VALENCIA’S POV
"You are here," Alina said and I looked at the alpha who imdiately raised his face slightly, his gaze locking with mine, making blush imdiately.
"How are you feeling?" He asked and I nodded, feeling even hotter after Alina said those kinds of words.
It was almost as if I was exposed or sothing.
"I am good. You?" I asked, feeling awkward, and he raised his brows as if not expecting to act like this.
I sat in my seat and looked at Carl, who looked at my hand.
"Were those deep wounds?" He asked and Alpha looked at my hands, probably slling the scent of the disinfectant and healing ointnt now that Carl ntioned it.
However, he did not ask anything.
"He wants to take you on a date," Alina whispered into my ears, and though her words were barely audible, I knew Alpha Maverick could hear her pretty clearly because of his alpha hearing.
His hands paused over his plate and I gulped, quickly placing my hand over Alina’s mouth.
"Haha, Carl, what the hell? You can’t just call our eting a date just like that," I said to cover up Alina’s slip-up while Carl looked at confused.
However, just like always, rather than asking and putting in a tough spot, he played along with it.
"We are going to dine in a restaurant too. Isn’t that exactly what people do on dates?" Carl asked, and I sighed in relief while his gaze asked what I was thinking.
I signaled to him that I would tell him about it later and he humd.
"So you call the eting date now?" Alpha Maverick asked, and I imdiately felt caught.
This man was one person I always had such a hard ti dealing with.
The way he looks at as if he can dig into my deepest and darkest secrets without even trying leaves unsure of everything myself.
"By the way, I am planning on training with Alina today. Will you be available to watch over it? Just in case I don’t make a mistake. I want to learn a few tricks," I said but Carl scowled.
"That’s a pity. My schedule is full today," Carl said, and I looked down at my hands, not liking it.
This training was going to be another way for to keep myself distracted from things. I can’t even ask Alpha Maverick, knowing all too well he was going to the engagent party himself.
"Is that so? Never mind," I said.
"Do you want to stay?" Maverick asked, and I shook my head.
"You carry on with your schedule. I don’t want to interrupt it. I will figure out sothing," I said and he nodded, not forcing it.
I looked at Alina who looked at excitedly and couldn’t help but shake my head.
What was I thinking? I at least have her. I pulled her cheeks before urging her to eat more because we had a long day ahead.
If I was going to use this to distract myself, I was going to do it for a longer duration.
"Are you sure it’s okay? You just got that injury on your hand," Carl said and I humd.
"It’s okay. I have a bigger goal in mind. These wounds ate nothing comparatively. I have a beta to show her place, an alpha to put under my heels," I smirked and Carl realized what day I was talking about.
"No way you are thinking of it," He said, flabbergasted.
"I am thinking of exactly that day," I said.
"Dylan would never approve of it. Heck, the council head won’t approve either," Carl said and I shrugged.
"Last ti I checked, I don’t need any validation from anyone. What more would you guys do? Kill ? Be my guest," I said, knowing all too well this is just going to piss him even more.
"You!" Carl started but didn’t say anything and just sighed, making grin.
"I will be with you. Whatever it is, I will support you. If you need to train hard to beco stronger and learn so new tricks, I will teach them to you," Alpha Maverick said.
I looked at him, his expression telling he was serious this ti, not joking.
For a mont, I felt stuck. The way his eyes locked with mine as if he was trying to channel his feelings with .
My heart skipped a beat, and I looked down at my plate.
What was he doing? How can he look at with such raw emotions in front of everyone? That to be when he probably doesn’t like that much? Was it that easy for this alpha? I wondered before calming my thoughts, knowing all too well that Alina could hear my thoughts if she tried and I didn’t want her to listen to any of it.
"Thank you," I muttered under my breath.
After having breakfast, Alpha Maverick held my hand and pulled to the room just like the last night and I looked at him with furrowed brows, unsure of what he was planning.
"I have to go to the Hazel Moon pack tonight for Alpha Tyler’s engagent party. I won’t lie. It was my fault for thinking like that, but I actually wanted to take you there with as my partner," Maverick said, his words surprising .
Does he realize what he was saying? He was willing to take to a party where many other Alphas would be arriving too.
Does he not know what it would an? He was a man with no mate now and if he brought a random female to the party, it would only an he was serious about her and was trying to announce it to the world.
"What now?" I asked, genuinely curious.

Though I should be glad that he wasn’t thinking about doing it anymore, for so reason, the thought that he wasn’t serious about anymore made feel bad.
Was I flipping on my own emotions? Was I starting to like this man? What was going on?
"You don’t have to answer this question," I said, jerking his hand away so I could leave and save myself so face.
"Now I don’t really want to do it. I think it would be better if I could mark you before taking you anywhere public. I don’t want people to co to you and try to take you away from because you would be available to everyone just because no one marked you. Call selfish, Mitsuki, but every cell in my body wants to make you mine at the mont. I can’t promise an eternity to you but I can promise to love you till I am alive," Alpha Maverick said.
My body froze at the L word, and I looked into his eyes with wide eyes of my own.
"Shhhh, don’t speak anything. I am sorry. That’s what my heart told to say. Don’t take it seriously, please. I want to do it on a special day with a big surprise," Maverick placed his forehead on mine, closing his eyes as if he was panicking that he said that word accidentally.
I could not help but feel my heart warm at his actions.
"Mmm," I said, cupping his cheeks, forcing him to look at .
"I don’t want to go to the engagent either. That place is not for . There are answers to questions that you don’t know and I promise I will tell you everything with ti, but please give that ti," I said and he smiled.
"You have all the ti in the world," he whispered before placing his lips on mine.
I was about to open my mouth to deepen the kiss when soone knocked on the door and I cleared my throat, pushing him away, making him smile.
"Stupid girl," he whispered.
