Minister Morris nodded, "You are right. Looks like I did not think carefully this ti and took a misstep. Then you are right indeed. We should be thankful that the little girl did nothing too extre because of my actions."
Madam Morris nodded. "Yes. Looks like whatever you did did not harm her goal. That was why she went easy on us. Anyway, now that you understand, let’s go. It is not good for us to stay here for too long."
The couple left the room and started mingling with the guests once again like nothing had happened.
"Helena," Minister Morris called out when he saw her.
Helena looked at him in surprise. His expression seed completely different from earlier, and she wasn’t quite used to it.
"Minister Morris? Do you have sothing you need from ?" She asked him politely once she walked to him.
He shook his head. He beckoned her to a place with fewer people and whispered softly, "If nothing huge happened, let’s call it even?"
"..." Helena blinked her eyes in shock. Even though his words sound a bit weird, she could see that he was raising a white flag towards her. She did not expect this from him at all.
When she did what she did, all she hoped was for Professor Jones to give a good scolding to her husband, and he would stay away from her.
If he did not say a word right now, they wouldn’t even have to continue their ’fight’ anymore, and it would have been buried just like that.
She blinked her eyes for a few more seconds, and Minister Morris felt embarrassed.
"Ehem," He coughed to bring her back to her senses.
"What happened? Minister Morris, do you need so water?" Vernon ca out of nowhere and asked.
When he saw Helena and him together, he was worried that he was trying to bully her and imdiately ca to her ’rescue’.
Seeing his guarded expression, how could the smart Minister Morris and Helena not understand his intentions?
Minister Morris’s lips twitched, "Don’t worry, kid. I am not trying to harm your wife. What do you take for, huh? Am I a Godzilla or that green monster you kids see in the movies these days?"
"You an Hulk?" Vernon subconsciously asked. Once he asked, he covered his mouth in embarrassnt. Clearly, the older man wasn’t exactly expecting the na, right?
"I think that’s the na. Anyway, I don’t hurt kids for no reason."
Helena chuckled at the conversation between these two n.
For so reason, she understood why people always say that n never change with age.
She suddenly realized that, despite his position and weird revenge techniques, Minister Morris is quite childish for his age.
When the n heard her laugh, they imdiately looked at her in unison.
"Ehem. Minister Morris," Helena cleared her throat and was about to reply to his earlier words.
But before she could speak, she felt a pair of hands covering her eyes.
"Who is it?" She was stunned and grabbed the hands and felt them around while asking.
"Guess." A nice voice rang beside her ears.
A male voice.
But she did not feel creepy by this closeness at all. She instantly understood who it was and smiled.
Minister Morris looked at the man in shock while Vernon observed him as well.
The man winked at Vernon and waited for Helena’s reply with a mischievous smile.
Vernon realized who the man was and smiled back.
Minister Morris subconsciously turned to look at Vernon. He wondered how he might misunderstand his wife because of the close proximity to a strange man.
But Vernon did not have any strange expressions at all. He was just casually smiling as a form of greeting the man.
"You ca?" Helena asked with a smile.
"Did you doubt ? Anyway, did you really guess who I am?" The man asked again, not sure if he could remove his hands from her eyes or not.
"Of course I guessed. Mister Senior." Helena smiled and gave him the ’answer’.
"Ha ha ha." rlin laughed at her naughty answer and removed his hands. "I thought you wouldn’t recognize . Glad you still rember ."
"Of course I do. Glad that you ca. I was worried you wouldn’t." Helena smiled as she looked at him.
rlin smiled back, "I promised to co, didn’t I?"
Helena smiled cutely and nodded, "Mmm."
"Mister Senior?" Vernon asked, interrupting their conversation.
Helena looked at him and nodded, "Yes. Ha ha." rlin laughed along while shaking his head. He couldn’t believe she was still stuck with those words.
He just said that his parents were seniors to her mother and they would take care of her. Now she sohow managed to turn it into a joke.
Helena did not want to explain too much about the matter. After all, it involved her mother.
She just pulled Vernon to her side, "Let introduce you both to each other. He is my husband, Vernon."
"Hello. Nice eting you. I am rlin." rlin greeted him seriously while giving his hand to shake.
Vernon greeted him back, "Nice eting you. Vernon."
rlin then turned towards Helena and extended his hand, "Nice eting you as well. I am rlin."
Helena understood what he ant. They talked to each other last ti, but they had never officially greeted each other. They did not know their nas ’officially’.
She chuckled and gave him her hand to shake, "Nice eting you, Mister rlin. I am Helena."
rlin smiled, "Helena. Pretty na. Suits you."
Helena smiled, "Thank you. My mother nad ."
rlin nodded.
"Oh yeah. This is Minister Morris. Minister Morris, this is rlin," Helena realized that Minister Morris was still by their side and introduced them to each other nicely.
"Nice to et you."
"Nice to et you."
Both n greeted each other with a handshake as well. But it was formal compared to how rlin greeted Helena or Vernon.
"I think I had seen you before," Minister Morris looked at rlin and said.
