Capítulo 1847: Chapter 1865: Erging to the Surface (Part 7)
Huo Beijiang threw the towel he was holding onto the towel rack, finally reining in his fury. He walked over to Nan Fei, handed her the honey water he had prepared, insisting dominantly that she drink it.
Nan Fei had no choice but to steel herself and drink the honey water. In fact, she was extrely anxious inside. Those people who ca just now clearly had ill intentions! Although her vision wasn’t very clear, she had good hearing and there were at least a dozen people waiting outside!
They hadn’t left after going out earlier, obviously not giving up easily.
“Quickly, speak.” Nan Fei returned the cup to him, “I’m telling you, don’t think you can hide anything from in the future, otherwise…” She let out a huff, “otherwise don’t bla for being impolite. You know, you can’t stop , nor can you hide it from .”
Thinking about the little girl secretly running off to Kannaya, Huo Beijiang felt both scared, worried, and helpless. His young wife was truly bold, so bold that he was terrified every ti he thought about it.
“It’s nothing!” Huo Beijiang said casually, “People from the military are urging to go back and hand over the task.”
Nan Fei covered her mouth in shock, gasping, “So you?”
Huo Beijiang couldn’t help but laugh, his previously cold and distant deanor softened to show a touch of tenderness and amazent, “Just as you thought.”
“Huo Beijiang, you’re too bold.” Nan Fei couldn’t help but throw a pillow at him, “You’ve been back for two days and haven’t even clarified the mission handover until now. Do you know what mission you’re carrying out? Do you know its importance?”
“Of course I know!” He shrugged indifferently, “But no matter how important, you’re more important.” Since the mission was accomplished, he didn’t let down his uniform or his responsibilities and duties as a soldier.
As for the mission handover, what difference does a day early or late make?
Besides, he almost died several tis in Kannaya for the mission, and it was unforgivable if he was not by his wife’s side when sothing happened to her.
“Let those people wait slowly!”
The entire corridor was lined with people standing in two rows, even changing the atmosphere of the hospital. Relatives of patients passing by and hospital staff were watched so intently by soldiers on either side that they nearly forgot how to walk, their legs giving way as they walked past. In less than ten minutes, no one dared pass through the corridor. This floor had only high-end wards, large rooms, all suites, so relatively few rooms and not many occupants.
Everyone was terrified by the formation, all hiding in their rooms without coming out.
dical staff who were timid opted to take a detour rather than pass through this floor.
The leader was a man of lieutenant colonel rank, who walked lightly to Ning Di not far away, first saluting him before saying, “Ning Lieutenant Colonel, what should we do? So many senior officers from the military are waiting! If I can’t take Major General Huo back, all of us will be in trouble.”
Ning Di was also speechless, but what could he do? The boss could be willful, like a child. Besides, this ti the boss wasn’t being unreasonable, there was indeed a reason.
“You also know, our Major General only returned the night before last, and yesterday was the funeral of his good brother. After the funeral, he went to pay respects at Wei Qin’s grave and was so sad he nearly fell ill the entire afternoon. Now our sister-in-law is unwell, and I suppose the military already heard about the situation. Our sister-in-law was just brought to the hospital, feeling the most insecure now, so it’s impossible for Major General to just leave.”
