"Wow, that’sh shtrong! It burnsh sho good!" Grinned Colt, swaying slightly as he slurred and let out a hiccup.

"Ugh, you’ve clearly had way too much to drink. Most people would’ve passed out or puked their guts out by now," Responded Lexia dryly, before taking a sip of a cocktail.

It was the 25th of April, 1919, and things had started to settle down over the last few days. Following the incident with Exalt, a number of the villages, towns and cities saw a brief uptick in cri, with criminals looking to take advantage of the chaos caused by Exalt.

The kidnapping incidents in Garnet City, which Ravella had dealt with a few days ago, was one such example. Fortunately, it was all just petty criminals at work, so the Knights were able to put a stop to the rise in cri before it could beco a more serious problem.

It was currently around 8 PM at night, and Colt and Lexia were having a round of drinks at a bar after finishing up their patrol shifts for the day.

"Hehe, I’ve got a shtrong toleransh, I can hold my boosh better than mosht. Plush, I like that nawshush feeling you get when you drink too mush, a-and hangoversh are great too!" He laughed in response, his face flushed.

"What feeling? Wait, were you trying to say ’nauseous’? I can barely understand you anymore...I, for one, hate getting too drunk. I prefer to just maintain a nice buzz without getting completely wasted," She huffed as she took another sip of her drink, before adding as she gave him a narrowed side glance, "You’re such a masochistic weirdo, you better not beco an alcoholic."

"Aw, co on, that wush a pretty ta inshult by your shtandardsh, you can do wayyy better than that! Alsho, I only do dish onsh in a while, I don’t wanna get addidcated-...addid-....a dick-...heh, dick. Wait, what wash I shaying...?" He trailed off with a perplexed look on his face.

"Addicted. Co to think of it, you do only drink this heavily on occasion, you usually just have a couple of drinks at most and-...never mind, you’ve clearly lost complete track of what we were talking about," Sighed Lexia as he looked at her in confusion, before adding, "Let’s just talk about sothing else, I guess. Like, uh...what do you think of ?"

"Hm?"

"C-crap, I just blurted that out on impulse! B-but, well...given how drunk he is, maybe I can get an honest answer out of him. Plus, maybe after he sobers up, he won’t rember asking this," Lexia thought to herself, as she nervously waited for his response.

"Let’sh shee...ohh, I know! If I had to pick the way I wanted to die, the best waysh I can think of are...getting my head crutcshed between your thighsh, getting shmothered to death by your boobsh, or-...," He slurred with a gleam in his eyes, before Lexia cut him off with a smack to the back of the head as she let out an indignant huff.

"That’s not what I ant! Ugh, why are you like this...? That didn’t answer my question at all," She grumbled with an annoyed look on her face.

"Shorry, I’ll ansher properly...I an, I like you a lot. You’re, like, my closhesht friend and I enjoy shpending ti with you a lot. Ohh, and ash a bonush, you’re shuper hot," He grinned with a thumbs up, letting out a hiccup as his eyelids fluttered slightly, the corners of his vision starting to blur.

Lexia averted her gaze as she felt her face heat up, a mix of embarrassnt and bashful joy welling up inside her, before she took a deep breath to compose herself and finished off her cocktail, gulping down the last bit and setting the glass down with a thud as she cald down.

"E-Even though he may not rember this, I-I should still play it cool. I-If I let him see get flustered and he rembers afterwards, he’ll never let live it down. Y-Yeah, I...I just need to relax and respond confidently," She thought to herself, before scooting over and leaning against his shoulder, giving him a playful nudge as she t his gaze with a smirk and responded, "Well, now, what an annoying coincidence this is. Why you just said, it perfectly describes the way I feel about you."

She then hesitated for a mont, before giving into her impulse and moving her head closer to his, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Despite her best efforts to maintain her composure, she found herself averting her gaze before she could stop herself, her face turning red as her chest began pounding.

She then gritted her teeth and shakily turned her gaze towards Colt while holding her breath, anxious to see his reaction as she gulped nervously.

As he entered her line of sight, she stared in bemusent as he let out an incoherent mutter before nodding off, his forehead thudding against the table as his eyelids fluttered shut.

Lexia blinked a couple of tis incredulously, right as he began snoring, his face flushed from the intoxication.

Lexia’s right eyebrow began to twitch as a sense of imnse indignation rose up inside her. While her words and actions had been directly influenced by the fact that she was fairly certain that Colt wouldn’t rember what she said or did, for him to pass out right after she mustered her courage made her feel more than a little slighted.

"Y-you...you can’t be fucking serious right now...," She muttered, before elbowing him in the ribs with a huff.

"Hurtsh...sho good...," Mumbled Colt, a slight smile appearing on his intoxicated face as a cold, murderous smile spread out across Lexia’s lips.

"Hi, there, would you like to order anything else-...?" Began a waitress as she walked over towards their table with a smile, before trailing off and flinching as she caught a glimpse of the murderous gleam in Lexia’s eyes, along with the glimr of the bone dagger she’d just extended out of her right hand.

"I’m gonna fucking kill you...," She uttered in a venomous whisper, glaring daggers at Colt’s peacefully oblivious sleeping face.

"U-Uh, miss, p-please don’t take out any weapons in the premises," Stuttered the waitress nervously, before whimpering and stumbling back as Lexia turned her seething gaze towards her.

"Hm? Oh...right, my mistake, I must not have been thinking clearly," Responded Lexia as she put the blade away.

"I-I appreciate your cooperation, miss. U-Um, would you like to order anything else?"

"No, I’m-...actually, on second thought, I think I could use another drink. Make it sothing strong."
