[Took Akkido's suggestion and turned the previous chapter into an Epilogue of about 800 words with a finishing hook for book 2. I've separated the remaining 500 words and transitioned it into the first chapter while I get my groove back into writing!]

Yin Hu stared at the system ssage for so ti. Rereading it. Then rereading it again as though it could possibly give him more information. This function had never existed before during the ti he was on the island.

The possibilities he could have gone through one by one. The potential of becoming a superhuman officially rather than it being locked away by the broken system. A way around it. Yet, he had no access to it for himself. For others, it was quick with the option. Or maybe that was the system he was currently carrying, he had just not known any better?

Help others to help yourself? Yin Hu shook his head, all his rewards had been for doing things by his own struggles. Blessed as he was for the perfect setting for exactly that. It would not have been a pretty thing if he required others to gain rewards.

Yin Hu returned his attention back to the system ssage.

I’m wasting ti. Let's see if I can get it to react at all, or is it broken like usual?

Spiritual Root Mutations Available!

Do you wish to apply the Mutations now?

19 days to the duration of unconsciousness!

Mutations could an good or bad. Unless he could figure out how to get the system to give him so more information, he could not possibly risk anything like that. It would be ludicrous to try sothing so insane. They could lose any and all potential they carried if it gave them the wrong mutation.

Turning Jun into a tree or dusa was not part of his turning them into nukes plan. He would not be able to forgive himself if he ssed up that badly. Especially now that he really cared about the girls. Almost like a parent, except he was way too young for that.

He was about two decades old… at least when he was isekai-ed to the island. Assuming the island stopped aging sohow.

Yin Hu shook his head. Clearing his thoughts of what happened in his isolation and what he went through. Things were better now. It was pointless to continue to harp and reminisce on the past hardships when the future was much brighter.

As long as he didn’t turn Shui into a turtle demon by mistake with this new mutation function. It could quickly beco a curse if he was not careful. More likely if he was asked. The elite and most powerful abilities were the rarest and among the smallest percentage. It was unlikely for them to appear out of nowhere on the first try.

He doubted he had that type of luck anyways.

Yin Hu began the process. The sa exact one he had tried when he first received the system. Except this ti, he got the exact opposite reaction. Working on his first try.

“Mutation Options?”

Thank you for accepting the Mutation option!

“Wait! Stop!” Yin Hu shouted.

Unconsciousness paraters starting in:

“No! No, no, no!”

Yin Hu’s heart dropped. Everything was about to turn wrong. He failed the girls—

Error… System unable to proactively start Mutations due to system failures…

Recalibrating…

Er..Oooorrror… Errororrr…

He let out a sigh he had been holding. Thankful for the first ti, ever since he first received the system, for how unreliable it was. It had saved him. Yin Hu could imagine the headache that would have been an unintentional start to the mutations.

A shiver went down his spine. Imagining either one turning into a chira by mistake.

Yin Hu took a couple breaths and began to read over the ssage a few tis. Making sure he was not locked into the decision once he pulled out natural resources that he had in his rice bag. The system gave him vague answers but otherwise confird that he could accept or reject the option once given it.

Ideas began to appear in his head. Most of which he could figure out right here in this tent.

Yin Hu hoped he could find sothing about mutations in the Compendium. It had almost everything he had needed up until this point without fail. Even then, he could only hope. Maybe he would get lucky and find another version of the Compendium or a volu between the rest about mutations and the resources he could use in his bags.

Though he was quite doubtful about it considering the system’s existence wasn’t ntioned once in it.

I’m probably going to be in here the entire ti. Can’t waste any of the clock when I could be experinting with all the resources in my bag. Though I’m not sure what else I have other than the many spiritual herbs in there. All with pretty impressive nas.

He decided to leave the girls for now. Heading straight to Zhong Da’s and his wife’s pavilion. Shouting for them until they finally stepped out. The man was pale. Eyes flitting back and forth as though he had seen a ghost.

A strange reaction, Yin Hu noted.

He would have to ask him about it much later. Were they being chased? If so, by who?

“Sorry to bother you, but I’ve co to a recent discovery. I will be unavailable for roughly three days at the worst. Do not panic, it is nothing dangerous. Just will be too busy inside my pavilion to be around in the camp and speak to you.”

“Is it anything we did?” Zhong Da asked.

“No. You’ve been nothing but pleasant company. Just busy with certain things. It’ll pass in no ti.”

Zhong Da nodded.

Their conversation continued for a few monts longer, but otherwise ended quickly. Yin Hu hurried back to the girls. Intent on not wasting a single mont when he could be making his nukes, even bigger, stronger, better nukes. Maybe even give them ridiculous ntal and self-esteem boosts as well.

Yin Hu hoped that was not out of the realm of possibility.

Both of the girls needed it. Yes, they were developing, but it was happening very slowly and kept getting set back. It was not the ideal situation. If he could find a perfect roundabout way to give them the ntal fortitude and confidence to be themselves and face anyone, then why wouldn’t he.

He planned to take advantage of all his cheats. Primarily how rich he was cheat.

There was no one to judge him for it. Not that he would care much for other people's opinions on the matter. Nukes will be had. Whether anyone liked it or not. His peace and safety were paramount. Building a sect or clan to do just that for him was exactly what he wanted to do.

No one would stop him.
