Chapter 176: Chapter 162: Hitching a Ride_2

Over the next five days, Chu Mingcheng fished tirelessly day and night.

Due to the poor water conditions recently, the seawater was rather murky, fishing wasn’t a problem, but spearfishing was out of the question.

He dived once and the visibility was only five ters, making it almost impossible to locate fish.

The inco during these five days was also inconsistent. Even with a few stable fishing spots, the inco was sotis just a few thousand yuan after costs, while at other tis it reached ten or twenty thousand.

Indeed, as Jiang Luoluo had said, after an initial surge, the inco began to diminish progressively.

It was clearly impossible and abnormal to expect a catch worth about fifty thousand each ti.

Currently, Chu Mingcheng’s savings had reached three hundred and ten thousand, an undeniably high inco.

By next year’s fishing ban, his savings might be enough to buy a boat, and even if it wasn’t, he could consider going abroad to explore other options.

As for the sea creatures guidebook, his current experience points had reached fifty-two, only eight species away from the next upgrade, which made him even more eager for the second ability.

After selling the fish and returning ho, his new spear finally arrived.

But he didn’t have ti to look at it as Jiang Luoluo had a photo shoot at the beach in the afternoon, and he had hurried back specially to pick her up, planning to take her to the small sandy beach on that isolated island.

However, his boat couldn’t land directly on the sandy beach, and clambering over the rocks with a group of people carrying equipnt was problematic.

So he had specially spent two thousand yuan on an inflatable dinghy for the purpose of landing on the island.

The inflatable dinghy was very convenient to use. When needed, they would inflate it, put it in the water, and attach a small propeller to it.

When not in use, they would deflate it and store it in the cockpit, where it wouldn’t take up much space.

After lunch, Chu Mingcheng drove Jiang Luoluo to the dock and sat in the boat waiting for Zhang Ruoi and the others.

It was only then that he had the ti to unwrap and examine his new fishing spear.

The wooden spear not imrsed in water was quite heavy, even heavier than a carbon spear, but in the water, its buoyancy made it feel lighter.

Upon opening, Chu Mingcheng noted that the speargun did indeed have a flatter design, just as he had learned.

This was a 1.2 ter range speargun, he assembled it, checking all the parts, and found no issues for now.

The rubber band was thick, one more strand than on a carbon spear.

Yet with just this extra strand, should he encounter the Dragon Gizzard Grouper again, the spear wouldn’t necessarily pierce through easily, but it could certainly kill the prey in one shot.

Jiang Luoluo squatted by his side watching, and seeing him assembling the spear with great interest, she said, “Ah Cheng, after the shoot today, I’ll take a two-day break. Why don’t we rent a boat and go to the Far Sea?”

“You want to co with to the sea?” Chu Mingcheng responded with a touch of joy.

He had indeed felt a bit bored going to sea alone all this ti.

But Jiang Luoluo had been busy with her dance practice, and he truly didn’t want to disturb her.

Now that the spear had arrived, he really did have plans to make a trip to the Far Sea, and he had not expected her to be willing to join him.

“Of course!” Jiang Luoluo affird.

In their ti together, both were actually adapting to each other, changing so of their habitual ways and making concessions in terms of ti.

Chu Mingcheng coming back every evening to spend ti with her was a way of accommodating her schedule.

And when she had ti, she was naturally willing to forgo activities like shopping, which she might do occasionally when resting, to choose accompanying him to sea.

“Alright, I’ll ask Grandpa and see if he’s up for a Far Sea fishing trip.”

Renting a boat for a solo trip to the Far Sea could cost several thousand, if he could get Wei Jiaguo to agree to land him a big catch, he would probably accept gladly.

Jiang Luoluo blinked, suddenly understanding Chu Mingcheng’s plan, and couldn’t help but cover her mouth and snicker.

An old man who liked to show off, eting a young one skilled at hunting, was indeed easy to manipulate.

anwhile, Wei Jiaguo was staring blankly at his aquarium where a Rat Spot had just turned belly up.

He hadn’t expected it to die in less than half a month, and he still had many friends who hadn’t visited Xia City!

Just then, the ringtone of the smartphone suddenly sounded; he picked it up and saw that it was a call from Chu Mingcheng, his eyes imdiately lighting up.

“Ah Cheng, got any good stuff?”

“Uh… haven’t co across anything special recently,” Chu Mingcheng hadn’t expected Wei Jiaguo to open with that, and felt even more confident about freeloading on the boat trip.

There was silence on the other end, clearly waiting for what he had to say next.

“Grandpa, it’s like this, I just got a wooden spear gun, mainly for hunting big fish. Like large Bluefin Tuna or large Marlin…”

As he spoke about these two types of fish, he deliberately drew out the words.

On the other end, Wei Jiaguo’s brows raised slightly at the ntion of these fish, and after a brief mont of contemplation, he understood Chu Mingcheng’s intent and a smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

But at his age, he could easily discern the other’s attempts to pique his interest, so he remained silent, refusing to speak.

Seeing that Wei Jiaguo remained quiet, yet the call was still connected, Chu Mingcheng’s face showed a hint of embarrassnt.

It seems that older folks are quite shrewd—my little trick was seen through right away!

Since that was the case, he could only be straightforward now, “Grandpa, Luoluo and I would like to hitch a ride on your boat for so Blue Water Fishing in the Far Sea. How about I get you a hundred-pound Golden Spearfish or a hundred-pound Flagfish in return?”

Wei Jiaguo, finally hearing the explicit request, responded, but he teased him, “What if there’s only a hundred-pound Bluefin Tuna?”

“Hiss,” Chu Mingcheng sucked in a breath of air; the Golden Spearfish he spoke of naturally excluded Bluefin.

After all, even if a normal Golden Spearfish weighed a hundred pounds, its actual worth would only be around six or seven thousand yuan, giving one away wouldn’t be too painful for him.

But giving away a Bluefin for free would indeed hurt a bit.

Still, he didn’t hesitate and imdiately said, “At that ti, Grandpa, you can pick whatever you like, as long as we find a school of fish, I guarantee a full return.”

He had used his life conversion ability five tis in the last five days, with seven more to go.

Endurance wasn’t the issue, the problem would be if they couldn’t find fish!

Hearing him agree without hesitation, although Wei Jiaguo himself wouldn’t take advantage of a junior, he was still quite happy inside.

If Chu Mingcheng had shown any reluctance or hesitation, he would’ve seriously reconsidered his attitude towards him.

A man who didn’t value relationships, only focusing on the imdiate, petty benefits in front of him, was dood to not go far.

Clearly, Chu Mingcheng’s vision, in his opinion, was quite decent.

After arranging to et at the dock at nine o’clock the next morning, Chu Mingcheng hung up the phone and turned to Jiang Luoluo, asking, “Luoluo, if we’re going out to sea tomorrow, we’ll probably spend two nights in the Far Sea and co back on the third day. Will it affect the release of your next video?”

Jiang Luoluo waved her hand indifferently, “No worries, it’s just three days. Sotis, I get lazy and cancel so comrcial performances or event invitations to rest for four or five days in a row.”

Since she had ti, the upcoming sea outing was not a problem.

Later on, at one o’clock in the afternoon, Zhang Ruoi and her party finally arrived.
