This was what Edith feared if she lied to Cliff. Now she had to act quickly to return to her residence before she was caught. However, before that, she had to call Patrick to look after Callum while she was away. Although Callum was recovering, she still needed soone to help her look after him. She was afraid that Callum’s ntal state would suddenly beco unstable again.
"Edith, you should go ho first. I’ll take care of you later."
Edith rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "Since you did that stupid thing yesterday, I won’t let you stay ho alone."
"This ti I won’t do it again. I promised you that before, too."
"Is it that hard for you to spend ti with Patrick for a while?"
"Actually, I’m really tired of talking to him almost every day."
"Even though you talk to every day."
"But I won’t get bored because you’re so special." Callum winked with his right eye.
Edith chuckled, gently pinching her lover’s cheek. "It turns out your overly clingy attitude every ti you have a fever hasn’t changed since then."
"Don’t worry, I’ve never been this clingy to Patrick."
At the sa ti, Patrick ran into the luxurious house and was imdiately greeted by a couple making out, making him start to feel jealous. He actually preferred this scene to the awkward scene before.
"You’re finally here, Patrick!" Edith greeted enthusiastically.
"You’d better go now, Edith. Don’t worry, if anything happens to your lover, I’ll definitely punish him."
Edith patted Patrick’s shoulder briefly. "Then I’m counting on you."
Suddenly, her lover’s hand pulled her, causing her to turn around spontaneously. Their lips accidentally touched, and their eyes widened.
"Don’t forget my sweet treat," Callum said casually.
Edith nodded, gently stroking her lover’s head. "I’ll be going now. Once I’m done with my business, I’ll be back."
Of course, Edith relied on her skillful driving skills to get back to her apartnt before Cliff caught her. It didn’t take long for Edith to arrive at her apartnt and imdiately asked Renata to take Erdin to the playground until her date with Cliff was over.
Luckily, Edith did all of this just in ti. After only ten minutes of waiting, Cliff finally arrived, carrying so paper bags. Edith began acting, using a fake smile for Cliff.
"Cliff, I’ve been waiting for you."
Cliff placed all the paper bags on the dining table and then walked quickly over to his fiancée. "Did I interrupt your mont with Eliana?"
"No. Eliana and I just finished playing. Actually, we were playing with snakes and ladders."
"Wow, that sounds interesting! But unfortunately I can’t play with snakes and ladders."
Eliana’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open. "Really? This ga is so easy."
"Actually, I’ve never played gas like this since I was little. My parents usually forced to learn. Even when I was little, I’ve been learning about business."
"Uncle, I’m hungry now! Can we talk later?" Eliana whined, pouting her lips.
Cliff smiled casually, stroking his unborn daughter’s tiny head. "Okay, actually, I’ve been really hungry for a while now."
Throughout their lunch with Cliff, Edith and Eliana felt incredibly awkward, as they usually ate with Callum on their days off. Edith rembered that she hadn’t seen Callum since the accident, and Cliff rarely saw him during his days off, but now he was eager to visit her. Was Cliff visiting her today with an ulterior motive?
"By the way, thank you for buying us delicious food," Edith said as she fed her daughter.
"It’s okay. I just happened to find this restaurant while I was visiting one of the venues."
"I’m sorry. I should have accompanied you earlier."
"It’s okay. The holidays are the perfect ti to spend ti with your child. Besides, I’ve already found the perfect vendor for our engagent party." Cliff handed his phone, showing a photo of a hall decorated with various types of artificial flowers in an outdoor setting.
Edith nodded as she looked at the venue, not really interested in it at all. She was actually more interested in the venue being the location for her and Callum’s engagent party.
"I really like outdoor venues. As expected, even without accompanying you, you’ve already picked a beautiful venue for our engagent party."
"Thank goodness, at first I thought you didn’t like outdoor venues because it’s been quite hot lately."
"Isn’t it more romantic if it’s set outdoors?"
Cliff snapped his fingers. "I agree."
"By the way, since we’ve already found a venue, how about we find suitable clothes to wear to the party?"
"Can’t you make clothes for us?"
Edith pursed her lips as she looked at her daughter. "Actually, I’ve been busy taking care of Eliana and completing all my VIP clients’ orders lately. If you asked to make a dress for myself and a suit for you, I’d be a little reluctant. Besides, wouldn’t buying from another boutique be better?"
Cliff groaned in annoyance as he placed his spoon and fork on the table, starting to scare Eliana. "Do you really think other boutiques’ quality will be better than yours?"
"Cliff, I actually wanted to make so clothes for us. But I couldn’t do it because I couldn’t afford it."
"I actually don’t understand what you’re thinking right now. When Callum asks for help, you imdiately comply. When I ask, you refuse to comply."
"Listen to first!"
"Could it be that you still love Callum? So now you’re forced to marry just because of the DNA test results!"
"Cliff, please don’t act like this! Don’t you think Eliana will be afraid of you?"
Cliff’s gaze sharpened for a mont on his gloomy-looking daughter-to-be. Now he tried to control his anger and be gentle with Edith.
"I’m sorry. It seems I’ve asked too much of you, Edith."
"I actually felt uncomfortable when you brought up Callum earlier! Have you forgotten how much I hate him now?"
"So, you were serious about what you said earlier? You won’t go back to Callum?"
