Thinking back now, she concluded that her life in the past wasn't completely horrible and this was because she had these two amazing people by her side.
They were the ray of light she needed to keep on living and she is grateful she had them in this lifeti.
"Are you alright?" Alia waved at the lady whom she noticed was in a daze.
"Yeah," She replied and composed herself.
"As I was saying. He was always cheerful when we t up in the past but after knowing him for so many years I ca to the conclusion that maybe that side of him was just a pretence he puts up to make happy," She concluded in a ek tone.
"A pretence he puts on to make you happy?" Alia chuckled.
"Instead of that why don't you think in this direction...," Alia let her words linger in Joanna's ears.
"That maybe that side of him he showed you was the real him and that he could only be himself when he is around you," Alia twisted the words in a way that made Joanna confused.
"And why would you say that?" Joanna asked curiously.
Alia bent and dropped the glass on the table.
"That is because ever since I knew him I have never seen him smile or talk carefreely. An exception is when he is around you or talks about you," Alia explained in the simplest term that Joanna would understand.
"Ever since I beca the head of the laboratory two years after his father's death, he has visited my Lab at least once every month. And will you believe it if I say I have never seen him smile or talk carefreely?" Alia asked as she leaned back on the couch.
"Also, will you believe it if I tell you that he changed dramatically since the day he discovered that he is in love with you?" Alia questioned.
"Tell you are joking?" Joanna covered her mouth with her right palm.
She couldn't believe the revelation she heard even though it was coming out of Alia's mouth.
"In the past, he hardly talked. And the only ti he spoke is when he asked for the result of his examination. He always leaves after saying a word or two but he beca quite chatty after he fell in love...," Alia smiled when she recalled the nurous occasions Kayden took up her ti.
And the funniest thing is that all he talked about during this period was Joanna, Joanna and Joanna.
Her eardrums almost got impaired thanks to that na.
"Our relationship developed from that of a re doctor to that of a friend all thanks to you. So I believe I should be grateful to you for creating this miracle," Alia concluded.
The manner she joined her palms and bowed made Joanna burst out laughing.
"You are making blush by saying all these amazing words. What would you have do?" Joanna jokingly asked as she cupped her face.
"I would be very happy if you could love him half as much as he loved you. I wouldn't ask you to love him the sa way he loves you since that might be too much to ask," Alia said a bit more seriously.
As they talked they didn't realize that a man had marked them. To be precise it was Joanna whom he couldn't take his eyes off.
"You didn't have to ask that because everything you have just told has made fall head over heels for him all over again," She replied, beaming.
"You guys are so much alike in this aspect, I must admit," Alia gave her a thumbs up.
Alia waited for the excitent to die off before he resud talking again.
"And I wish I could tell you more about him and his personality but the truth is I can't," Alia admitted.
"The people who could have told you more about him would have been his parents but unfortunately he never grew up with his mother until he turned sixteen....," Alia trailed in a sad tone.
"The only one who would have been in the best position to tell you this would have been Mr Greyson but unfortunately he is dead...,"
"I don't necessarily have to know everything about him. In fact, I am happy with a few things you told about him," Joanna muttered. She smiled at Alia as a sign that she was fine.
"I am glad to hear that my story wasn't a complete waste," Alia smiled back at her.
Joanna has never imagined she would get along well with anyone in the Kingdom apart from Audrey but Alia proved her wrong.
Was this perhaps because both of the ladies' nas started with A which was the sa letter ANGEL began with?
Joanna and Alia talked at length. In a matter of hours, Joanna learned so much about Alia and a bit about her family.
"Alia, there is sothing I have been aning to ask you...," Joanna paused halfway to make sure she had grabbed Alia's full attention.
"And what is that?" Alia asked. From Joanna's serious expression, she didn't need to be a seer to know that what she wanted to know was a serious matter.
"I learned he lost control a few tis in the past. And I want to ask whether he is fine or not. Is there sothing I should avoid doing or look out for?" Joanna asked the question which was her reason for setting up this eting in the first place.
"I wished I could tell you that but it's against the rules to disclose our client's information to others," Alia replied without any hesitation.
"Actually, I don't want you to tell his condition in full detail but I just want to know if his condition is stable now," Joanna said. She stretched her hand to hold Alia's hand but Alia retracted her hand quickly.
