Chloe awoke to the sound of a gunshot, that's why she sat up with a set and looked around, then another shot sounded out, she quickly followed the sound and soon arrived outside the house where she found Mike with her service pistol pointed towards his own stomach, then another shot ran out followed by a very flat sounding
"Ouch"
"What are you doing!?"
"Oh hey Chloe, I figured I should try and see if I was immune to bullets?"
Mike turned around, Chloe looked at his stomach and found that while there wasn't a gunshot wound like she expected there was a couple of bruises on his chiseled abs
"How the fuck"
Amazed she walked over and poked the bruises on Mike's stomach before she looked up at him and asked
"This was caused by my service pistol right?"
Mike nodded before he rolled down the leather armor again, then he turned to Chloe and Handed her the pistol as he spoke
"Just please don't kill yourself with it"
Chloe looked dumbfounded at the pistol in her hands for a few monts before she looked up at Mike that took a few steps back as he showed a teasing smile
"You kind of look like you want to shoot with that?"
Chloe nodded before she checked the magazine for bullets, once she confird that there were still bullets in the magazine she looked over at Mike again, then with a slight smile she asked
"Do you mind if I shoot you a bit?"
"No, not at all"
Mike drew the knife and spun it around like a toy before he slipped into a stance only a few ters away from her, Chloe sighed and raised the pistol before she aid at Mike's head and squeezed the trigger, a gunshot ran out before she realized that Mike was now standing in front of her within striking distance, he nodded
"Always wanted to do that"
"Do what?"
Mike smiled mysteriously before he turned around and began searching for sothing, a few hundred ters away he found what he was looking for and showed it to Chloe that gasped
"No way"
What Mike showed her was a 9mm bullet, cut cleanly in half, Mike handed it to her before he clapped her on the shoulder
"Here, you can keep that as a nto of our eting"
Chloe nodded before she looked up and found Mike was already walking back towards the house, she looked around and saw the deer in the distance keeping their eyes on her, she sighed and gave up escaping for now as she walked back to the house after Mike when they returned Mike made so noodles for them to eat, Chloe looked down at the bowl of noodles then at Mike that was beside her and sighed before she began eating
The following night Mike awoke with a set, a smile ford on his face before he got up and out of bed, then he quickly walked downstairs and found the room where Chloe was sleeping, there he found her curled up on the bed, Mike poked her check until she woke up, she was slightly panicked as she scrambled away from his touch
"Eek! Mike is that you!?"
"Yeah, Wakey~ Wakey~"
Chloe looked into the darkness in front of her as her eyes adjusted to the lack of light before she sighed when she saw Mike
"I thought you were going to attack in my sleep"
"Please, my wife would kill , then you and finally herself"
"...Of course, you're married"
"Yeah quite happily, she is waiting for at ho But that's not the point, you're friends are here to pick you up"
Chloe looked at Mike for a mont before she nodded and stood up from the bed, she was still wearing her flight suit, she showed a slight smile, Mike asked her
"Ready to go ho?"
"...Yeah"
"Good, let's go then"
Mike reached out his hand to help her up from the bed before the two of them walked outside and stood in front of the house they had spent the last two days in, Mike sighed before his tail flickered
*CLANG*
The loud clang was followed by the echo of a gunshot as Mike inspected his tail-hatchet
"Not a scratch and that's after being hit by an anti-material rifle I would probably have to dodge a 120mm dart then"
"Dart?"
"Yeah a Tank fired APFSDS, you know an Armor-piercing-fin-stabilized-discarding-sabot shell"
Chloe looked at him in wonder before she eventually decided just to nod
"I see"
Mike looked to the front again and spoke
"500 ters"
Then he crossed his arms as a half-transparent red barrier appeared around him and Chloe, monts later sothing sparked off the barrier before another gunshot echoed out, Mike comnted
"He's kind of good, firing an anti-material rifle from a Black Hawk at about 4 kiloters away"
"You can see him?"
"Of course I have perfect night vision, I am not a demon for show"
Chloe sighed, then another 2 shots were blocked by the barrier over the next half a minute as Mike muttered again
"350 ters"
Then ca a hail of suppressed gunfire, it all bounced off the barrier, then ca another salvo before Mike shouted out
"You guys better shoot the 120mm already!"
Silence followed before a flash lit up the horizon, then a loud clang sounded out as the half-transparent barrier held steady, Chloe covered her ears and crouched down when she opened her eyes she saw a pool of molten tal running down the barrier Mike spoke
"That would be the HEAT or High-explosive-anti-tank round Co on fire the dart already!"
Mike seed fired up, anwhile, Chloe paled slightly, then another flash on the horizon followed by a loud clang as sothing too fast for Chloe to see shattered on the barrier sending tal fragnts flying all over
"A shatter Am I aweso or what? Ahahah, I wonder what mom would say if she knew that I would really be able to deflect a tank round like I played when I was small?"
Then after a few monts, a series of flashes appeared on the horizon as Mike narrowed his eyes, then a couple of loud bangs sounded out as the barrier was hit repeatedly as the entire tank group opened op on him, Mike began humming a song as Chloe lay flat on the ground next to him with her hands covering her ears, tal fragnts flew all over the place and completely destroyed the house they had been spending the last two days in, then after frying for a couple of minutes without effect the tanks stopped firing, Mike poked Chloe with his foot as he spoke
"Co on, it's over, stand up"
Chloe rubbed her head as she wobbly stood up, Mike helped her up before he showed a friendly smile as he looked straight into the darkness ahead of him and spoke
"Welco to Ehm, what was the na of the farm again..? Anyways Hi there"
Out of the darkness appeared 16 n clad in black uniforms wearing body armor and caring rifles fitted with suppressors, on their heads were helts fitted with night-vision goggles, they spread out, pointing their rifles at Mike before one of them spoke
"Release Major Williams"
Mike nodded before he spoke as his tail wiped back and forth behind him
"Nah, Chloe and I have been getting along fine until you guys showed up"
The group of elite soldiers fell silent as they apparently waited for orders, Mike looked at the video caras mounted on the side of their helts and gave a little wave, after a couple of seconds the soldier spoke out again
"Do you have any demands?"
Mike's smile widened before he spoke
"Yeah, pardon from any cri committed in connection with the kidnapping of Chloe Williams and the downing of her very expensive F-35, that and a US citizenship"
The soldiers looked at each other, clearly not expecting Mike to make those demands, one of the soldiers sighed before he lowered his rifle and reached up and flipped his night-vision goggles up, then he clicked his helt open and took it off exposing his slight youthful looks, then under the amazed gazes of the other elite soldiers he took a couple of steps forwards and reached out his hand as he spoke
"This will probably get court marshaled My na is Adam, do you have a na?"
Mike nodded before the half-transparent barrier protecting him and Chloe disappeared, then he took a step forwards and shook hands with Adam as he spoke
"I do, the na's Mike, Despite how I look I am from Earth too"
After Mike shook hands with Adam sat down on the ground, Adam looked at him for a few monts before he followed suit and sat down too, his eyes followed the tip of Mike's tail that whipped back and forth behind him as he waited for new orders from above the food-chain
