Chen Mo reached the last slide on his power point.
“Alright, that’s all the content I have for this ga announcent, go ahead and ask any questions you have. The next half an hour is reserved just for Q and A.
The journalists now have a good idea of what the ga was like after sitting through his explanation and gaplay footage.
Many journalists raised their hands upon hearing about the Q&A.
Chen Mo picked a random journalist in the front row, “The man in the glasses, go ahead.”
The man stood up and grabbed a mic from a mber of staff, “First I’d like to thank you for that very entertaining presentation, I’m really interested in the ga. But I have a question, if this ga is a ga that is built around building, is it really a good idea to release it on VR? There aren’t many teenagers who play on VR, have you thought about that?”
Chen Mo nodded, “I understand what you’re getting at. Let’s put it this way, Minecraft is a ga for all ages, we hope that adults can gain the sa fun as everyone else, so I don’t think there’s anything out of place with the ga. Alright, now the lady with blonde hair.
“Nice to et you Mr Chen Mo. Why would you pick a ga like this as your first ga into the VR ga industry? Are you targeting the puzzle ga genre?”
Chen Mo shook his head, “No, just as I said before, it’s a ga for all ages. My target audience is the whole world. I hope every VR gaming pod has Minecraft installed.”
Everyone was shocked at that statent as it sounded like sothing soone overly confident would say.
A middle aged journalist asked, “You have added a few additional gamodes for Minecraft, but it’s still not as many compared to the larger MMORPGs, do you plan to release DLCs in the future to add more content?”
Chen Mo shook his head, “Minecraft is not like other MMORPGs. We hope that the players will make their own mods for the ga just like Don’t Starve. I think Minecraft is already a complete product that doesn’t need anymore DLCs.
The questions kept coming, and the questions beca broader and broader. Most of the questions were about Minecraft at the start, but in the end, questions about Diablo, Don’t Starve, and World of Warcraft were being asked. There were questions on Chen Mo’s next steps.
Chen Mo got through all of them, skipping over the ones he didn’t want to.
Last but not least was Han Lu.
“Nice to et you. Emperor Dynasty Entertainnt’s S-grade videoga designer Yan Zhenyuan is about to release his VR ga Thousand Hells. There are plenty of discussions out there thinking that the ga copied Diablo.
“Do you think it’s a copy? And why did you announce Minecraft now, are you trying to compete directly with Thousand Hells?”
Chen Mo laughed, “It doesn’t matter if it was a copy or not. Video Ga designers get inspiration from many different sources, and sotis it’s from other gas. Sotis, the thoughts of video ga designers just happen to collide, so I don’t mind that at all.”
Han Lu asked another follow up question, “That ans releasing Minecraft the sa ti as Thousand Hells is just another coincidence?”
“Of course not.”
“Huh?” Han Lu was confused.
Chen Mo laughed, “It’s just a learning experience as it’s my first VR ga after all. But you guys have sothing to look forward to. Which of these two gas would sell more or be more profitable?”
The journalists were shocked.
What is he playing at?
He was being nice and modest at the start, with all that about being alright with referencing gas and just for experience, but what was that at the end.
You intentionally announced the ga the sa ti as Thousand Hells, and want us to guess who gets more sales?
Is there even a point? This and Thousand Hells are on completely different levels. Just on the difficulty of developnt, Thousand Hells was already miles ahead!
No matter sales or profits, you lose!
Many journalists were frantically making notes. Chen Mo said he wanted to compete against Thousand Hells? This should be a good headline.
Many thought that Chen Mo was just trying to gain free publicity for his ga.
Chen Mo asked, “Uhh, one last question. How would you rate Thousand Hells?”
“Uhh, I’ll need a few seconds to think in order to answer that.”
He grabbed his bracelet on his left wrist using his right hand and thought for about ten seconds.
The journalists were shocked by this.
This was a dangerous topic, and Chen Mo could easily reject the question if he didn’t want to answer. It would have been fine to say a few courteous lines if he hadn’t played it.
But Chen Mo was seriously thinking about it?
Chen Mo seed to have gotten his thought process straightened, “Geez, to be honest, I don’t why you guys asked this question.
“How is Thousand Hells? Do I even need to say anything? I think it’s a perfect ga, it will most certainly be a best selling ga.
“Is there anyone who thinks Mr Yan will fail? Impossible, what are you thinking about? Think about it, Emperor Dynasty Emperor is the videoga distribution channel in China. Mr Yan has a lot of experience behind him too, and the ga filled in the market gap of VR hack and slash gas. The stars have basically aligned for him right? It’s impossible for him to fail.
“The entire gaming industry this year is just waiting for Mr Yan to do his thing. I think this year is the year for Thousand Hells, because the gas this year will find it really difficult to compete against Mr Yan’s ga.
“As for the sales, let’s put it this way, it’s impossible for it to not be popular. He has the Emperor Dynasty Gaming Platform behind him, there’s no way it isn’t popular right?
“I’ve played Thousand Hells too, the ga is incredibly fun and incredibly high quality. There’s no questioning that the ga will be popular.
“Alright, let’s end it there, that’s all the ti we have for today.
Chen Mo walked off stage after finishing his statent.
The journalists were all dumbfounded, looking at one another.
What? Chen Mo praised Thousand Hells a bunch at his own video ga conference!
And he was being so over the top with all that about the stars aligning and this year being the year of Thousand Hells.
They were all really confused.
Is Chen Mo trying to... jinx his rival?
