“Thank you for your kind words, Senior!” Zhong Da said as he bead a gigantic smile that spread across his face. Eyes closed and aning every word that he uttered in front of Yin Hu. Not a single lie in his bones.

Yin Hu laughed. He had not expected this. Who would when the person in front of him had appeared from the forest line. Without any warning or indication he had been out there. Appearing like a ghost or a horror movie villain with plans to execute them.

He had actually regretted letting the two of them stay for so ti. Until he got to know them. Yin Hu was now thankful and quite proud of himself for not caving into the fear and letting them camp with him as he waited for the two girls to wake up.

It hadn’t been long since they fell asleep. There was still much ti left before they finally woke up.

“I’ll be with my wife, Senior. Please excuse .” Zhong Da said as he walked away.

Really can’t judge a book by its cover.

Yin Hu learned quickly that Zhong Da was unrealistically positive about everything. Optimistic was to light of a word. Always looking at the bright side and refusing to even be slowed down by anything negative. A good characteristic.

Yet, better than even that was he had a firm understanding of seniority. He was quick to find his place. Fitting into a role and enjoying every mont of it. Doing anything Yin Hu asked of him whenever he did ask. Not once did he even as much as hesitate. Running to get tasks done.

Maybe too much.

He caught the man trying to brew the tea Yin Hu had placed next to the campfire. Distracted for a second and disaster almost struck. Yin Hu would have, without a shadow of doubt in his mind, kicked the pair out into the wilderness.

Yin Hu was done playing with his tea and food. How many tis did he need to suffer before he eventually figured that his palate was ruined forever. How many more disappointnts? How many more horrific bites into disgusting treats and food? Drinking slop that soone had the audacity to call tea.

The Cai Xuefang incident would be the last ti he tolerated such an insult.

Now he took precautionary asures.

Primarily preventing anyone from getting close. No matter how much Zhong Da regaled him of his wife’s tea skills and mastery. Or how much they begged to do it. Or anything else at all. They would wait a distance away and nowhere close while he brewed the tea to perfection.

Zhong Da could hold the tea pot though. That was fine. Serving him was even better. Yin Hu couldn’t lie and say he actually enjoyed it quite thoroughly. Such a small thing, but it equated to a certain level of luxury.

One that he would have soone else do when Zhong Da and his wife left.

Said wife seed to be pretty non responsive. Yin Hu couldn’t imagine having to deal with a loved one that seed to go through a stroke every once in a while. No matter how much he tried, he simply could not relate to that struggle. Nor would he try. People were tested in different ways, experiencing different struggles.

He would not degrade them or lessen their struggle though. It was the least he could do.

Zhong Da held his wife's hand, daintily. Helping her get up and whispering quietly to her. Yin Hu could have eavesdropped considering his enhanced physical abilities, but chose not to intrude on their spousal privacy. It felt wrong to do.

The young man led her back into the average sized pavilion they carried with them. Nothing special. Basic engravings and arrays gave them a modicum of privacy, but otherwise average. It was not anything like the ones Yin Hu had in his rice bag. Warning systems, though probably broken or the two were weaker than they acted, cooling and heating. Everything a modern person with modern desires for luxury would want.

Yin Hu finished his cup of tea. He got up from his lunging chair, leaving the tea pot and all his stuff behind as he went to check on the girls quickly. Make sure everything was fine. None of them were missing limbs suddenly due to the upgrade.

He watched them sleep peacefully. Covered in comfy blankets on beds made of feather and cloud like material he could not explain.

The system pinged him.
