"Hahaha, Old Man Morgan, who knew you’d be so clingy after getting married?" soone teased.
Victor Morgan sighed helplessly. "She’s young, unfamiliar with Aethelburg, and just got here. Plus, she loves to have fun." ’Who else is going to keep an eye on her but ?’
After saying this, Victor Morgan sent a ssage to the bodyguard he had assigned to Jessie Sterling.
Before long, the bodyguard’s reply arrived on Victor Morgan’s phone.
Looking at the address, Victor Morgan couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
"Xavier Warren, is this place yours?" Victor Morgan asked, handing his phone to Xavier Warren.
The location sent by the bodyguard was a KTV that occupied an entire building within Aethelburg’s second ring road. It offered several pricing tiers and was bustling every night.
Back in his younger days, Xavier Warren had been the biggest partier of their group. This club, along with several other large entertainnt venues in Aethelburg, were all ventures he had single-handedly established before graduating.
And what’s more, this side hustle was flourishing, to the point that it had practically beco Xavier Warren’s defining trait.
"Huh? Isn’t this Chang Bar?" Xavier Warren recognized his own establishnt at a glance. He then shot Victor Morgan a complicated look before bursting into laughter. "Looks like your little wife really knows how to find fun!"
Victor Morgan’s brow instantly tightened.
He knew, of course, that the entertainnt venues under Xavier Warren’s na weren’t entirely clean.
While they weren’t breaking the law, they did have so aspects that he considered "distasteful."
In places like bars and KTVs, there were far more young n making a living off their looks and bodies than young won.
Roman Lynch also leaned in to watch the show. Seeing Xavier Warren teasing Victor Morgan, he let out a short laugh and clapped Xavier on the shoulder. That guy loved provoking Victor, but he could never handle the retaliation.
"The main attraction of this place is the male hosts," Roman Lynch spoke up, afraid Xavier Warren would get screwed over by Victor Morgan later. "All the staff are young n, so the clientele is almost exclusively female."
After Roman Lynch finished speaking, Victor Morgan’s brow seed to furrow even tighter.
Xavier Warren was already laughing out loud, the look in his eyes clearly screaming the words, "You’ve finally t your match!"
Victor Morgan rubbed the bridge of his nose. He didn’t know if Jessie Sterling had chosen this place herself or if soone else had, and she had just tagged along, clueless and naive.
"Forget it." Victor Morgan stood up from his seat and grabbed his woolen coat from the arm of the sofa. "I’m calling it a night. I’m heading out first, put all the drinks on my tab."
Hearing this, Xavier Warren wiped the smug look from his face. "Alright, go on then. But you don’t have to worry too much; my place is very safe. Except for the activities on the fourth floor... ahem, you know. But I’m sure your wife wouldn’t go to a place like that on her own. Watching a performance or sothing is no big deal."
However, these reassuring words did little to improve Victor Morgan’s expression. Instead, the man’s aura grew even colder and more somber.
"Mm," Victor Morgan responded simply before striding out of the private room.
Roman Lynch picked up a bottle and poured himself a glass of liquor. He leaned back on the sofa in a lazy posture, took a large gulp of the golden-brown liquid, and clicked his tongue.
"What’s up?" Xavier Warren asked, turning his head.
Still holding his glass, Roman Lynch raised his hand, which wore a vintage ring, and pointed toward the coffee table. "Look. Old Man Morgan really did spend the whole night just drinking tea. I bet he won’t be getting any sleep tonight, hahaha."
Xavier Warren followed Roman Lynch’s finger and saw the teacup on the coffee table. He was speechless.
Jessie Sterling had no idea Mochi was so good at picking places. The mont she walked in, she noticed that the waiters here were all quite handso and well-built.
"So? What do you think?" Mochi took the lead, stepping inside and looking back at her three friends. "This place has the best reviews online! All the girls who’ve been here rave about it. The guys are all good-looking, definitely no duds to ruin the mood!"
’If you’re spending money, you’ve got to get so eye candy.’
Bella imdiately covered her face with her hands. She only loved her 2D n; she had no interest in 3D guys.
Yvonne Rhodes said nothing, seemingly unimpressed by the handso waiters.
As for Jessie Sterling, she felt a little guilty.
"These guys... they’re not gigolos, are they?" Jessie Sterling asked in what she thought was a whisper.
Mochi: "..."
Bella: "..."
Yvonne Rhodes: "..."
"Ahem." Mochi was the first to recover. "Are you looking to order one?"
As she said this, all sorts of possibilities were already running through Mochi’s mind.
’Is Jessie Sterling’s husband ugly? Or is he... not good in bed? Is that why she can’t bring herself to do it with him? So she wants to order one now?’
’If that’s the case, should I tell her that you can apparently take the guys from the fourth floor out for the night?’
"No!" Jessie Sterling imdiately shook her head, indicating she had no intention of "ordering" anyone.
Mochi breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew, of course not. They’re just regular waiters. Besides being better looking and more attentive, it’s no different from any other KTV. Oh, the only difference is that it’s a bit more expensive."
Jessie Sterling relaxed.
The four of them got a private room, and soon soone ca in to deliver fruit and sell them drinks.
This was the KTV’s main source of revenue, as the profit margin on drinks was the highest.
Jessie Sterling wasn’t much of a mic hog, but dinner tonight had been a bit heavy-handed with the salt. It left her so thirsty that she ended up chugging drinks in the private room.
In the end, Mochi didn’t fall for any of the KTV guys, but she did fall for the house-specialty ice cream. After eating a huge tub of it, she ended up with an upset stomach. There was no way Jessie Sterling was going to fight soone with a stomachache for the bathroom. So, while Bella was in the room busting out an otaku dance, Jessie Sterling pushed open the door once again.
She looked up at the sign for the restroom, not noticing a familiar figure she had seen earlier that day appearing at the end of the hallway.
Shawn Stuart had found out that Jessie Sterling was at this KTV with so friends. He had already been to several other places looking for her, and by now, the man was furious.
In Shawn Stuart’s eyes, everything that had happened to him today was Jessie Sterling’s fault.
If it weren’t for Jessie Sterling, how could he have ended up in this situation? Apologizing to her online—what was the difference between that and slapping his own face?
All his years of hard work had been ruined in an instant because of Jessie Sterling.
’Now, isn’t Manhui’s intention, both explicitly and implicitly, just for to get lost?’
’Manhui is just a bunch of trash who treat people differently based on their status.’ Shawn Stuart had cursed his old employer countless tis in his mind on his way here. ’If it weren’t for the fact that Jessie Sterling has so stinking money, how could Manhui possibly choose to appease a re newcor over , their cash cow?’
Since Jessie Sterling had ruined his life, he certainly wasn’t going to let her have an easy ti.
A glint of cold tal flashed from the pocket of Shawn Stuart’s jacket.
