City of Freedom, Central Tower.
Charlotte sat on the Alliance Hierarch's throne, massaging her temples with a hint of a headache.
In the hall, leaders and officials from various city-states of the City State Alliance were quietly lining up, respectfully waiting to report on their work.
"Lilith, the work of clearing the timber in the northern forests has been preliminarily completed. As you requested, we have cleared enough land."
"Not bad."
"Next, we plan to hire Elf craftsn to start fortress construction according to the plan. Do you think that is feasible?"
"That's fine."
"There is also... regarding the Arrays for resisting those Cultists in the north, the Favored have co up with so suggestions..."
"There's no problem, just proceed as discussed."
"There's also the selection of the trusted aides, we've completed the preliminary selection and will conduct the final review this afternoon. You will choose the final candidate."
"Right."
"In addition, there's the selection of the maids. The announcent has been published, and according to your requirents, the registration period is set for one month."
"Mhm."
"..."
After the last official finished reporting, the morning had already passed.
Only then did Charlotte relax. The expressionless and pretty face that she had maintained for the sake of dignity and identity suddenly beca animated:
"Sigh... it's finally over."
"Fortunately, Lilith left plenty of information and the capabilities of these leaders and officials are not bad. I managed to bluff my way through without revealing my identity."
"But... what on earth is happening? How did I beco Lilith after this Crossing?"
Saying this, Charlotte reached out and touched a certain part of her body that felt quite nice, shaking her head:
"No... rather, how did they co to regard as Lilith?"
Charlotte was puzzled.
Really puzzled.
She had indeed successfully Crossed.
However, for so reason, after this Crossing, everyone recognized her as Lilith.
At first, Charlotte wondered if she had Crossed into Lilith's body. After all, Lilith's appearance had changed after her First Embrace, becoming very similar to her own.
But she was certain that this body was her own.
Though it was in its adult form, the Divine Fire at the heart was unmistakable.
It was indeed her own Divine Fire, which she was very familiar with, and she could not be wrong about it—let alone the core of the Faith Network that had already taken shape within it. Although it was still unable to communicate with her followers in another tiline, it could prove her identity.
Moreover, Charlotte could still faintly sense the presence of the Blood Holy Scripture, even more clearly than during the previous two Crossings.
Of course, there was also the body shape.
Even though the grown-up Lilith was about the sa height as her, the two had vastly different figures...
How could the people of the Free City State Alliance not see that?
Sothing was wrong.
Very wrong.
Initially, Charlotte suspected she might have been caught in a Magic Illusion Realm, but she dismissed this after inspecting it with Divine Power.
Afterward, she considered whether the people around her might be experiencing so problems, but after quietly checking the spiritual power of those who regarded her as Lilith, she was quite sure they were perfectly normal.
They... truly regarded her as Lilith.
What's more, there was not the slightest trace of their mories or thoughts being changed or influenced.
Charlotte had also thought that perhaps Lilith's appearance had changed again after becoming a Demigod, with the more prominent features growing more prominent and her face becoming more like Charlotte's, making it difficult for others to distinguish between her and Lilith...
But after further investigation, she discovered it didn't seem to be the case.
"I woke up this morning in Lilith's bedroom."
"I've asked the guards, as well as the maids. In their perception, last night... 'Lady Lilith' indeed went to sleep in her bedroom."
"But this morning, it was '' who woke up."
"Where did Lilith go then?"
Charlotte was puzzled.
This Crossing was different from the previous two.
Not only had her body changed, but her "identity" had changed as well.
Her only consolation might be that she is, after all, Lilith's "teacher." During her last Crossing, she had observed Lilith handling works several tis and could mimic it with close to complete accuracy.
The leaders and officials of the Free Castle Alliance didn't notice anything wrong with her, their expressions showing not the slightest anomaly.
Combining all the various probes and investigations after awakening, Charlotte had a very subtle feeling.
That feeling... it was as if...
"As if my existence replaced Lilith's existence after the Crossing," Charlotte mumbled to herself.
Once this thought erged, Charlotte suddenly froze.
Her expression fluctuated, becoming pensive:
"To replace...?"
"Could it be... this is also part of Lilith's plan?"
Charlotte was not clear about Lilith's exact purpose.
But through the diaries of the Crimson Queen Royena, she knew that the other party had so expectations for her.
Or rather, hoped that she would achieve sothing after "Crossing" through history.
"Perhaps... this was deliberately orchestrated by Lilith."
Charlotte's eyes sparkled as she looked at the stone chronicle on the wall.
The year of Apocalypse 495.
