Chapter 97: Chapter 97 Love is a Cup of Poison_1
After the laughter, the ghost’s voice sweetly said, "They didn’t hurt , but a man did, and since they’re also n just like him? What made them appear before
late at night? What made them travel alone?"
Qin Sisi’s brow furrowed tighter as her impression of the ghost grew worse. It seed you really couldn’t judge a book by its cover!
Qin Sisi recalled what Comrade Xiaoli had told her at the train station and continued to question, "Did you kill four people?"
The ghost extended her slender, pale fingers, lightly combing through her glossy, black hair while she casually admitted, "Yes, three escaped, and the last one was saved by you. Luckily you’re a woman, otherwise, I would have killed you too."
The ghost’s tone was nonchalant, as if discussing sothing completely ordinary.
A faint smile played on Qin Sisi’s lips as she coldly retorted, "You wouldn’t be able to kill ."
The ghost tilted her head gracefully and said, "Whether I can kill you or not, I won’t because I don’t kill won, I only kill n."
"Why do you hate n so much?" Qin Sisi asked, sensing a tumultuous love story behind the ghost’s hate.
The ghost’s hair-combing paused for a mont as she coldly replied, "Why should I tell you?"
It seed the ghost wasn’t keen on sharing her story. Qin Sisi felt a twinge of disappointnt but brushed it off, saying, "It’s alright if you don’t want to talk about it. Let’s discuss Soul Power now."
The ghost snorted derisively, slowly saying, "Don’t think I will willingly give my Soul Power to you."
Qin Sisi shook her head, stating, "A ghost like you refuses to reincarnate and instead causes harm in the world of the living. I imagine your heart is filled with resentnt."
Her words were soft-spoken but impactful, hitting the ghost like a thousand-pound rock dropping into a tranquil pool, causing waves of turmoil.
The ghost suddenly stiffened, her originally icy expression now filled with profound anger and hatred as she glared at Qin Sisi, "What exactly do you want?"
With a tranquil expression, Qin Sisi slowly said, "I’ve told you my goal already. It’s up to you if you’re willing to make a deal."
The ghost forced herself to remain calm, her icy and ferocious gaze stabbing into Qin Sisi as she gritted out, "What if I refuse?"
Qin Sisi coldly responded, "You’ve hard the innocent and committed grave sins. You should no longer exist in this world. If you refuse, I will obliterate your soul, causing you to vanish forever, never able to harm anyone again."
The incredibly beautiful ghost, who was typically proud and aloof in life, was irate when Qin Sisi said she would casually obliterate her. Amidst her anger, she scoffed, "Are you sure you’re capable of that?"
"You’re welco to find out."
Qin Sisi’s gaze hardened as she flicked her wrist. The Divine Dog’s Fury was now in her hand. The pitch-black long whip, the ice-cold sharp teeth, even though most of its power was suppressed, the small ghost could still feel the might of divine wrath.
The ghost couldn’t help but take a couple of steps backward, a hint of fear flashing across her eyes. She had assud Qin Sisi had rely stumbled upon her, not realizing she possessed such a formidable weapon.
In a split second, several thoughts raced through the ghost’s mind. Eventually, she lowered her voice to announce, "I can give you my Soul Power, but I have a condition."
A barely noticeable smile ford on Qin Sisi’s lips. This was exactly what she had been waiting for.
Qin Sisi put away the Divine Dog’s Fury, softly saying, "State your condition. As long as it’s within my capability, I will do my best to fulfill it."
However, the ghost fell into silence, her face alternating between sweetness, sadness, resentnt, and finally into emptiness.
"Before that, let
tell you a story." The ghost opened her rosy lips, her eyes gazing through the window at the night sky. Her previously confused thoughts now clear as if they were a bird in flight, traversing through ten years of ti to alight upon the most beautiful monts of her youth.
In the university brimming with youthful vigor, the engineering student, Shi Yan, fell in love at first sight with the beautiful Bai Xue from the art departnt. After a period of earnest pursuit and sweet words, he finally won her heart.
After three cozy years together, although they had their fair share of fights and disagreents, Shi Yan would always be the one to apologize, able to placate Bai Xue with his gentle words.
During that ti, Bai Xue was wholly imrsed in this fairy tale-like love, steadfastly believing that Shi Yan would always love and protect her, that they would be together forever.
After graduation, when most couples chose to break up, Shi Yan and Bai Xue stayed together, even managing to find work in the sa big city.
The couple rented a house and started living together. Despite the stress of work, the tight schedule, and the financial strain, Bai Xue didn’t mind. She was still filled with beautiful aspirations for their future.
At that ti, Shi Yan promised that he would marry Bai Xue once they had saved enough money in a few years.
However, life isn’t a fairy tale.
A year later, Shi Yan unexpectedly broke up with Bai Xue, offering up reasons such as not being good enough for her and not being able to provide a happy life for her. He said that Bai Xue, who was so beautiful, deserved better and he didn’t want to hold her back.
Bai Xue was devastated and firmly opposed breaking up. Despite Shi Yan’s insistence, Bai Xue refused to acquiesce, even threatening suicide.
Finally, Shi Yan relented and promised not to break up, vowing that he would work hard to make money and quickly give Bai Xue a happy life.
A month later, Shi Yan suddenly proposed to take Bai Xue to et his parents in his hotown.
Bai Xue was overjoyed and thought that the breakup was rely a temporary lapse in judgnt from Shi Yan. She had utterly forgotten about the unpleasantness and prepared herself to et his parents, buying many gifts and embarking on a train to Shi Yan’s hotown with him.
However, at a small remote train station, Shi Yan suddenly ntioned that he wanted to visit a cousin living nearby. Since they weren’t far from his ho and it wouldn’t cost much to buy tickets again.
Bai Xue naturally had no reason to object, so they got off at the small train station.
Shi Yan said his cousin was a little strange and that it would be better if he went alone, so he left Bai Xue to wait in a hotel nearby the train station.
In Bai Xue’s perspective, this was a small and insignificant affair, so she complied with Shi Yan’s arrangents.
A few hours later, Shi Yan returned to the hotel, and they bought train tickets again to travel to Shi Yan’s hotown, with a departure ti of one in the morning.
The still of the night was penetrated by the "clank clank" of the approaching train. The dim light was even more gloomy in the pitch-black night.
A slightly fatigued Bai Xue, holding the presents she’d bought for Shi Yan’s parents and clutching Shi Yan’s arm, stepped onto the platform, ready to board the train.
