The next couple of days until the third day after the wedding, Tian Xiang and ng Cheng’an just ate and slept, not going anywhere.
anwhile, ng Xiuyuan’s family of three were constantly out having fun, and didn’t co back during this ti.
The old man went out every day, leaving early and returning late, to ensure the young couple had sweet newlywed monts.
On the day of the family visit, Tian Xiang and ng Cheng’an set off after breakfast.
They prepared quite a lot of gifts for the visit, and the old man arranged a car to send them.
At the Tian Family in Sanli Lane, Hu Honglian got up early to go to the market to buy groceries. On the way, she ran into acquaintances, who all asked if Xiangxiang was visiting today?
Of course.
Actually, they all knew; they just wanted an excuse to greet Hu Honglian.
People just can’t help but wish for others to not do well, and the more they do, the more proud they are.
Look, she’s already married. The grandeur in the past couple of days was truly magnificent and lively, the whole of Sanli Lane saw it and was enviously restless.
This Tian Xiang, rising to greatness, belongs to a different social class now.
On her way from the market ho, Hu Honglian was t with praises all along, feeling very proud, and inadvertently humd a tune.
Today, when Tian Xiang visited, Xu Jiafeng was also there. After attending the wedding banquet last ti, she hadn’t gone ho, choosing to stay longer to see her granddaughter and grandson-in-law before going ho with peace of mind.
Tian Xiang and ng Cheng’an arrived just after nine in the morning.
The driver parked the car outside and helped carry so things in.
They brought two big bags, mostly food, including various fruits, nutritional supplents, and things like cigarettes and alcohol.
The old man wasn’t there today, so the neighbors didn’t hold back and ca out to watch the festivities and say hello.
Whenever soone approached, ng Cheng’an handed them a cigarette which Tian Xiang had given him earlier.
His wife told him, now that he has a family, he’s not a child anymore, but an adult. He needs to manage necessary interpersonal relationships well and gradually integrate so worldly things into his life.
The recipients of the cigarettes were overwheld with surprise.
This is the cigarette given by the grandson of a high leader, so indirectly, it’s as if given by the leader himself!
Such a cigarette can’t be smoked casually; it should be smoked in front of friends and family so they can boast a bit.
For lunch, Hu Honglian prepared chicken soup, cooked ribs and fish, along with four or five various vegetables.
She always rembered her son-in-law doesn’t like at, preferring vegetables.
It’s rare for the whole family to be together today, so Tian Weibing also brought out alcohol, wanting to share drinks with his son-in-law and two sons.
A little drinking is fine, but no getting drunk.
Okay, okay, understood.
The n went outside and started drinking.
In the room inside, Hu Honglian pulled her daughter aside to ask how these few days have been over there.
Tian Xiang: "At ho it’s just us two and grandpa; his dad’s family of three went out to play and haven’t been back."
Hu Honglian: "Aunt Wei, who is with Cheng’an, has quite a good eye and is a smart person."
Wei Xiaoman is definitely smart; otherwise, she wouldn’t have married ng Xiuyuan.
Hu Honglian intended to ask her daughter about matters between the couple, but seeing her daughter’s rosy complexion, she refrained, thinking everything must be going well.
They stayed until after four o’clock before riding their bicycles to head ho.
The Tian Family saw them off, agreeing on tomorrow’s travel ti, with arrangents for a car from the ng Family to pick them up and go to the airport, where they would catch a flight to Beijing for the banquet there.
Relatives won’t attend the banquet in Beijing, but a few mbers from the Tian Family definitely will.
Tian Xiang initially wanted to invite her grandmother along so she could spend a couple of days in Beijing, but Xu Jiafeng declined, saying she didn’t want to inconvenience them, especially with her busy schedule, promising to consider it again when there’s a chance.
Additionally, she experiences motion sickness and doesn’t enjoy the hassle of traveling.
On their way ho, the couple had no luggage, so they rode bicycles without needing a driver pick-up.
As they passed the riverbank, Tian Xiang said, "Let’s walk down there for a bit."
"Okay."
The couple descended the steps and headed toward the bridge.
Watching people washing work gloves across the river, Tian Xiang felt nostalgic, suddenly recalling the days she worked in the factory, feeling full of passion!
ng Cheng’an asked, "What are you thinking about?"
Tian Xiang shook her head, "Oh, nothing much. Rembering the early days of working, constantly running around. At the ti, Zhuang Eri was washing gloves across the river, and I often went over to find her."
Zhuang Eri’s child is already two years old now.
Tian Xiang was speaking when suddenly she pointed to the water of the river, "Look there, is that a bicycle wheel?"
Last winter was a drought, and the water level dropped quite a bit, revealing things not usually seen.
ng Cheng’an paused, then laughed, "Yes!"
That bicycle wheel was actually thrown down by him back then.
Tian Xiang wondered out loud, "How could there be a bicycle wheel down there? Perhaps soone fell down at the ti."
Casually chatting, Tian Xiang ntioned.
ng Cheng’an asked, "Do you rember Lu Weihua?"
Tian Xiang certainly does, quite disgustingly.
Though the matter from two plus years ago had passed, recollection still makes her uncomfortable.
In the disaster relief, although he had such intentions, he ultimately shifted the main issue onto Tian Chuying, escaping responsibility.
Seeing his wife’s expression look bad, ng Cheng’an continued, "I’ve heard he’s beco disabled."
"Disabled?"
Tian Xiang was surprised, "When did that happen?"
After that incident, she hadn’t heard much about the person.
ng Cheng’an: "Last year I guess, he got involved with a married woman, caught by her husband, and kicked in a place one shouldn’t be kicked, becoming a cripple. This matter is too private; many don’t know about it." But he knew.
What does it an to be kicked where one shouldn’t?
It took Tian Xiang a mont to grasp the aning in ng Cheng’an’s words, bursting into laughter, "Serves him right."
ng Cheng’an: "Indeed."
The couple arrived at the head of the bridge and got back on their bicycles.
Returning ho, the old man was there, along with ng Xiuyuan’s family who had returned.
In the evening after dinner, Tian Xiang went back to the room to wash up and started sorting and organizing things.
Tomorrow they’ll fly away, needing to properly manage what to bring and what to leave.
As they had to wake up early the next day, ng Cheng’an didn’t bother her, and the couple snuggled into a good sleep.
After breakfast the next day, the old man’s guard ca over.
With too much luggage making flying inconvenient, the large luggage pieces were sent separately by car with the guards.
Their flight was just after ten in the morning; after handling these matters, they were almost ready to head to the airport.
anwhile, over in Sanli Lane, the Tian Family also got in the car, setting off at around the sa ti, intending to et at the airport.
The plane tickets for everyone were arranged and purchased by people under the old man’s orders, as flying in the current situation is sowhat difficult for ordinary people to manage.
This was Tian Xiang’s first ti flying; she was initially excited, but by the ti she got off the plane, she felt drained.
The noise was too loud and particularly uncomfortable, and during turbulence, she almost lost her soul from fear.
Other than the experienced old man and ng Xiuyuan’s family, no one else looked well.
The old man said to Tian Weibing, "The first ti is always like this; it’ll get better with more flights."
Tian Weibing shook his head.
Forget it, in the future, let’s just take the train.
