"I think life should co with a map to help us work towards the life we’re supposed to have. Pardon my language but trying to figure it out on your own sucks." If everyone were given a guide with warnings and suggestions regarding their lives, she was almost certain the world would be a better place.
Vincent snorted, finding that to be true but knew life would be boring if you had everything laid out for you to follow. "Where is the fun in having a map? It’s better to wing it and do whatever you want to do. We’ll figure it out along the way."
"Really?" She didn’t like his way. The unpredictable and random things happening were not fun for her. "I winged it and looked where I ended up. Living with people who pretended to be my family and losing my mories. Winging it wasn’t fun for ."
"That you know of. Please rember you don’t have all of your mories and you are zoning in on only the bad ones so far. I know first hand you had fun with your life and you need to take responsibility for the bad things that happened. I warned you about going to those humans but you were stubborn and wanted to do things your way. For whatever reason you went to that ho, you have to accept that it was your decision."
"Yea I guess," her shoulders dropped, realizing that he was right. She had no one but herself to bla for leaving Artemis’s side and going to stay with Vincent, then leaving him to go to the Hamiltons to see Minnie’s mother. "A map would’ve told to avoid the Hamiltons and my life would be so much better." She still hasn’t given up the idea of wanting a map for her life.
"You’ll never know if it was going to point you towards the Hamiltons either way. I can’t feel exactly what you’re going through so my words will seem pointless to you but sotis to get to the good part in life you have to heal from the bad parts. You can’t do that if you keep running away from your problems. You have to face the bad mories head-on and it helps when you have people beside you to help get past them. Whenever you feel scared, please co to . I’ll comfort and protect you as much as I can. Don’t be stuck in a dark place, Aurora."
Vincent had been there before when he first lost his parents. He hid inside of his ho and negative thoughts consud his mind. Trying to ignore his reality of not having his parents anymore wasn’t helping him or anyone around him. It was only when he and his brother worked together to cope with their loss was he finally able to find so light in his life once again.
It took having a good support system and starting with a good amount of confidence to get past bad mories and traumas. Vincent would hate to only hold onto his parent’s death when there were better mories for him to hold unto. He wanted Aurora to be aware of the things done to her so she wouldn’t trust that the Hamiltons were good people and think there was a chance they would ever change. And at the sa ti, learn of her past good mories.
"What you are saying is, I should stop running and get it over with because I’ll miss out on the good parts I should rember." She was told in the cave to stop running away but she had done it once again anyway. Now Vincent was here telling her the sa thing.
"Yes, like your friendship with my brother, Cherry, , and more importantly, the one with the woman who gave life to you. The next ti you feel scared co to and I’ll protect you. I’ll hold your hand or sothing. I’m not sure how that’ll work if you teleport yourself elsewhere. I won’t be able to help you then," Vincent muttered without realizing he wasn’t helping the situation anymore.
"You’re both bad and good when it cos to comforting soone Vincent. You really wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t want to rember my past?"
"Why do I get the feeling you want to be upset about it? Is it because you think I’ll be angry we won’t be in a relationship again if you don’t rember anything about us?" He asked then smiled when she innocently nodded. "Then you underestimate how I plan to charm you and make you fall in love with once again. I truly don’t give a damn if you rember the past. I’m thinking more about the future. So no, I won’t get upset if you don’t want to rember anything."
She was here now and one of them having the mories of their past was good enough for now. She was still the sa woman he loved back then and he was certain they’ll fall in love again in the future. Aurora just had not opened her heart to the idea of him yet.
"I see. You’re making guilty for not wanting to rember anything. If you don’t mind being a coward and running to you each ti I get scared then I will try to push through my fears. Can I hold your hand?" Even though she asked, Aurora held onto his hand before he could reply and squeezed it.
Vincent looked down at their interlocked hands wondering if she was trying to make him hurt like she was hurting earlier. He also wondered how she would react to knowing what she was trying to do wasn’t hurting him. It was equivalent to the pain of him being bitten by a mosquito. He only found what she was doing to be annoying. "You know I was supposed to say yes or no to your question right?"
"You took too long to answer," she continued to squeeze his hand. Aurora found a lot of comfort in having soone’s hand to hold and talking to Vincent had started to make her forget the fear she felt earlier. "When you are not teasing , you co in handy at tis like this. I have misjudged you. You are not entirely annoying to be around."
"You warm my heart. Now, if I do this, am I still good to be around?" He leaned sideways getting closer to her to blow air against her ear. Vincent couldn’t help himself from smiling because of her reaction.
Aurora jumped up imdiately, releasing his hand and turning red because of what he did. Of course, she wasn’t going to want to be around him when he did things like that. He was still a handso man that made her body feel strange and she was a woman. The growing smile on his face made her find him annoying again. "You just had to ruin the mont."
"I don’t believe I did. You just confird again how easy it would be for to woe you all over again."
Aurora didn’t like how he kept making it seem like her heart was easy. "You seem to be misunderstanding sothing, Vincent. My reactions aren’t because I like you or anything. It’s simply because of how good looking you are and your actions. You are not close to wooing over as you think you are."
Vincent shook his head and chuckled because of how naive she was in this sort of situation. "You’re lacking experience in a situation like this. First, it starts off with the behavior you are exhibiting now. The blushing, avoiding, and the wild thoughts you want to hide from . And that’s with doing the bare minimum. You are already in the palm of my hand without knowing it but in the next few days you’ll realize it yourself."
"Realize what?" Aurora asked even though she had a good idea of what she ant. She didn’t want to boost his ego and allow him to think she was easy for him to woo over. ’He’s handso that’s all,’ she tried to convince herself.
"Whatever you say so that you can sleep better at night but you and I both know the truth. It’s okay to admit that you have started feeling sothing for . I won’t tell anyone Aurora. I like to have secrets like this."
"I swear I am nowhere near being into you. I just think that you are handso and I have never had any interactions with a male like this so, of course, I am flustered. I don’t think you should be using that to your advantage and think that I am falling for you. I’m never going to fall for you," Aurora declared, one hundred percent sure that it was never going to happen. She didn’t care how much anyone thought they were a good fit for each other. She was never going to be romantically involved with him again.
