of the pavilion owner.
In reality, he wasn’t excited for Darius or anything of that sort. He simply wanted to secure bonuses if a problem arose and he managed to resolve it. He believed that soon enough, he would cultivate to a far higher realm than his current one and be able to wipe the floor with Darius.
Indeed!
His main goal had always been to surpass Darius and leave the shackles of this pavilion. Or rather, gain control of the pavilion, obtain its advantages, and uncover its origins. Only with enough power would he be able to do so.
’Dare to make beco your pavilion’s guardian? I’ll make sure to gain ample experience and surpass you once I beco stronger,’ John thought inwardly with a smirk.
He then returned to his position beside the closed door and waited like a proper guardian, not even daring to et Darius’s gaze.
If Darius knew what the other party was thinking, he would probably laugh himself to death and not pay him any attention.
Surpass ?
Laughable.
By the ti you break through one major realm, I would already be several major realms higher thanks to the panel.
"There was actually a store in this alleyway? Even though I’ve been living in Dragon City for so many years, I never knew about it!" a woman exclaid in surprise.
"It looks like this store has so backing. Earlier, I heard that the pavilion owner angered the Wolf Fang Guild, and even though they dispatched an envoy accompanied by four guardians, they were powerless against him!" an old man remarked.
"No wonder he dares to open in this place infested with gangs! Let’s go in and take a look!"
A group of young n and won stord into the pavilion.
And so, many people entered the store out of curiosity.
Darius had returned from the second floor and sat expressionlessly behind the reception desk, though a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"I hope they don’t get frightened by the prices of the services."
It was the first ti that the Immortal Pavilion had been this lively.
Thanks to the earlier incident at the academy, the Immortal Pavilion beca well known around the neighborhood in less than an hour. Even though everyone complained about the remote location, they still ca to satisfy their curiosity.
A woman stepped into the store carrying a small dog in her arms. After taking a casual glance around the pavilion, she nodded in approval. She quite liked the decor and how neatly everything was arranged. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, clearly designed to put custors at ease.
Just from the decoration alone, one could tell that this was a high-quality establishnt.
"Oh my, shop owner, what do you sell here? Your store’s decoration is really impressive. It’s comparable to the private suites of the two best alchemy stores in Dragon City!" the woman said as she wiped so drool from the dog’s mouth and casually rubbed it onto her own clothes.
To most people, such a scene would be disgusting. However, to the woman, it seed completely natural. Her expensive clothes posed no obstacle whatsoever to such behavior. It was obvious that she ca from a wealthy background.
Darius stared expressionlessly at the woman’s hand for a mont before preparing to answer, only to be interrupted.
"You sound as if you’ve actually been to places like the Apex dicine Pavilion! Stop bragging, woman!" the old man snorted disdainfully.
The woman was instantly aggravated.
She placed her dog on the ground and put her hands on her hips. Staring at the old man with widened eyes, she looked ready to engage in a battle of wits.
"Excuse , custors. If you’re looking to rent sothing or issue a quest, the board is right behind you. If you’re looking to duel, please do it outside."
Darius calmly interrupted the great battle that was about to erupt between the two neighbors.
The woman coldly snorted. Rembering that this was soone else’s business, she restrained herself and turned toward the service board.
"I can tell you’re not a bad lad, and I know running a business isn’t easy. This old lady will support you a little. My husband is a rchant, so don’t worry about money. I’ll buy..."
From the rumors circulating around the neighborhood, she already knew that the Immortal Pavilion rented cultivation rooms and accepted quests. However, she was rely a mortal and had no connection to such matters. Thus, when her eyes landed on the dicinal pills, she beca slightly excited and thought of buying so as a gift for her son.
Suddenly, she froze.
The corner of her mouth twitched violently as she stared at the prices in disbelief.
The old man was puzzled by her reaction.
Turning his head, he followed her gaze.
The next mont, he nearly vomited blood.
"Oh my god! A single pill costs one Spirit Stone? Wait, becoming a mber requires one hundred gold coins?! Why don’t you just go rob a bank?!" The old man was so shocked that his beard nearly fell off from trembling.
The woman’s plump body was trembling as well.
"Lad, this is unethical!" she cried out in a piercing voice. "With prices like these, who would dare take your pavilion seriously and buy any of your services?!"
The old man and the woman, who had originally been adversaries, suddenly joined forces against Darius.
In all worlds, regardless of culture, era, or history, people would unite in the face of a common enemy. Even bitter enemies would temporarily shake hands to deal with a greater threat before turning on each other again.
In this case, the two of them had done exactly that.
anwhile, Darius remained indifferent and expressionless.
"There’s a reason for the prices. If you’re interested in renting or purchasing anything, then please do so. If you’re not interested or cannot afford it, then please leave."
As soone aiming to beco the Supre Pavilion Master, Darius had his pride.
While he occasionally joked with the system, that was rely to pass the ti. It did not an he would lower himself to explain or justify every decision he made.
The woman looked at Darius as if he were insane before quickly leaving with her dog in tow.
The hunchbacked old man also shook his head and walked out of the store.
Darius was not surprised by their reactions, as everything had proceeded exactly as he expected.
The prices of the pavilion’s services were enough to drive away the vast majority of ordinary custors.
Most of the people who entered reacted in the sa manner as the woman and left while grumbling.
The crowd disappeared just as quickly as it had arrived.
The once lively Immortal Pavilion returned to its forr desolate state, and not a single person was willing to spend money there.
Just as Darius was about to sigh, the door opened once more, and a figure wearing luxurious robes stepped inside. Unlike the others, he didn’t look at the prices. And instead, his eyes were fixed on the cultivation rooms right behind the receptionist’s desk.
