Back To The 90s: The Resilient Daughter-In-Law Chapter 1846 - 1864: Emerging to the Surface (Part 6)
"By the way! Where are Ke Wei and Xin Wu?" Nan Fei suddenly asked.
They were here before the expert consultation, yet in the blink of an eye, they disappeared.
"I sent them off when I got back." After all, he is a reasonable elder.
"Oh!"
"Wifey, when are we getting remarried?"
"Depends on my mood. Ever since we divorced, I haven’t planned on remarrying." To be honest, that’s what Nan Fei really thought back then. She was truly very angry at the ti. She went to Kannaya to find him full of anger, only to find herself yielding unexpectedly.
He managed to appease her rather casually.
Hmph! This ti, she won’t comply so easily.
"That’s not acceptable. If you don’t remarry , I’ll live a life worse than death." Huo Beijiang sneakily tugged on Nan Fei’s hair from behind, not hard, but with a playful undertone. Nan Fei responded quickly, reaching to grab him, but he dodged swiftly.
The two went back and forth several tis, each ending in Nan Fei’s defeat.
"No pulling my hair." Unable to catch him, Nan Fei feigned anger and warned.
"Then when will you agree to remarry ? There’s no ti like the present, let’s do it now." Huo Beijiang was eager, secretly regretting not going straight to her just now and wasting ti in the park.
"Get lost!" This guy really has a thick skin, "You want to remarry? Not a chance, dream on!"
This ti, Nan Fei was truly being difficult.
Huo Beijiang felt like crying, his handso face sulking as he coaxed softly, "Then, wifey, na your terms; as long as it’s within my power, I’ll agree. As long as you’ll agree to remarry , I’d even give my life." Without remarrying, he felt like a laid-off worker, uneasy every day they weren’t remarried!
Nan Fei was amused by his shalessness, "Go, go, go... don’t say such ominous things. Why would I want your life? If I took your life and remarried you, would I be preparing to beco a widow?"
"Go, go, go... What widow? I assure you, I’ll live to a ripe old age." Huo Beijiang’s deep eyes carried sincerity, and he couldn’t help but murmur, "When we grow old, I want to walk behind you so you won’t be sad."
Having experienced the loss of family and friends, he realized that the ones left behind suffer the most.
Nan Fei reached back, grasping his large hand, using her strength to comfort him.
Huo Beijiang noticed his hand held in her delicate palm and changed position to intertwine their fingers, bending over to give it a kiss, grinning, "My wife is the best. Since that’s the case, let’s go remarry tomorrow!"
Nan Fei: "..."
This topic changed too swiftly! How did everything relate to remarrying?
*****
However, the next day, Huo Beijiang didn’t even have ti to remarry. He wasn’t joking yesterday and had arranged with the civil affairs bureau for a special window to handle the matter first thing in the morning. But early the next morning, military personnel ca and took him straight from the hospital.
Before being taken away, Huo Beijiang was attentively washing Nan Fei’s face and hands.
"What’s going on?" Nan Fei frowned and asked.
Holding a towel, Huo Beijiang’s sharp eyes, like a hawk’s, glared outside, sending shivers down the spines of the soldiers standing at the door.
Clearly, the intrusion by strangers and the disturbance to Nan Fei made him exceptionally irate.
"Sorry, Major General Huo." The man in the lead turned pale and hastily stepped back, closing the ward door as he did so.
