Imdiately after, Kim Woojin’s body expelled a do of blue fla.
The flas burned brightly for a second, travelling half a dozen ters, before disappearing. It was like a glowing bubble that popped after reaching the specified distance.
’The blue fla radiated intense heat. The inside of the do should have been a thousand tis hotter.’ Oliver gauged.
The heat would have been enough to weld tals and incinerate unshielded living beings.
’The fla is similar to plasma arcs.’ Oliver noted.
The ground where Woojin stood had taken on a black, charred appearance, while so of the stones nearby showed signs of lting.
The sll of burned grass and mud wafted into the air.
Oliver watched the sight from a couple of ters away.
Fortunately, he had jumped back. Or else, he would have turned into a charred corpse.
"A high intensity, low radius, AOE attack."
Oliver glanced over to Kim Woojin, amused.
The heat from the flas didn’t touch Woojin.
Despite breathing heavily, he looked completely fine.
"Did you lure closer deliberately?" Oliver asked, his lips curling up.
He was always up for a good battle. The thought of ripping a stronger enemy excited him.
anwhile, his knees healed.
Kim Woojin, on the other hand, wore a scowl.
"Why do I have to lure you? I can kill you with a snap of my fingers." He said.
Woojin didn’t want to lose face. The blue fla do attack, which did AOE damage, was his special skill.
It employed focused use of his ability, creating both an offensive strike and a defensive shield.
However, it missed Oliver.
Woojin was frustrated.
Breathing deeply, he cald himself.
Any AOE ability was expensive. Instantly spreading mana around him and turning it into fla was not easy. Especially his blue fla, which consud mana like crazy.
By trying to strike Oliver, he had wasted about a thousand units of mana.
It was a substantial amount, even for a C-ranker like him.
With mana in the eight thousand range, he could use it six more tis before he ran out.
Just the thought frustrated him.
Swiftly raising his sword, he dashed at Oliver.
His speed was quick, but he lacked agility.
Oliver could see the weakness and instantly retaliated by side-stepping to avoid the sword at the last mont.
"Too slow." He comnted and slipped behind Woojin.
Raising his fist, he tried to hit Woojin, right between the head and neck.
Woojin was prepared.
He used mana to create a flaming shield to protect himself.
Because of not having a weapon, Oliver wouldn’t be able to break the fla shield, he thought.
However, Oliver smirked and changed his target. The attack towards the neck was feint.
His actual target was the knees.
Grinning like a madman, he pulled his arm inwards, twisted his torso, and used his left leg to strike the right leg of Woojin.
Woojin panicked.
The onlookers who were standing silently by the side also panicked.
The fluidity of Oliver’s movents was unmatched in their eyes.
While they could see the trajectory of his attack, they failed to find a way to dodge it.
’Woojin would have to use the fla shield to defend against.’ They thought simultaneously.
Using the fla shield again would an dissipating the one protecting the neck and creating a larger one to defend his entire back.
’It would cost a lot of mana.’
’Does he have the ti?’
The onlookers tightened their fists.
So of them wished Woojin to dodge or defend because the face of the Kim family was at stake.
However, others wished him to fail.
As usual in large families, there was competition for resources within the family.
So of them wanted Woojin to fail so that they could stand over him.
Oliver was too imrsed in the battle to care about any of that.
He kicked with all his power, targeting the knee from behind.
If the strike connects, Kim Woojin will lose his balance.
If the strike connected with the nerve, he would struggle to stand up.
Unless he used a preposterous amount of mana to shield his body.
However, shielding like that cos at the cost of wasting a lot of mana.
Oliver would be satisfied with either outco.
As Oliver’s leg neared the knee, Woojin sprang into action.
He dissipated the shield covering his head and focused on generating one that covered his entire back.
He had quick judgnt and decided to form the shield upwards from the predicted impact point.
The shield, the size of the palm and circular in shape, glowed and appeared right behind the knee.
Imdiately, Oliver lowered his leg.
He had already started the attack motion and couldn’t stop without damaging his body.
So, he changed it slightly to attack the calf muscles.
-
As the ti slowly crawled by, both were aware of the critical mont in their battle.
Oliver smirked as the blue fla shield spread like a wildfire, covering Woojin’s leg thinly, slowly thickening in hardness.
Just before his leg struck the calf muscles, he stealthily converted so blood to mana.
A flickering golden light appeared on his shin.
"Hm..." A barely audible chuckle escaped from his lips.
The golden sheen protected his leg from burning under the blue fire.
*Crack*
Like ripping paper, his legs broke the newly ford shield, precisely connecting with the calf muscles.
The golden mana had made his leg stronger and harder.
His shin smashed into Woojin’s calf muscles like a blunt weapon, crushing muscle fibres and cracking the bone.
Suddenly, Woojin felt the strength in his leg disappear. His body buckled as he fell to the right side.
Oliver’s shin snapped Woojin’s, causing him to fall.
The pain ca a beat later.
As he widened his eyes in disbelief, Woojin felt a torrential pour of pain signal swarming his mind.
*AAAAH*
He scread as though he was being slaughtered.
However, Oliver didn’t stop.
Having achieved what he wanted, he grabbed Woojin’s hand and snatched away the sword.
Woojin was in imnse pain. He was terrified by the sudden change.
When he saw Oliver’s deathly grin, his eyes nearly popped.
Before he could process what was happening...
Before his body could touch the ground, Oliver swung the sword four tis.
Four precise cuts.
Each targeting the tendons on his limbs.
Blood splurted out like a geyser as he fell onto the ground, totally defeated.
There was no way he could fight anymore.
It doesn’t matter how much mana he had. He was thoroughly stomped in the last few seconds.
After Woojin fell to the ground, he scread in pain, sending fear into those around.
At the sa ti, Oliver ignored Woojin and looked at the surroundings.
Pointing the sword, he asked, "Who’s next?"
