"What did you want to talk to about yesterday?"
Vernon looked around. There was no one beside them.
"About our divorce." He said out of the blue, and Helena was shocked. She expected him to talk about rlin.
"What?" She asked again, doubting she had not heard properly.
"I wanted to talk about our divorce," Vernon repeated, taking a deep breath, hoping it would work.
"How many tis should I tell you? Never dream of divorcing ever again." Helena’s cold voice perated through the empty hall.
"Yes!!" Vernon cheered, finding his trick had succeeded.
Helena frowned, "What are you cheering for? Have you finally gone completely crazy?"
"No! I want to talk to you about sothing."
"About our divorce?" Helena glared.
"No. Sothing else."
"What is it?"
"Do you know today’s date?" Vernon asked. Helena did not understand what he ant.
But she still nodded and said a date ten years from now.
Vernon shook his head. "You are wrong. It is..." He slowly opened his lips to tell her today’s date.
Helena blinked her eyes first before looking at him like he had really gone crazy.
She opened her lips to scold him, but Vernon beat her to it, "I found your brother."
Helena froze. "What do you an?"
"Your brother. I an your cousin, whom your mother had been searching for all her life. We found him."
Helena shook her head. "No. You are lying. He... he is... he is dead."
"That was in your ti. According to the present ti, he is not." He understood that Helena did find rlin in his past life, but found that he was dead. Yet, she did not tell him about this.
He wondered when she found out about this and how she handled the news of her brother’s death all by herself.
"You an the date really is..." She did not finish her question, but understood and nodded. "Yes."
"You really found my brother when he was still alive?" She asked again.
He could see tears pooling in her eyes. She was very emotional.
Even though the Helena from the present was also happy to find that rlin was her brother, there was definitely a difference of heaven and earth between her reaction and this Helena’s.
While the young Helena was happy and excited, the older Helena was emotional. It was because for the older Helena, the brother she found was dead in her mories.
"Yes." Vernon nodded again and grabbed her hand, patting it to reassure her that it was all the truth.
Helena looked into his eyes and saw his resolute look. She imdiately hugged him and started to cry, "Waa~"
Vernon sighed, but he slowly patted her back and let her let out her heavy emotions.
"Young Madam is crying? What happened?" The servant ca and asked in concern.
Vernon looked at her and shook her head, "Nothing. You can go out for now."
She understood that they wanted so privacy and nodded before leaving.
"Young madam? Oh yes. I rember this is still in the past, right?" Helena stopped crying and left his embrace as she asked while wiping her tears off.
"How did you know about my brother in the first place?" She asked him.
"That’s a long story." Vernon did not want to dwell on that topic longer.
Helena nodded and asked another question, "So you are reborn?"
"Yes. Apparently."
"Then why and how did I co back to this ti as well?" She asked.
"I don’t really know all the details. I just found out last night that when I use the word divorce, it would trigger you to co to this ti period. I am guessing you hate our divorce so much that you beat even the ti and space to stop ." Vernon joked a little and chuckled. He actually started to think that it could really be the case.
Helena did not care about his jokes at the mont. She was busy grasping the important points from his words more.
She narrowed her eyes and looked at him, "So, you got a chance to revisit your past to change your life. And the first thing you wanted to do was to divorce ?"
Vernon was stunned by her question. Deep in her eyes, he could sense the hurt she was feeling regarding his decision.
But he braced himself and nodded, "Yes. Since you hate my family so much, I thought we shouldn’t be together."
Helena scoffed. "Heh. So, in your eyes, your family is so important that the love and bond we shared as a married couple for over a decade is dispensible?"
Vernon was stumped. "That’s not the case."
"That really is the case." Helena scoffed sadly.
"I loved you, Helena. But what did you do? You sched against and my entire family. Last ti, I even asked you why you hated my sister-in-law. You did not tell the reason. You even said you wanted to kill my nephew. What do you want to do? See you destroying my entire family, with my eyes closed? I can’t do that?" Vernon was emotional.
Helena’s eyes constricted. She suddenly seed to realize sothing.
"You wanted to change everything?"
"Yes."
"Then what you should be doing isn’t opting for our divorce," Helena stated.
"Then?"
"Do you still love ?" Helena asked.
Vernon sighed, "How could I not? I have loved you for over a decade. How could my feelings for you be lost just like that? If not for your unreasonable actions, would I even think of our divorce? If you have a way for us to go back to how we were before, then tell . I promise I will never bring up our divorce ever again." Vernon promised.
Yes, he still loved her.
She slapped his sister-in-law. But he still loved her.
She pushed his sweet little nephew into a pool. He still loved her.
She wanted to dethrone his brother from his position in his own company. He still loved her.
What could he do? He is a weak man with a soft heart.
But loving her does not an he would let her continue to do whatever she wished to his brother and his family.
If he had to separate from his wife to keep his brother’s family safe, even if it broke his heart, he would still do so.
But what did Helena say just now?
She said she had a way for everything to go back. She had a way for them to continue being loving without having to get a divorce.
If there really is such a chance, there would be no one more ecstatic than him.
"Then you have to save her. As long as you save her, our family wouldn’t have to suffer as much as we did in our lives." Helena said out of the blue.
"Save her? Save who?" Vernon did not understand whom she was talking about at all.
Suddenly, he saw Helena in a frenzied state as she grabbed his hand and pinched it, "Yes, save her. Vernon. We can save her this ti. If you save her, everything would be great. Maybe you were reborn just to save her. This is great. Save her. Save her. Save her."
She continued repeating the words ’save her’ multiple tis, like she had gone crazy.
Vernon had never seen Helena like this before.
"Okay. I will save her. But Hel, whom should I save? Babe, tell whom to save. I will definitely save her." Vernon tried to calm his wife, but there was no use.
There was a deep amount of madness swirling in her eyes. It was like she lost all control of her emotions.
"Who is she? Helena? Baby? Tell who she is." Vernon shook her hand to make her speak, but she suddenly went into a daze. She stopped speaking.
Looking at her dazed reaction, Vernon was scared.
(Did sothing happen to her?)
He shook both her shoulders, trying to wake her out of her daze, "Helena? Helena. Baby. Helena. Don’t scare . Talk to ."
"Huh?" Helena finally snapped out of her daze and looked at Vernon in confusion.
Vernon felt his life co back and sighed in relief.
"What did you want to talk to about?" Helena asked him softly.
"Huh?" Vernon was confused.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Helena looked at his pale face and was worried about him.
Vernon removed his hands from her shoulders and shook his head, "Nothing. I am fine."
Helena nodded in relief. "That’s good. You said you wanted to talk to last night. What was it?"
Vernon looked at her expression and knew this was the Helena of the present.
For a second, he had completely forgotten about dealing with two Helenas.
"Huh? Oh, that?" Vernon recalled what she was talking about and nodded.
He wanted to talk to the Helena of the past. Now that he was done, he should talk about rlin with her.
