Tian Xiang and ng Cheng’an together helped Hu Honglian and Tian Weibing into the small sedan in the back.
As the car started, Hu Honglian, looking at her daughter waving outside, couldn’t help but burst into tears.
Tian Weibing softly consoled her, "On such a happy day, why are you doing this? If Xiangxiang sees, she’ll be upset too."
Hu Honglian quickly took out a handkerchief to dab her eyes. As she turned to look at her daughter, she saw her still standing by the roadside, with ng Cheng’an holding her shoulders, obviously comforting her.
Ah well, children eventually co to this day. As long as the son-in-law treats her well, it just ans there’s one more person to cherish her.
Later, Tian Xiang and ng Cheng’an also quickly got into a car.
Tian Xiang felt a bit uncomfortable at first, but soon she was fine.
ng Cheng’an held her hand and said, "I’ll co back with you during holidays from now on."
"Okay."
The car soon arrived at the Military and Political Institute.
The house here had also been specially decorated with red festive characters, and so new furniture. ng Cheng’an and her room had been turned into a deep red the, even the wardrobe was replaced with a red one.
The dowry had been sent over earlier, with trunks and small accompanying items placed in the couple’s new room.
Tian Xiang took a quick look. Wei Xiaoman ca over, bringing them so honey water to help sober up.
"Thank you."
Wei Xiaoman smiled and, seeing the room filled with items, politely offered, "Need help with anything?"
Tian Xiang: "No need."
Wei Xiaoman: "No rush either. You’ve just had so drinks. Rest first and sort things out later."
After saying that, Wei Xiaoman left.
Tian Xiang closed the door, thinking of changing her clothes first, but saw ng Cheng’an sitting on the bed at so point, staring at her intently.
Tian Xiang pointed to the honey water on the table, "Drink it now."
ng Cheng’an really was drunk as he pouted at Tian Xiang, "Feed ."
Tian Xiang: "..."
After thinking for a mont, she decided to indulge him this ti.
With a flushed face and dreamy eyes, he was indeed very handso.
Tian Xiang handed him the honey water, but ng Cheng’an tilted his head back, opening his mouth.
Tian Xiang leaned in to feed him, but ng Cheng’an drank while keeping his eyes fixated on her instead of the cup.
Now that they were married, his gaze beca bolder.
Tian Xiang flicked his forehead lightly, "Behave. No wild thoughts."
ng Cheng’an rubbed his forehead, collapsing back onto the bed, and closed his eyes.
Tian Xiang glanced at him a few tis, figuring he might really be quite drunk, she didn’t mind him, drank her own honey water, then took out a set of clothes to change into by the wardrobe.
The new room was quite large, but lacked private space. Everything had to be done here.
Though they’d been close before, changing clothes in front of each other like this definitely hadn’t happened.
Tian Xiang felt a bit shy, eyeing the person on the bed as she changed. Seeing ng Cheng’an was still and silent, she finally took off her outer garnt and began to undo the buttons on her cheongsam.
Just then, the person lying on the bed rolled over and sat up, preemptively saying, "I’ll help you," so as not to scare his wife.
Tian Xiang: "Lie back down." Help with what?
ng Cheng’an ignored her, moving directly to assist Tian Xiang with her buttons.
Tian Xiang rolled her eyes at him, "In broad daylight, don’t ss around." It was already almost four o’clock, and they needed to tidy up before going out for dinner.
ng Cheng’an: "I know."
He wasn’t ssing around, but a little intimacy was acceptable.
Before long, both of them ended up on the bed.
Tian Xiang suspected he was mostly pretending to be drunk earlier.
That night, Wei Xiaoman cooked dinner, with five dishes and a soup, which tasted great.
The whole family gathered this ti, including ng Shaoqing. The old man was very happy and told Tian Xiang this was now her ho too. She should feel free and not hold back.
However, tomorrow morning, ng Shaoqing and ng Zhi had to leave first, one for work and the other to help prepare for the wedding banquet on the other side.
The old man and ng Xiuyuan’s family of three would stay here, and would leave together after Tian Xiang’s return visit.
After dinner, Tian Xiang left the table.
The new bride on her first day in the family didn’t need to do any chores, she could take care of herself.
She first washed up and then returned to the room to start organizing things.
In the afternoon, she’d been busy being affectionate with ng Cheng’an, so the clothes hadn’t been put into the wardrobe.
As she stored things, she also checked out ng Cheng’an’s belongings, which were just a few sets of clothes.
Well, the two of them would mostly live in Beijing anyways, and this was just temporary.
While busy, ng Cheng’an ca in, carrying a small box in his hands.
"What is it?"
"The gift money we received today, along with the gifts from everyone."
Hearing about the gift money, Tian Xiang paused what she was doing to count the money first.
There were many guests, and they collected a lot. Looking at the pile of cash in the box, Tian Xiang felt delighted, then opened the gift list to take a look.
Those who gave larger amounts were primarily relatives, whereas the attending officials went with the flow, neither giving too much nor too little.
It made sense after all, giving too much might have made the old man suspect ulterior motives or question their intentions.
Tian Xiang: "Does this belong to us?"
"Yes."
"Then I’ll deposit it tomorrow."
"Sure."
Seeing him so agreeable, Tian Xiang smiled and asked, "Have you showered?"
ng Cheng’an: "..."
"I’ll do it now."
Tian Xiang softly added, "Make sure you’re thorough."
ng Cheng’an: "..."
That night, Tian Xiang rely put her clothes in the wardrobe before turning off the lights and heading to bed.
Both were inexperienced, having to figure things out as they went.
Over ti, with practice, it would beco more familiar.
In the middle of the night, ng Cheng’an turned on the bedside lamp, intending to get hot water. He then decided to bring in the thermos directly, later bringing in a basin and towels as well.
The next day, Tian Xiang woke up late, only coming out of the room when it was almost ti to eat.
ng Cheng’an had gotten up early, even went out to buy breakfast.
This morning, only the couple and the old man were having breakfast together. ng Shaoqing and ng Zhi’s sisters had a flight at seven, so they left early.
ng Xiuyuan’s family of three went to see a famous sunrise spot nearby, leaving at dawn.
From a full table last night, it was down to just the three of them today. The old man sighed and told the two after breakfast that he had arranged to go fishing with a war buddy, returning in the evening.
Soon, the house was left to the newlyweds.
After tidying up the dishes, ng Cheng’an ca out and asked her, "Do you want to go out?"
Tian Xiang lazily leaned on the sofa, "Better not. Didn’t sleep well last night, still feeling dizzy."
In fact, Tian Xiang wanted to go back to Sanli Lane, but hadn’t reached the appropriate return date. Going back now would have her mother scolding her.
Upon hearing that she felt dizzy, ng Cheng’an quickly checked her forehead and, ensuring there was nothing wrong, gently asked, "Are you uncomfortable anywhere else?"
Tian Xiang rolled her eyes at him, "Just as I said."
ng Cheng’an smiled, "Go lie down in the room. We’ll go out for lunch."
Tian Xiang: "What about you?"
"I’ll keep you company."
