Just as Jessie Sterling was leaving the restroom and stepping up to the sink, she caught sight of a man not far behind her in the mirror.

Jessie’s brow furrowed the mont she realized it was Shawn Stuart.

She turned around, her gaze unwelcoming. "What are you doing here?"

Jessie clenched her fists instinctively.

Shawn Stuart looked nothing like the high-spirited man she had seen that morning. With bloodshot eyes, he looked every bit the drunkard.

Shawn Stuart walked toward her. "You’re asking ? Don’t you know damn well why? If it weren’t for you, how could I have been kicked out of Manhui?! If it weren’t for you, would so many people be flaming online right now?! It’s all your fault, you bitch! I’m finished, so you can die with !"

As he spat out the last sentence, Shawn Stuart suddenly lunged at Jessie Sterling.

He whipped out a pair of sharp-pointed tal scissors he had been clutching in his hand and slashed at Jessie Sterling’s face—

"Die!"

Jessie had never experienced anything like this.

Shawn Stuart’s sudden frenzy gave her absolutely no ti to react. In an instant, Jessie froze in place.

Under extre stress and shock, the body’s instincts can hit a pause button, leaving a person rooted to the spot, completely stunned.

She couldn’t even manage a scream.

But in that sa instant, a figure in dark gray rushed in from the side and kicked Shawn Stuart squarely in the waist, sending him flying. The mont he landed, two more figures appeared and pinned him to the ground four or five ters away, completely immobilizing him.

After sending Shawn Stuart flying, the figure in dark gray strode over to Jessie Sterling.

The tall figure crouched down, eting the eyes of Jessie, who was still leaning against the sink. His voice was laced with tension and concern. "Jessie Sterling."

When Victor Morgan ca looking for the disobedient girl, he never expected to walk into a scene like this.

The mont he reached the third floor, he saw the scene outside the restroom.

A man he didn’t recognize stood before Jessie, but Victor had no ti to think. His gaze imdiately locked onto the hand the man had concealed in his pocket.

A silvery tal glinted under the light, reflecting a blinding flash. Though it was only for a split second, Victor Morgan knew he couldn’t be careless. He rushed forward.

The mont he saw Shawn Stuart pull out the silver tal scissors, Victor Morgan felt his breath catch in his throat.

His body reacted on pure instinct, a step ahead of his thoughts. He broke into a sprint, raised his knee, and his other foot slamd into Shawn Stuart’s waist.

When he turned and saw the terrified Jessie Sterling, a wave of fear washed over Victor Morgan.

He remained crouched, waiting with imnse patience for her to co to her senses.

Jessie dazedly lifted her head. Her eyes landed on Victor Morgan’s face, and it seed to take her a few monts to focus. Once she recognized him, she threw herself into his arms and burst into tears with a loud wail.

Jessie just felt so wronged. The mont she saw Victor Morgan, that feeling had completely overwheld her fear.

She was like a little puppy soaked by the rain, sobbing uncontrollably. She looked utterly pitiful.

Victor Morgan had already straightened up, holding her tightly against his chest. Even though they were wearing thick winter clothes, and her tears couldn’t possibly soak through his shirt so quickly, Victor still felt a dampness spread across his chest at that mont.

As he looked down at the crown of Jessie’s head, his eyes filled with tenderness.

His large hand rested on Jessie’s back, patting it gently. "It’s okay. You’re okay now."

’Truthfully, even if he hadn’t shown up, the bodyguards who were tailing Jessie would never have let Shawn Stuart hurt her.’

It was just that Victor Morgan had reacted a step faster. Now, as the two bodyguards who’d been a beat too slow subdued Shawn Stuart on the floor, they looked up at the tall young man a few steps away and suddenly felt rather sheepish.

How could they not, when their reactions hadn’t been as fast as Victor Morgan’s?

"Boss," one of the black-suited bodyguards Victor had hired said, looking at the man not far away. "What do you want us to do with him?"

Victor Morgan felt the woman in his arms still clutching tightly to the fabric at his waist. He patted Jessie’s back again before looking up at Shawn Stuart, who was pinned to the ground, gagged, and still trying to struggle. Victor’s gaze instantly turned to ice.

"Take him inside," Victor Morgan said.

He tilted his head slightly, his gaze landing on the adjacent n’s restroom.

The commotion they’d caused hadn’t been quiet, and people were passing by in the hallway. Soon, a crowd had gathered to watch the spectacle.

Victor Morgan made a phone call, and the KTV manager quickly ca upstairs with security to disperse the crowd.

The KTV manager’s forehead was beaded with cold sweat. Who could have imagined sothing like this would happen tonight? Just a mont ago, his own boss had personally called to inquire about the situation. If he still didn’t realize that the man before him was soone not to be trifled with, his career as a manager would be over.

"President Morgan..."

Victor Morgan looked at the group that had arrived so late, his expression unreadable.

"Find a private room nearby," Victor Morgan said. He had to make sure Jessie Sterling was settled before he dealt with anything else.

The manager hastily sent soone to make the arrangents. Then he saw Victor Morgan’s bodyguards place an "Under Maintenance" sign on the door of the n’s restroom, his eyes filled with confusion.

"And... the man who started the trouble?" The manager wouldn’t have reached his position without a certain degree of capability and tact. He was used to seeing spoiled rich kids lose all sense of decorum and act outrageously arrogant after a few drinks. But the man before him, with his calm deanor, was far more terrifying than any of those drunks who couldn’t tell which way was up.

The manager was genuinely afraid that Victor Morgan might actually kill the man. If that happened, forget about this KTV; his own future in the industry would be over.

For a fleeting mont, the manager truly wanted to drop to his knees and beg the man to be rciful.

"I’ve already called the police. Just stand guard at the door," Victor Morgan said.

After saying this, without a second glance at the manager’s expression, he looked down at Jessie Sterling and said, "Let’s go wait to the side for a minute, okay?"

The KTV manager’s facial muscles twitched uncontrollably.

If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he never would have believed a man could control his emotions so perfectly. One mont, his gaze was so cold and imposing, yet the very next, even his voice could be filled with such gentleness.

And yet, when Victor Morgan had spoken to him, his tone had been anything but negotiable. The manager had no choice but to obediently step aside.
