Chloe could not believe her eyes, to her side sat a literal demon from myths and tales And it appeared that he was eating instant noodles while his blue bone-spiked tail swayed from side to side
"Oh, right you can't eat like that I hope you're left-handed"
The demon then whipped its tail faster than Chloe could see, before she managed to flinch she realized that her left hand had been cut free, then ca a simple command
"Eat before it gets cold Nobody likes cold noodles Unless it's soba"
Chloe tried to pick up her fork but realized that her hands were shaking too much for her to eat, it was only now that she realized how terrified she was, this was a primal fear, sothing that no amount of training could have prepared her for, the demon sighed and just as Chloe feared the worst it picked up the fork and curled so noodles around on it before it brought the fork up to her mouth, after a few seconds of Chloe not doing anything the demon spoke again
"Here cos the airplane?"
Chloe carefully opened her mouth, the demon nodded and brought the fork into her mouth, she closed her mouth around the noodles and after the demon pulled the fork out she began chewing, she realized that she was unable to taste anything, at that point a thought went through her head
'Ah I am probably going to die here'
Once that thought entered Chloe's head tears started to spill from her eyes, no matter the amount of training she had received, once she realized that all the things she wasn't going to be able to do, all the people she wasn't able to et flashed through her head, then she heard the demon sigh again, and realized that it was probably going to kill her now but to her surprise, it reached up towards her face, Chloe closed her eyes and so ti passed before she realized that it was wiping her tears away with its fingers, she also realized that its hands were warm, at that point, she realized that there had been no anger or annoyance in its tone, the demon spoke again as it wiped her tears
"Good thing you are a woman, no way I am wiping so sweaty buff man's tears"
Mike eventually finished wiping the tears of the female pilot he had captured, she was African-Arican and short black curly hair, brown skin, and eyes also she was a head shorter than Mike, still, she was well built as expected of a fighter pilot, Mike helped her eat the rest of the noodles before he opened a bottle of water and placed it on the table for her to drink, she looked at the bottle of water for a bit, probably to decided if it was worth risking poison to drink, Mike showed a slight smile and spoke
"If I wanted to kill you I would have done so already, co on drink"
The female pilot drank almost half the water bottle before she put it down on the table again and looked to her side over at Mike before she asked
"Why am alive?"
Mike's smile widened a little before he raised 3 fingers
"Firstly because I have to check if I carry any infectious diseases that Earth's population is valuable to"
The female pilot nodded, then Mike spoke again
'"Secondly because I need so information about the current state of the world"
She nodded again then Mike's smile disappeared
"Thirdly because I co in peace"
Then Mike made a hand gesture from a popular Sci-fi show, the female pilot's eyes widened slightly before she asked
"You're from Earth?"
Mike nodded as he spoke
"Yeah believe it or not I was born here in Denmark, my na is Mike"
The female pilot nodded before she spoke
"My na is Chloe Williams"
Mike nodded before his tail wiped a couple of tis, cutting the ropes binding Chloe's hand and feet were cut, she showed a smile and stood up before she bolted towards the exit of the building, Mike sat and looked at the door she had just run out of before he sighed, then he looked down at the table and muttered
"She didn't even finish her noodles"
Then he sent a ntal ssage to his newly acquired servants
Chloe ran over an open field, from the surroundings she gathered that she was sowhere on Fyn in the countryside, up ahead was a forest, she hoped that she could lose Mike there and find a way to regroup with the Maries, she noticed a pack of deer off to her right side that seed to be moving towards her, she was puzzled by this but figured that they had been spooked by sothing That's what she figured anyways, but when they suddenly surrounded her in a perfect circle she was forced to stop running, as she gathered her breath she looked around when a voice ca from above
"You realize I can chase down an F-35 fighter jet right?"
Chloe looked up and saw Mike floating in the air with two wings behind his back that seed to be made of pure blood, he landed next to her and spoke to the deer that had stopped Chloe
"Thanks, guys"
The deer all lowered their heads before they walked back to where they ca from, Chloe looked after them before she turned to Mike and asked
"How did you..?"
Mike grinned before he asked
"Do you really want to know?"
Chloe looked at Mike for a few monts before she shook her head and began walking back towards the house where she ca from, Mike floated down and landed beside her as he spoke
"You are kind of dense, you know that?"
Chloe frowned
"Why?"
Mike sighed before he spoke
"I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted to use you to test for diseases, I've been on another Planet for so ti"
Chloe stopped walking and turned to Mike before she laughed for a bit, Mike kept a straight face, eventually, her laugh turned slightly nervous before she stopped laughing altogether and asked
"Really?"
Mike nodded before he spoke simply
"Yeah"
Chloe looked at him for a bit before she nodded and continued walking back towards the house, Mike shrugged before he followed after her
In the evening Mike was sitting in front of a lit fireplace, Chloe was sitting a bit away from the fireplace on a chair as she looked at the side of Mike's face before she looked into the fire like he did, then after a bit, she asked
"You've been in a war right?"
Mike nodded, eyes still locked into the fire, Chloe gathered her courage before she asked another question
"...Why are you here on Earth Mike?"
Mike continued looking into the fire, then just as Chloe had given up getting an answer and was about to ask another question he spoke
"...My superior discovered my conviction was faltering and sent ho to take so ti to rediscover it"
Chloe nodded before she asked a question she knew was taboo for soldiers
"So You've killed people?"
To Chloe's surprise, Mike answered right away
"Yeah, I started here on Earth when I was young by accidentally killing my old man with an empty beer bottle Just bang, over the head, he never woke up after that... When I ca over there I killed beasts, n, won, and children to grow my strength, to survive If you ask if I regret it I don't have a clear answer Not yet anyway"
Chloe nodded again then she thought for a bit before she asked another question
"How did you turn into That?"
Mike chuckled before he answered her question
"By pursuing strength Plus having a tail is handier than you think"
Mike swung the tail from side to side before he suddenly stopped looking at the fire and stood up before he stretched, then he turned away from the fire and looked at Chloe as he spoke
"Now for my questions First, what happened since the EU was destroyed?"
Chloe sighed before she began speaking, from what she said Mike learned so key factors, firstly 'the Red death' was the na of the event, from the red glow that had taken the lives of so many people, it had been 3 years since it happened, there was no known cause for the event but it had exposed mana to the general public, for soti after the event the Earth had united, but once it was clear that it was not so sort of alien invasion the superpowers were at each other's throats again, this was mostly over claims on the so-called 'de-colonized zone' or simply the area that 'the Red death' had spread itself over, though the superpowers feared a second 'Red death' the promise of all that land was enough for them to ignore the threat, Mike sighed as he finished asking questions before he spoke
"I'll have to sleep on that you are free to go outside if you run away from the house again the deer will bring you back in a sorry state, oh and no entering my bedroom I'll be sleeping in the room upstairs"
Chloe nodded and spoke
"I am not going to run away and risk my countryn's lives Or your anger for that matter"
Mike nodded before he walked upstairs, as he ascend the stairs he spoke out without turning back
"Good night Chloe"