It had been nearly 15 years since her last Crossing.
Looking outside, it seed to be winter; snow covered everything in the distance, and only the city was protected by a Magic Array that insulated it from the severe cold.
"City of Freedom... Lutecia... I see, I had forgotten that 'Lutecia' is actually a transliteration from the Ancient Elf Language, commonly used in the Free continents," she mused.
"However, in the afterlife, this land is not so cold. As the Royal Capital of the New Moon Kingdom, the climate of Lutecia is quite mild. The historical discrepancy with the afterlife is so vast; could it be due to changes in Magic Power...?"
Charlotte spoke to herself.
This Crossing had taken her by surprise.
But it did not affect her plans.
The main purpose of her Crossing this ti was to increase her power aiming for the Old Gods in the Northern Border. Now walking as "Lilith," it was actually more convenient for her to pursue this task.
After all, the Free City State Alliance was an enemy of the Old Gods, and from the mories she had seen in those shards, she knew that the war between them was still ongoing.
The biggest difference, perhaps, was that the Free City State Alliance was no longer a small force at risk of being wiped out at any mont; it had beco a behemoth that occupied almost half of the Northern Border.
This was all thanks to the ergence of the "favored clan," hmm... that was how the people of the Free Castle Alliance called the Bloodline.
Wait...
Bloodline?
As if sothing had occurred to her, Charlotte had a thought:
"As a Blood True Ancestor, I can sense the location of all Bloodlines."
"I have given Lilith her First Embrace, so... logically, I should also be able to sense the location of Lilith's bloodline."
"In the past, there were no Bloodlines in this ti and space, but now it's different."
"Maybe... this way, I can find her!"
With that thought, Charlotte sank back into her consciousness.
Unlike her last Crossing, this ti Charlotte effortlessly entered the spirit world of the Dark Night Ancient Castle.
Sitting high upon the Blood Throne, Charlotte's Divine Power stirred, causing crimson mist to billow forth and form a vast Star Sea.
However, when Charlotte gazed upon the Star Sea, she let out a slight sigh:
"As expected... is it so?"
Just as she had anticipated, she had indeed successfully summoned the Crimson Star Sea, a symbol of the Bloodline.
But the Star Sea before her was entirely different from the one from her mories.
Like her Faith Network, the Crimson Star Sea she had summoned had a vast area of void, not rely empty but seemingly "shielded," and the region that was shielded was precisely where the stars representing the Bloodline used to be in Charlotte's mory.
Charlotte could even faintly sense so kind of rejection.
This aversion was not only resisting her exploration of the Crimson Star Sea, but when she tried to delve deeper, it felt as if the entire real world also began to resist her.
The feeling was subtle and strange, as if she was an anomaly to the world.
Charlotte pondered with so conjecture.
If her judgnt was correct, this rejection might very well originate from "ti space."
"If I continue to delve deeper, I might be directly kicked back to the future ti space."
Charlotte muttered to herself.
With that thought, she stopped her deep investigation and instead shifted her gaze to another direction of the Crimson Star Sea.
Setting aside the interference of "ti space," she could still see a small number of stars there.
Moreover, she could clearly sense the "coordinates" of those stars.
Charlotte suddenly understood.
These stars belonged to this ti and space.
These were the second-generation Bloodlines that Lilith had First Embraced!
However, as Charlotte furthered her sensing, she did not find the aura of Lilith among these stars.
Lilith... seed to have disappeared.
"Could it be that I have truly 'replaced' Lilith's existence?"
Charlotte was sowhat doubtful and astonished.
And just at that mont, she sensed one of the stars in the Crimson Star Sea was rapidly approaching.
The brilliance of that star was about the sa as that of a Blood Count, giving Charlotte a sense of familiarity.
"Is this presence... Badak?"
Charlotte pondered internally.
After so thought, she withdrew her Divine Power and exited the spiritual world of the Dark Night Ancient Castle.
As her consciousness returned to reality and her Spiritual Sense spread outward,
Charlotte quickly sensed the sa presence approaching in the real world.
Soon after, the guard at the door of the hall respectfully reported:
"Lord Lilith, Legion Commander Badak seeks an audience."
It really was Badak!
Charlotte confird in her mind.
Regardless, eting an acquaintance in this ti space was always sowhat reassuring.
"Let him in," said Charlotte.
The guard respectfully withdrew, and soon enough, Badak, clad in Elf Silver Armor, entered the room.
He approached Charlotte, bowed deeply, and said with respect and zeal:
"Legion Commander Badak... at your service, Savior!"
